Choose Grace has all of the traditional elements of journaling prompts. It starts with making lists and gradually moves into elements that you should learn forgiveness and grace for. The prompts aren’t all positive thinking, but more of a reflection of thinking that will help the reader move on from which they are stuck.

I received this journal as an advanced readers copy.

I enjoyed the writing prompts and soothing feel of this journal. I would recommend to anyone looking to journal more or looking for a more guided journaling experience.

I love Choose Grace! This journal is filled with amazing prompts and quotes that inspire me to be a little less hard on myself. I am also inspired to contemplate thought patterns and beliefs so I’m able to decide what serves me best in my life!

I received a complimentary copy from Zeitgeist, Driven and all opinions expressed are entirely my on.

This is a book that packs a punch in that it forces you to get uncomfortable with yourself when journaling and going through it. I would describe it as a hug to self in a moment of desperation as it forces you to address why you do the things you do, why you are hard on yourself and why you are negative towards self. It unsettles one to address the way they act to self.

A straight-forward, easy-to-use workbook for anyone looking to reduce negative self-talk, focus on gratitude, and develop an introspective journaling practice. Topics are presented as prompts, with ample space included to allow the reader to write their answers and reflections inside the book.

I think this would be an excellent resource for teenagers and young adults, in particular. If you’ve done any previous work around gratitude and/or self worth, you might not find anything new here. But all in all a nice, non-judgemental book for beginners looking to ease into self-reflection.

It may be a small book but it packs a punch if you take your time and answer the questions truly. This is a book that I see myself going back to, reflecting on the answers I provided in the past to help me grow as an individual. It can be considered a ‘self help’ book but it can also be seen as an old friend that has solid advice. It is filled with gentle yet firm reminders of being kind to ourselves, growing our self awareness and self acceptance.

Choose Grace review.

I think for someone who is already in touch with their feelings and kind of already knows how to give themselves and others grace, this would be an amazing tool! All the space to journal would be so helpful in processing what went wrong in a certain situation. The person can than apply grace to it, and move on with the skills and experiences to live grace-fully.

All of that is great, but if the person picking up this copy does not already have the skills or experience to use grace in their daily life, or if the person does not have all their feelings close and attainable, I think they could get really frustrated by this journal. There are examples of past screw ups and a grace filled answer, but if someone is really struggling, I think they would need (I would need) a real person to show how to identify what when wrong and how to move on from it with grace.

So I think this journal would work well for many, but not for all.

Thank you to NetGalley for a chance to read and review this journal.
