These comics show the very real struggle that we face in fearing judgement and not knowing how people see and perceive us. We all just want to be seen and loved as we are, but sometimes we feel the need to hide behind mask of some kind or another…

I absolutely loved reading all of these on Webtoons, I am so excited that they are getting printed in English (though I was very tempted to buy them in Korean)

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC

This was a very sweet and cute graphic novel. The one thing that makes me crack up the most is how the author highlights the ugly and beautiful faces with the same amount of energy.

This volume was too nostalgic to the kdrama and I'm planning to watch it again because I just miss it too much. I enjoyed reading this volume, even more than the first one.

I really enjoyed the story and how everything turned out at the end, however my mistake was starting reading from this volume. I still have plans on a proper reread though.

Thank you netgalley and the publisher for the chance of reading the e-arc

I really enjoyed the first book and this was was okay as well but the storyline is just all over the place.

This story is very good! It's both funny & romantic. It is your teen story with a love triangle, and a make over that has both comedic timing & teen romance. It is very relatable for people of all ages. I really enjoyed the story and how easy it is to get into.

Yaongyi did it again! This volume was just as hilarious as the first volume but somehow the drama is even juicier!!

There is a love triangle beginning to form (womp womp) but I still enjoyed it. Also Seojun? Whew. I know I should root for Suho but Seojun is so fine and so bad!! I can’t help liking him!

In this volume, Yaongyi adds depth to characters from previous volumes. I wasn’t ready to start feeling sympathy for Sujin! Bruh. Just when I thought I had her all figured out.

Jugyeong is so sweet and easy to root for. Her budding friendship with Gowoon was the highlight of this volume. The way Gowoon opened up to Jugyeong about being bullied really moved me. That whole scene really struck a chord with me.

In my review for volume 1, I hoped for a more in depth discussion of lookism and outward appearance. Vol. 2 lays the ground work nicely!

The abrupt ending was murder. Cannot wait for volume 3!

I loved the first volume of True Beauty and I was so happy to be approved once again to view the eARC of this second volume! *this review will contain some spoilers*

This time it's the gorgeous Suho gracing us on the cover and the first chapter places him in the central focus. Eventually we go back to Jugyeong's PoV (this is still her story after all) but fans of romance will be happy that all throughout, Suho nails the LI beats really good! He's not impossibly perfect, but enough to really make you root for him and Jugyeong to be end game.

Speaking of Jugyeong, part of why i love this series is that it doesn't shy away from examining the dark side of the characters' stories, especially when it examines Jugyeong's relationship with appearances. Like, living a double life like she does will undeniably make her more open to unraveling those things - it keeps her from just focusing on toxic beauty standards and makes her a more rounded character- and I absolutely love that she's more open and accepting of the lessons being a "non-standard" beauty teaches her.

Another thing I loved about this volume is Sujin's redemption (?) arc. I can't remember how prominent she was in the first book, but here, a chapter is dedicated to unpacking her baggages. And although we really don't get to the peak and resolution of her storyline, I am excited and compelled enough to get the third volume if only to see her again. (I love me some villainous heroines!!)

Other things I enjoyed:
+ Jugyeong's sister is the second MC! LOL (i love the date disaster)
+ Page 206 - 208 is just my jammmm!!! 💕
+ it ends abruptly in the final pages but it only made me want to buy the next volume, so good job on marketing!

I highly recommend this series so go get it when you can!!

Picking up where the first volume left of, I think that True Beauty vol. 2 does a great job at further elaborating on previous plot points as well as introducing us to a series of new and interesting plots/characters. I love to see the development and progression of Jugyeong and Suho, as well as the introduction of antagonists that continue to keep the plot interesting. I am so happy to see more webtoon being brought to print, and allowing individuals greater access to fantastic reads like True Beauty.

This volume contents episode 14-26 of the hit Webtoon comic.

The story is starting to get even more interesting! I just want to keep reading can’t wait for the other volumes to be translated! A True Beauty fan in the making.

Jugyeong and Suho start to develop feelings for each other. But a new guy called Seojun makes things a little more interesting… maybe the start of a love triangle?

True Beauty Volume Two by Yaongyi was posted as a webcomic on webtoon which is where I originally read the story. The comic follows the main character's journey from being bullied and disliked to finally finding her true self while gaining popularity for her makeup skills via online tutorials. The comic is short but incredibly powerful. It moved me in ways that I didn’t think possible, and it has since inspired and motivated me to live my best life and become the best version of myself that I can be.

This book reads very slow-paced in the middle but as this was originally a webcomic read in sections the flow makes sense if you read it in small chunks.

I was a long-term fan from reading the webcomic online waiting for each release and it's translated wonderfully over to a paperback version with a beautiful illustration on the cover that sums up the main premise of the book perfectly, "Real beauty comes from within".

Overall I really 4/5 Stars from me.

Now I do love this series, but there's just something about reading it in a book format that's weird to me.

Again, the content is either a love or hate. It deals with a lot of self worth being determined by beauty, which some people like cause it's realistic and others hate cause it's promoting it. Regardless, I still think it's a good display of how a lot of young girls think.

It feels weird in a book format I think because it's long. Like, a traditional manga feels like it moves faster since it's all read at once, but a webtoon being released weekly, if it stays on the same general topic for longer is somehow doesn't feel as long? Anyways, what I think I'm trying to say is I think it feels more slow reading it all back to back.

I still adore this webtoon though.

Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for providing me with the free arc in exchange for my honest review.

As someone who has been following Yaongyi for a while now, I am so glad that their work is finally coming up for everyone to experience.
I can not wait for the other instalments and see the story unfold. The story IS a little predictable but it's about school students and this simplicity is what makes me relax after a tiring day.

I hope I get to read the next books in the series as well.

What I really enjoy about this second installment is how much more interaction the main character had with other characters. I actually really enjoy the love triangle aspect, I think it adds depth and leaves you hanging on what will happen. I think what this volume does really well is show the parental favoritism middle children could face. Not all parents encourage you to strive for your dreams, and that is displayed really well here without being distasteful..
As always I enjoyed this volume of True Beauty, I've watched the k-drama and read the webtoon actively for a long time. I enjoy the message and I think it's a very important and present thing in modern day life, battling the stigma of perfected image and how heavily looks impact how we are treated and judged.

Thank you to Netgalley. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This is another installment for the popular Korean webtoon "True Beauty". This volume introduced other characters for our main protagonist, providing a rival and more back story to the character I assume is the main love interest. I keep enjoying this story  more and more with it's loveable characters and hilarious humor. The "ugly" funny faces crack me up every time. Great artwork and story. I am looking forward to the following volumes and can't wait to see what else is in store.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an e-arc of this volume!

3.5 stars rounded up to 4.

We see a lot happening in this second installment of True Beauty. Our main character, Jugyeong, is seen interacting with a lot of characters both old and new in the this volume. She gets a boyfriend, loses a boyfriend, meets more boys, and continues her internal conflicts. We see a lot happening with Jugyeong and her relationships with her family (I hate her mom lol), and she even establishes that she wants to go to beauty school. Her friendship with Suho prospers, and we even get a small glimpse into the possibility that he might have feelings for her.

Overall it was funny and the art was great, but there are a lot of moving parts in this installment so I found myself having to re-read parts in order to remember everything that was happening.

This was an amazing sequel to the first book! I read it in one sitting, not able to put it down! I can't wait to continue with the story.

True Beauty is a great Webtoon to start off on. It begins with an enticing storyline and - contrary to other opinions - I love the love triangle. Fair warning though, the story becomes longwinded after a while so be prepared.
