An OK book.
More of an informative book than a story.
I think it could have been adapted to have been made into a story while still keeping the idea I'd colours as feelings

Thank you netgalley for the e-ARC.
I read this book with my two and three year olds. This book explains different emotions really well. They loved the look of the Sunny Bunnies saying they are really cute. According to my two year old Shiny (the sad bunny) needs a mummy hug and she will be all better. Using colours to represent the different emotions is a really good way to capture children's attention and even though there are a lot of words my kids were happy to try to tell me what was happening by looking at the pictures.
This is another one that I will need to purchase a physical copy of the book when it is available and I will happily gift this book to friends with little children too.

This is such a great book for the littler ones to work on understanding their emotions/ feelings. A very interactive book that has exercises for the kids to try so they can learn how to work through all the different emotions they will feel.

Thank you Netgalley, the publisher and the author for my ARC!

I picked this book up for my 3 year old son. I didn't realize there was a TV show for the book characters until recently.

I love the bright colors. Each emotion has there own color too but I wished the color for the story of the emotion was the same color for the character experiencing it in the short story.

Each page has a short easy to understand description of one of the emotions. The following page includes the short story.

At the end of the book you are given for emotions and techniques for working through those emotions.

Rating 3 out of 5 because it was a cute book but I didn't find anything truly special about it.

I’m slightly undecided about this one. I love the characters and the bright colours. However there isn’t really a story to it or anything to keep a young child motivated. I also am unsure bout how it portrays emotions as negative and positive, how sadness takes away all pleasure.
For me I feel this book would be better if there was a story to how the characters are feeling and why and a resolution on that page rather than some at the end of the book.
My young son liked the colours and characters but he didn’t seem inclined to read it again as there was no story, just a list of emotions.
It is almost as it the text is aimed at one age and the colourful fun graphics at another.
There would be lots of potential for all the characters in a more typical story.

I would first like to start off by saying, that this is a fantastic book idea.

This is my first time reviewing and reading a book from netgalley and what better way to start than sharing a book with my daughter. My daughter is on the austistic spectrum, as a i, and it allowed us both to sit down and share a special moment together.

This book is colourful and informative without being too overwhelming for young minds, it explains clearly and uses fun characters to help children understand and personify their emotions. while giving prompts for parents/carers to understand their child better.

This book helped my daughter understand her emotions and start to process and associate colours with emotions, she now says to me "mummy, im feeling yellow, or mummy im feeling red" in regards to how she is feeling, this has always been something my daughter has struggled with so now i can start on the journey to help her understand herself that little bit more.

Overall, this is a fantastic idea, it is bright, intresting and attracts the eyes of the designated audience. i will be sure to check out futher books by this author.

(all opinions are my own. Book review for netgalley)

I love these little characters on the tv show. The book is fab, great way to introduce feelings and emotions at a young age. As a primary school librarian I will definitely be buying it for the younger pupils to read in my library.

Read this with both my 3yo and 5yo and they both really enjoyed it.

The illustrations are a little bit reminiscent of of Inside Out wick they loved. We’ll be buying our own copy to have and re read.

A pretty good book to start looking at emotions. The illustrations are cute, and it is eye catching but my daughter lost interest a few times so can’t rate higher. this doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be great for other children!

Sunny Bunnies are magical bunnies that live on the sun and visit random places on Earth and sometimes beyond. They originated as a computer animated video series and have expanded into toys and books. The series uses slapstick humor, and the bunnies tend to find themselves getting into chaotic situations.

In Sunny Bunnies: My Book of Feelings by Carine Laforest, seven emotions are described in a way that help children understand how their bodies might react to these feelings, what causes them and how to handle them. They are color coded as a way to further aid a child's expression of what they're feeling. For example, green is calm, yellow is joy, pink is love and red is anger.

Each two-page spread has a large colored area on the left telling what the emotion is and giving it a brief description. It will then ask, "When do you feel (insert emotion)?" in order to invite the child to talk about what has caused each feeling in their life. On the right side, there is a day-in-the-life type example of something happening with the Sunny Bunnies showing the joy of a birthday party, the fear of a scarecrow and so on. At the end, there are four exercises that children can do to help alleviate things like fear, anger and sadness.

The illustrations were the first thing that grabbed me about this book. They are absolutely beautiful in their vibrancy, and the bunnies are adorable. I love the color guide for the emotions, but because this aspect is stressed, I think the bunnies being used as the main character of each two-page spread should have matched better. Like, why was the orange bunny used for the page about calm when there's a green bunny that would have been better. I just think it could cause confusion since young children can be quite literal.

The text is easy to understand and gets to the point for the most part. I wish that the mention of fear being something that can protect us would have been explained with a quick extension to the sentence. A child isn't going to understand how that's possible. Does it invite discussion between the parent/teacher/reader and child? Yes, but it also could have been easily added in.

All in all, I do think this is a valuable book to use as a tool to help teach littles how to recognize and express what they're feeling, and I will definitely be buying it for our library. I will also be looking into what other books are available in this series.

Thank you to NetGalley and Chouette Publishing for providing an egalley of this book for which I've chosen to write an honest and objective review.

Sunny Bunnies: My Book of Feelings is a great introduction to young kids or others who have difficulty recognizing and reacting to their feelings in an appropriate manner. Sunny Bunnies do a wonderful job of introducing different emotions and how to deal with them. I highly recommend this to little ones!

[Thanks Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to review this eARC in exchange for my honest review on the book!]

Sunny Bunnies, My Book Of Feelings is great for getting your children to understand about feelings.

How to explore and express themselves in the minefield of such personal and emotional feelings.

I love the bright colors and the simplicity of the words intended for kids. I think the longer explanations are really meant for the adult reading this with kids. It gives the adult some words to elaborate on the emotions, without actually reading all that to the kids. And some great strategies for handling emotions included at the end.

My Book of Feelings contains interesting illustrations. The colour scheme used throughout the book is appealing to children. As other reviewers have mentioned, I wonder whether the text could incorporate more rhyming or attention-grabbing explanations of the distinct emotions. Very young children may struggle to maintain their attention with today's writing style.

Overall, I believe this is a fantastic alternative for parents or carers who want to help their pre-k to early elementary-aged children understand about emotions. Giving these Adults engaging exercises to attempt one-on-one is a terrific idea.

The ideal book for children.
The youngster is aware of his or her emotions.
He discovers what happens when we are happy and sad, for example.
In the end, there are exercises.
We ask the youngster questions once we have identified each emotion.
A fantastic book that both entertains and teaches.

I requested this book as my toddler saw me browsing Netgalley and said she wanted to read it, so the cover clearly caught her attention! She really enjoyed this book. She watches Sunny Bunnies on Netflix so was aware of them. She's also just started to learn about emotions through colours at nursery so this book compliments that learning really well. I liked the way the book asks the child questions to encourage them to talk about their emotions. My little one doesn't understand all the emotions yet, but she really connected with Joy, Sadness and Angry.

Sunny Bunnies: My Book of Feelings is an engaging introduction to emotions for young children. The colourful illustrations and cute characters effectively grab the reader’s attention. The book’s organization (two-page spread for each emotion and colour-coding) make it easy to navigate. Each page also includes a good description of what the emotion feels like and a specific example of when the characters have felt this way. It invites conversation by including a question to the reader on each page. The back matter includes four good strategies for feeling calm when big emotions overwhelm a child. At times the word choice is too difficult for the target audience and the adult reader may need to reword certain sentences on each page for a child to clearly understand. Suggesting that some emotions are “pleasant” and “unpleasant” may send the wrong message to the reader. Overall the book would be a good tool for educators and parents when discussing emotions with children.
