James Patterson gets it right for me every time. Every series he writes has something unique to offer and Private Moscow has me thinking I need to be heading to the bookstore for other Private books. Action packed and fast paced, Jack Morgan the head of investigation agency Private with locations world wide finds himself and the team at Private Moscow in the throes of a government conspiracy. Jack gets involved after the death of a friend and then several other high profile individuals. When Jack finds that the deaths run deeper than he could have imagined, Jack finds himself questioning who he can trust. Teamed with Dinara and Leonid from Private Moscow, Jack goes to great lengths to discover the truth regardless of personal risk. Highly recommend this read!

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the authors for a copy of this novel to read for an honest review. This did not affect my rating.

Private:Moscow started out strong and pulled me in, but eventually started to lose me with the so many unbelievable twists, turns, and scenarios. Jack Morgan is at the NYSE when his Marine flight instructor is assassinated. Jack decides Private needs to figure out what his instructor was involved in based on something he found after his death. Based on this I was pulled in and invested anf really wanted to know what was going on. Eventually there were too many instances of convenience and things just falling into place for Jack allowing him to just know things or having the ability to easily figure things out. I couldn't always suspend realism. Happy with how the book ended as I still like Jack Morgan.

I am a huge Patterson fan and his books are pretty much always a must buy for me so this one was a bit disappointing for me. I will, of course, give the next one a try.

Private is the name of a global private investigation company founded and headed by Jack Morgan. Morgan is in New York for the IPO of his highly successful former flight instructor’s company when an assassin strikes at the opening bell of the market killing his friend. Not long afterward, a blogger is killed in Moscow where Private has a presence that is flailing (or failing) - only 2 investigators, Dinara Orlova (ex-FSB) and Leonid Boykov (ex-Moscow policeman) are left when they are approached by Russian oligarch Maxim Yenen to find out who killed Yana Petrova, a blogger who is pushing the envelope in Russia. Morgan’s friend had left some vague clues for him to follow which leads him to Moscow. Are the seemingly isolated events connected? What ensues is a fast-paced if at times unbelievable story. As usual, the chapters are short and the action keeps your attention.

I saw this book available for an Advanced Reader Copy - so I took a chance and got approved. At this point, you can’t read every book that Patterson puts out - he has so many co-authors it is crazy. And about halfway through this book, I realized it is part of a series - #15 in a series that has had a number of co-authors. You clearly don’t have had to read the earlier ones to read this one. My thanks to Grand Central Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my review (and my apologies for the lateness of this review!).

Jack Morgan returns in this thriller set in the United States and Moscow. He accompanies a friend to the opening bell of the stock market. The friend, on the way there, shares his concerns. He tells Jack, he may not live long. He fears for his life. Sure enough, shots ring out that morning on the stock market and Jack is on the trail of the killer or killers. In Moscow, they are searching for the persons and the reasons for the assassination. Jack of course will solve it but the story is in the how and why. Another Patterson thriller. If you like the character of Jack Morgan you will like this latest adventure. Thanks to #NetGalley#PrivateMoscow for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Overall this was an xo ring and gripping thriller. A man is killed in New York and a woman is killed in a restaurant in Moscow. Are these events related? It up to Private Moscow to help in the search for answers.

My Thoughts

"Private Moscow" by James Patterson and Adam Hamdy is an exhilarating thrill ride from beginning to end. Secrets unravel, bullets fly, and danger lurks at every turn in this adrenaline-fueled chase through the dark underbelly of Russia. The authors skillfully keep the reader on their toes with non-stop action, whether it's a high-stakes chase in New York, a gunfight on the streets of Moscow, or a tense standoff between armed federal agencies. The pace is relentless, and the suspenseful twists and turns ensure that there's never a dull moment.

The novel's fast pace is enhanced by the clever use of short chapters, which heightens the suspense and keeps readers hooked. The story seamlessly weaves together two parallel mystery plot lines, gradually revealing their intricate and fascinating connection. The Russian setting adds an extra layer of intrigue, and the Russian protagonists, Dinara and Leonid, bring a dynamic and compelling dynamic to the narrative.

As a newcomer to the Private series, I had no trouble immersing myself in the world created by Patterson and understanding the Private organization and its main characters. While familiarity with the series might enhance the reading experience, it is by no means necessary, and I thoroughly enjoyed the book without prior knowledge.

Mystery and intrigue saturate the pages of this book with suspense and tension expertly building throughout. The contrasting settings, from the bustling Wall Street to the chilling Russian winter, as well as the exploration of U.S. politics and the social landscape of Russia, create a rich and atmospheric backdrop that adds depth to the story.

The ending of the book delivers a satisfying conclusion, even if it stretches plausibility to its limits. I appreciated the intense standoff that unfolds, recognizing that while it may not reflect reality, it provides a thrilling and engaging climax.

Recommendation

"Private Moscow" is a heart-pounding espionage thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. With its relentless action, surprising twists, and a well-crafted blend of mystery and intrigue, James Patterson and Adam Hamdy deliver a gripping read that I highly recommend. “Private Moscow” should be near the top of the must-read list for all adrenaline junkies and thriller enthusiasts.

Great!

I haven't read a book in the Private series for a while, but found this one to be really good. Well-written story, fast-paced, lots of mystery and espionage. As soon as you think you know how its going to turn out, the plot changes course and moves in the opposite direction!

It was a nice change of pace from what I've been reading lately, and now I will look for more in this series.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

Private Moscow is a fun ride! How have I missed this series for so long? Jack Morgan, the head of Private--an international investigation firm, has been asked by an old friend to join him at the NYSE for his friends' IPO. As the bell counts down, his friend is assassinated. Determined to learn why. a scavenger hunt of sorts begins which eventually leads to a seemingly unrelated murder in Moscow. As the story progress, the hunter becomes the hunted when they uncover a plan 50 years in the making coming to fruition.

Although not the most original plot per se, I was still totally hooked from page 1. The story is fast paced with enough action and surprising twists to keep almost anyone entertained. Having no clue this series existed I a had no problem getting the essence of what Private is, or connecting with the main characters. I only wish it hadn't taken me 20 years. Better late than never, I suppose.

Thank you to Grand Central Publishing and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of Private Moscow!

I dived into this one not knowing it was book 15 in a series!! 😩 But that doesn’t matter. It read great as a stand-alone and now I’m determined to go back to book 1 and get caught up on this series!

I’ve read quite a few of James Patterson’s thrillers and this was definitely one of the more enjoyable ones. I’ve really got no complaints and I’d recommend this to fans of fast paced thrillers.

An adrenalin producing race through Moscow as both the hunter and the hunted.

All of the Private books have been great adventures. Private Moscow is no different. Hence, it has the same edge and intrigue as the others. Jack Morgan is the 21st century James Bond. He is handsome, rugged intelligent and fearless. He protects those he cares about and those who are loyal to him.

As expected from James Patterson, this is a good read. It will be a delight to those already Private fans and those experiencing this series for the first time.

Strap on your seatbelt and prepare for a wild ride. Jack Morgan, the owner of the international private investigator firm, is invited to Wall Street for the first day of trading for his friend's company stock. The launch starts off with a bang - literally. From this moment, Jack is deeply involved in discovering who assassinated his friend, and why.

Excellent espionage thriller that takes you from NYC to Moscow, and then onward. The action barely catches a breath before rocketing again. Jack is brilliant, super at everything, and his company has the best and most dedicated staff. I can absolutely see this as an exciting movie.

The story begins with Jack, Head of Private, attending a ceremony for his friend at the NY Stock Exchange. When the time comes to open yje session, his friend is killed. Jack spot the assassin and gives chase. He gets close to catching him but fails. Upon returning, he is arrested for the murder. Once he is released from jail, he makes plans to find the killer and bring justice for his friend. Working with members from his organization, they identify who the next possible victim might be and go to meet her. Jack fails in getting a meeting and when he arrives at the location that she is at, he once again fails. This time they find an item which predicts the next location that the killer will be at.

Jack makes arrrangements to attempt once more saving someone. This time the location is in Moscow where he has an office, but not alot of employees. It so happens that a rich party has hired them to find out who killed a person in a restaurant. Thw two investigators in that office begin their search and in doing so put themselves in danger. When Jack arrives, he notifies his team and they proceed to the location that was identied on the item that Jack found earlier. Once they arrived, they eventually went to an individual's home where again this person was killed. While at that scene Jack and his team were arrested.

To learn what the killings were associated with, who Jack and his team received help from and how everything worked out in the end, then you need to read this book. The ending is well worth it.
