I love this book SO MUCH. I liked it better than The Soulmate Equation; it felt the same but different in so many ways. Fizzy was so interesting and it makes sense that she got her own spinoff - she was electric in the first book and definitely a more vibrant personality than Jess (which is very intentional. I find the 'sidekicks' usually are more interesting), so as a main character she was going to shine.
Connor was an incredible love interest and I loved him so much. I liked him better than River because it didn't feel like he was trying so hard to resist his attraction to Fizzy. He was written really well, and I thought there was a lot of great character traits that jumped off the page.
The premises of the book was genius; I love the dating app technology that we were introduced to in the first book but having that combined with a dating show, with a romance author who lost her mojo? It's genius! It feels like an ad libs page in the best way possible.
I really just wish the DNA dating app and the show were real; it was so cute to have all the contestants be different romance tropes. I wish I could watch this play out in real life!
Fizzy and Connor were hot and heavy and it was a slow burn that I was desperate for. It was joyous to read the two of them; they felt like old friends who I was jumping back into bed with. The entire story just leaps into reality and it doesn't even feel like you're reading fiction.
Christina Lauren is not your typical romance writer; their words always seem to jump into your heart and life, and leave you a little different. There are definitely normal romance novel tropes, along with some hot and steam scenes, but at it's core it's about love and learning more about yourself.
The entire DNA series is a bundle of joy and if you want something light, something sweet, something hot, and something to take you out of your reading slump, I cannot recommend The True Love Experiment enough!

So good! I really loved Fizzy and thought the romance was very fun. I liked how all their friends were cheering for them as a couple. I think this will be a huge hit. It's probably my favorite Christina Lauren book.

We are back in the universe of River and Jess. It was fun watching Fizzy do her very own reality tv show based on the GeneticALLY DNA formula. The suitors were fun, and I wouldn’t hate to see some of them again with their own stories. I enjoyed watching the love story that did unfold. Such an easy and fun read. Also, the steam!!! Haha.

Tropes: Romcom, friends to lovers, single dad
Christina Lauren does it again! I always know when I read one of their books I will have a smile on my face! I have read their books for a long time and I absolutely loved this one as I knew I would. Fizzy and Connors banter and relationship was pure perfection. They had great chemistry and I always love a good friends to lovers book.
Christina Lauren have never let me down and this book is truly no exception

This book was so fun! I love Fizzy and Connor so much! They were so sweet together! I love a strong female lead too and Fizzy did not disappoint! This was a fantastic sequel, I might have even loved it more than the first one 😍

I'm so glad Fizzy got a book! She's hilarious and intuitive, truly a character I adored reading! I need to say, firstly, READ THE SOULMATE EQUATION BEFORE THIS ONE! It'll make you appreciate it more. This is my new favorite Christina Lauren book! The story is excellent, the main character is a joy to read, and CONNOR! I can't go into anything for fear of spoilers, but he's ALL THE PERFECTION you want in a book boyfriend.
And of course, the banter! They're forever, hands down, the best at creating a fun and flirty dynamic between characters that make you love reading them on the page.
A must read!

I don't remember much about this book because I was in a slump. I did mark it as four star rating after all according to goodreads but never wrote a review. (Been in process of moving and planning a wedding.)
Thank you Netgalley and publishers for allowing the chance to read and review.

Christina Lauren did it again! Their banter is great and the storyline is perfect for a beach read. I adored this book and as an admitted reality dating show addict, this book was right up my alley.

I loved the second book of this series and was so excited to see a book with Fizzy as the main character. It was so engaging and I couldn't out the book down! The perfect summer read!

The reality dating show plot is unoriginal and wasn’t executed well. The characters had little depth to them and I found myself not caring about their romance. The MC was also annoying and I skimmed a lot of her dialogue. They reminded me of Ali Hazelwood characters because she reminds you over and over about how big her dude is and the dude reminds you about how beautiful she is. This was one of my anticipated books this year, so this is a bummer.

Another hit from Christina Lauren! I loved this book, it was the perfect follow up to the first one.

Christina Lauren has done it yet again.
Felicity, Fizzy to her friends, is a romance writer who has slammed head first into writers block - and a sexual block if you want to get right down to it. When she agrees to star on a dating show to find her true love, she finds herself looking at the lead producer, Connor, in a way she couldn't have predicted.
This book was so, so fun. It was a different take 21st century romance, and shows like The Bachelor, and I loved every minute of it. When I picked it up I wasn't aware it was tied to another one of Lauren's books (The Soulmate Equation), so I will definitely be picking that one up next!

I adored this book! Every last bit of it. I even got a chance to get my book signed during the tour!! Christina and Lauren are just as lovely in person. 😊
As Christina Lauren’s love letter to romance novels, The True Love Experiment follows Fizzy Chen, a romance writer who is stuck in a rut in both her writing and romance. Then she meets Connor who proposes a new Bachelorette style reality show with Fizzy at its center. She dates 8 romance archetypes and the audience votes for her true love. Fizzy joins, hoping to get her Fizzy-ness back, but whoops, she MIGHT be falling for her producer.
My god I missed Fizzy, Jess, and River. Fizzy is just hilarious and I loved her energy. And Jess and Fizzy’s friendship? Goals. I also loved River’s ability to walk into every awkward scene. I also loved the new characters, Connor, Natalia, and Stevie. Nat was a great voice of reason and confidante to Connor and their daughter Stevie was adorable. Connor was also a great match for Fizzy—he was sweet, funny, and adored her.
I loved the setting of a reality show, and the premise of the show was hilarious. I loved that each of Fizzy’s suitors fit a book-hero-type (Cinnamon Roll, Mr. Darcy, Vampire, etc). Connor being the producer just added some extra drama.
While I LOVED The Soulmate Equation, you don’t have to read it to read The True Love Experiment (although you totally should).
Four Stars!
Thank you Netgalley and Gallery Books!

Fizzy is a popular romance author with terrible writers block and umm…sexual block. When a stranger approaches her about starring in a reality show, she decides she will go for it, but on her terms that she assumes can never be met. Connor, aka handsome stranger, not only meets the terms, but unintentionally wiggles his way right into Fizzy’s heart. Connor tries to control his feelings. The reality show spells out very specifically he cannot have a relationship with her. Will they be able to resist one another in this True Love Experiment?
This is a fun book. Slightly different take on romance and very 21st century! I will definitely recommend this to customers that enjoy a good, sometimes steamy romance!

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and Christina Lauren for this ARC version of this story.
I adore this book. Easily one of my very favorites and my new favorite by the authors. Fizzy is such a fun character and I truly enjoyed every minute of her story. The reality TV element was new for me and was great. I love that she is a romance novelist herself and how this tied in with her own career. The relationship between Fizzy and Connor is amazing. I'm not sure they could be more different but they fit together so perfectly and made it easy to cheer them on in this book. It is such a fun, feel good, romantic comedy.
This book is a "spin off" from The Soulmate Equation and I recommend reading it first to learn more about the characters. The character and plot cross over into The True Love Experiment was seamless.
I highly recommend this book.

Honestly, I expected more from this book! It encapsulated Fizzy's personality well, but I had a hard time believing the relationship between her and the leading man. It had plenty of laugh-out-loud moments that help boost my rating. It was a great premise and brought back some memorable characters from the first book.

This is my first Christina Lauren book (how? why?), and I am in love. So funny. So hot. So perfect. I am obsessed and off to procure their extensive backlist and fully blow up my TBR pile. #cizzyforever

Okay, so admittedly, romance isn't really my normal wheelhouse as far as genre fiction goes. I'd never read anything else by the author but saw this in someone's video and immediately found myself drawn to the cover -- it's so eye=catching! I ended up liking this a lot more than expected, - it was fun, and at times surprisingly emotional! I cried, lmao. Will definitely be checking out more from the author!

If I am looking for a fun, light, beach-type read, Christina Lauren books never disappoint. The True Love Experiment is a follow-up to The Soulmate Equation, with best friend, Fizzy, as this book’s main character.
The book, told from two different POVs, was fun, witty and definitely NSFW! The chemistry between the two characters was off the charts and I was rooting for the two of them throughout the book.
While there were a couple plot points that were a bit frustrating, overall, the book was enjoyable and kept me entertained.
Thank you to NetGalley and Gallery Books for an advanced copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

I love Christina Lauren's books, but I could not get into this one. The characters and the world felt a bit flat and formulaic. THE TRUE LOVE EXPERIMENT didn't have that usual verve and spark as their usual stories.
Recommend if you love romcoms, but if you haven't read their other books, I would read one of those first.
