Lucy's past has come back to haunt her.
The best crime procedural book that I have read in a long time. Putting the pieces together was challenging and rewarding.

Enjoyed this book mostly, there were a few "stodgy" pages but I ploughed through! The first part of this book is very enjoyable but sort of lost itself in the second half! Not a bad book but couldn't read it again!
Many thanx to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for allowing me the chance to read and review this book

This is a great story. A whirlwind of danger and deception awaits in this spellbinding thriller, making it impossible to stop reading until you've unraveled it all. I couldn’t put it down.

"The Girl in the Cabin (A Lucy Kendall Crime Thriller Book 3)" by Stacy Green is a gripping and intense addition to the series that'll keep you hooked with its intricate mystery and compelling protagonist.

The Lucy Kendall series is one you don’t want to miss. They can be read as stand alone as the author gives enough info for you to be able to follow along.

Stacy Green is definitely on my favorite author list because of this series.

Stacy Green https://stacygreenauthor.com/books-by-stacy-green is the author of more than 20 novels. The Lonely Girls was published in 2023 and is the fourth novel in her Lucy Kendall crime series. It is the 36th book I completed reading in 2023.

Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own! Due to scenes of violence, I categorize this novel as R. The primary character is former Private Investigator Lucy Kendall. Now she is a case manager for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

A dead girl is found in a remote Maryland cabin. When Kendall views the scene, she is surprised to see that it has been staged to remind Kendall of her sister’s death. The girl clutches a coin identical to the one Kendall received in the mail. Kendall’s name is scrawled on the mirror above the body. The connection is even stronger when the young girl, Shannon Minor, is identified as one of Kendall’s clients when she was with Child Protective Services. The killer is targeting her.

Her closest friend Kelly is abducted, and Kendall is given 48 hours to rescue her. As she follows the available clues, the killer taunts her with Kelley’s slow but steady decline. Kendall has made many enemies. Who is responsible?

Kendall is no stranger to danger and death. She has stalked and dispatched child molesters that have evaded the justice system. A few law enforcement officers suspect her, but none have attempted to prove her connection with murder victims. She had hoped to put her past behind her, but the killer isn’t going to let go.

I enjoyed the 6.5+ hours I spent reading this 296-page mystery. This is the fourth novel by Stacy Green that I have read. The others were The Girl in the Pink Shoes, Little Lost Souls, and The Girl in the Cabin. Those are the first three novels in the Lucy Kendall series. All four have been good mysteries with surprising plot twists. I like the chosen cover art. I give this novel a rating of 4.4 (rounded to 4) out of 5.

The surprises in this book made me stay up late reading. I needed to know how it ended. Lucy became more annoying than the last book with her attitude around saving her friend. But the plot was stellar, Lucy does unravel a bit more which is nice to see and I was pleased with the ending. I would like to know more about John and see more if that family in the future.

of all things holy... I've stuck with this series from the begging and if I'm honest the books got better as they went.
I had an inkling I was going to find out something in this book after book 3... and I was NOT disappointed!

Went on such a roller coast with Lucy from start to finish and the NEED to carrying on reading was definitely there! OMG the fear for Kelly in the book was real! The end of this book could not have been any better, I'm so glad it ended well :)

Huge fan of this series - the author's writing just sucks you in and holds you captive. Love the characters. Lucy's past comes back to haunt her in this addition to the series. Well told, love the suspense.

This series continues to amaze. I get sucked in from the beginning each time and finally turned loose at the end. I love the characters they feel like people you know. The writing makes me feel like I am right there and part of the investigation. Loved it all!

Stacy Green does such a great job of twisting and turning the characters through all 4 books. She wraps everything up with a bow in the last one.

The Lonely Girls is the stunning conclusion to the story of Lucy Kendall and the many damaged people we have been introduced to, throughout the book series. As we last saw Lucy, she had saved Chris from his mother/Martha and decided to take up the federal job dealing with child safety. Just when she thinks she has left her past behind and begins to believe that she could live a constructive life helping kids without harming others, a murderer tries to communicate with her through a writing in his latest murder site.

Lucy once again sets out in search for the person who killed using her as an excuse. Her search leads her back to her past, trying to find the person who might have a grudge against her and her old instincts are particularly triggered when Kelly, the person she is the most closest to, is kidnapped by the murderer. When Lucy finds the identity of the culprit, the reader will be as shocked as her; let's just say I most definitely didn't see that coming.

The storytelling was as taut as the other books; it was even more chilling and disturbing than the other books actually. The story started off at top gear and just stayed there. The characters race against time and the reader feel the rush along with these people. However, what I loved the most about the book is the way Green managed to make me empathize with and understand Lucy; she is neither vulnerable nor very likable. But still when I completed the series, I actually connected with her to some extent. The author has given her a wonderful arc and has written it very beautifully.

Overall, I had a wonderful experience reading this book and would recommend it to anyone who like to read well- written psychological thrillers featuring damaged and 'abnormal' people.

I really enjoyed this book. It’s the fourth book in the series.
I can’t wait for the next book. I’m really getting into these serial killers

I love Stacey Green's Nikki Hunt series so was very excited to read the Lucy Kendall thrillers , all 4 were released together and it probably took me less than a week to read all 4 .
Lucy is not our typical heroine , she operates from a deep dark past and feels obliged to meet out vigilante justice to those she believes deserve it , this doesn't always keep her on the right side of the law , but she has a good support system that just about keep her grounded . Fascinating routing for an anti hero , well written , well paced and I really hope there are more .............. This has a film/TV adaption written all over it

I absolutely loved the final instalment of the Lucy Kendall series, the story wrapped up well for all characters, with a twist that I didn’t see coming!

The Lonely Girls is the 4th book in the Lucy Kendall Series. It was originally published under the name All Fall Down. Lucy has a new job with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Then Lucy's closest friend and teammate is kidnapped and Lucy is in a race against time to find her. She has 48 hrs to find Kelly.

Lucy is someone we've all wanted to be at some point. We here about wrongs committed against children and want to be vigilantes. I think that's why she's so relatable. Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC.
