This follow-up to The Soulmate Equation was everything I wanted and more. Jess and River were cute, but Fizzy and Connor absolutely take the cake. She’s a romance novelist and he’s a hot DILF… oh, and a filmmaker, too. When given a project to create a dating show surrounding the accuracy of DNADuo, he seeks out Fizzy to make her the show’s star.

We didn’t get the male perspective in The Soulmate Equation, and I thought this was a great addition to Fizzy and Connor’s story. Their relationship began entirely as lust, but it quickly morphed into more. While the reader knows the two will end up together, the television show adds an element of, “Oh no! What’s going to happen?” What if Fizzy actually begins to develop feelings for one of the contestants?

There is a passage where Fizzy talks about how much she loves her readers. She shares that she wants to make each one feel important when he or she shows up at her signing table. I love when authors put a piece of themselves in their books—I absolutely felt this love when I met Christina and Lauren in person. My sixth CLo and not my last. 🥰

Christina Lauren did it again! This book is fantastic. She never fails to connect the reader with the characters. I would definitely recommend this book if you love romance! I can't wait to see what she does next!

DNF. I tried reading this one multiple times, even when the trope generally isn’t something I gravitate toward, and unfortunately it didn’t hold my attention. So it’d be unfair to force myself to keep reading and judge a book based on something I don’t like. The concept of a dating show just isn’t for me, but maybe one day I’ll give it a shot again, especially because I love the authors.

Fizzy and Conner were funny, well-written characters. Lauren builds upon material from her previous novels and delivers another hit.

Love love love Fizzy!! I was so excited to hear she was finally getting her own book. I loved her crazy aunt vibes and how she poured into Juno and now Stevie as well. I loved the idea of a bachelor like game show, and how everyone knew the real love story all along. I do think Fizzy over reacted at the end and I actually LOVED that they had a character admit to that so quickly and that it was the female MC. I love that Connor didn’t immediately take her back either because he had a right to be hurt and they both needed to atone for things. I thought this was a very mature way to handle an adult relationship because jumping back together immediately is not realistic. I love how they balanced each other out and just felt that they were such a perfect match!

I love Christina and Lauren, but this one just did not impress me as well as their other books. It was still quite enjoyable, though.

@christinalauren never disappoints and the audio of this was so entertaining! I was thrilled to get Fizzy’s story. I fell in love with her in #TheSoulmateEquation and I was so happy to see her have some Main Character energy in this one.

Fizzy is feeling a bit lost. When she is approached to be the lead on a dating show, think the bachelorette, she was weary of accepting. She had conditions. Connor rose to the task and met all of her conditions. He really wants to make documentaries but with his job on the line and being close to his daughter at risk he needs to make a successful show. He doesn’t expect to fall for the lead himself.
.
I absolutely loved this one and not gonna lie I totally would watch this show! I loved these two together and like all #christinalauren books there is a lot of humor, witty banter and a whole lot of heart. Get this one in your beach bag because it’s a perfect read and it comes out tomorrow!

Absolutely loved this! I loved the idea of a reality tv show that also had to do with genetically because I love the soulmate equation so much! I love the chemistry between the two MC’s and Christina Lauren’s books are just really working for me again.

Fizzy is appropriately named as this book is effervescent! I adored this story and all of the aspects of it. Please write more books about fizzy!

I knew the minute that I finished The Soulmate Equation, that Fizzy had main character energy. When I heard that The True Love Experiment was about Fizzy's chance at love, I was ecstatic! Felicity Chen did NOT disappoint. I loved her tenacity, self-confidence, and that she was unapologetic about what she wanted or how people perceived her. I would ABSOLUTELY watch a dating show with her as the lead.

Conner was such a hunk too. I mean, a tall king, single dad (a good one at that), and a funny and sweet guy who is obviously head over heels for Fiz- what more could you ask for in a book boyfriend?! I loved that the book was written in alternating POV from Conner and Fizzy so the character development was there for each MC.

The dating show itself was original too and I loved hearing about the set up- the different "hero" typecasts, the DNAduo matches, and the audience choosing the one who leaves were all great ideas- I wish the show were real! I love the carryover from TSE- it wasn't too much but enough to where it was exciting when something from the previous book was mentioned.

I will say that the main "issue" between Fizzy and Conner was not as exciting as I thought it would be. It just didn't seem like a huge deal and was just kind of hard to believe that it would cause them to have the rift that they had. I did love how they reconnected though and the ending was just so freaking sweet! I love Christen Lauren and will be reading anything they write. They have become an auto-buy author duo for me.

The chemistry is real in this one. Another successful romance from Christina Lauren. I thought Fizzy was a fantastic character

This was not my favorite Christina Lauren book. It wasn't horrible but when I find the MC kind of annoying it just isn't for me. I'm sure many people will love this book like so many other Christina Lauren books but it just fell short for me.

The first couple chapters were iffy for me; I wasn’t sure where this was going. And then I fell headfirst into our story of a romance author becoming the protagonist of a dating show where viewers get to decide who stays and goes, comparing with the science of the DNA test to find your soulmate.

It was witty and I found myself laughing at many of the parts. It was heartwarming. Finished at a 5 star review from me. I loved it!
