Tress and Max are expecting their first baby in 3 weeks when Max heads out for a business meeting. Tress sends him off with love not knowing that she will soon be going into labor and not be able to get in contact with him.
At the same time, Max’s best friend Noah is saying good bye to his wife, Anya, who is also heading off on a business trip. When Anya accidentally leaves her laptop at home after fighting with Noah before she left, Noah decides to take a look at it and finds something’s that he never expected and decides to go track Anya down and confront her. But on the way, he comes upon an accident, and that accident turns his world upside down.
While Tress is in labor her neighbors Nancy and Val have been watching over her and taking good care of her until Noah gets back and meets her at the hospital.
The story takes place over the course of one day and is broken into two hour intervals and told from various POV and is absolutely heartbreaking and painful and there are several triggers but it is well written and does have a happy ending.
Thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for this eArc in exchange for my review.

This book is absolutely amazing. I read it in one sitting! I love the idea that all the events happened over the course of 24 hours. The book was both exhilarating and full of sadness. One of the things this book will do is make you think about your actions, and how they can effect someone else. My favorite characters were both Tress and Noah – both of them were such so full of strength and love. I didn’t know what I was getting into when I read this book, but I’m sure glad I read it! It is one of the most touching books that I have read every. I highly recommend this book to absolutely everyone.

This is one of the best books I've read in awhile. The blurb tells you this will be an emotional story but I was not prepared for how invested in the story I would be. One day can go by in a flash and a lot can change in that day. These 24 hours will test the characters in ways they could not imagine. Low does an excellent job of telling this heartwarming and heartbreaking story. Highly recommend!!

Four characters tell this beautiful, heart-wrenching story from their perspective during a twenty-four-hour period.

Content Warning: Death, Dementia, Infidelity

This story made me feel all the feelings and almost made me cry. Through the character's different perspectives, I felt each character's panic, hurt, confusion, and worries as the story progressed.

Nancy and Val were my favorites. I appreciated that they were the comic relief when things started to get heavy, even though they had their own issues. Their friendship and loyalty, not only to each other but also to others, were admirable.

Noah was a great character. He faced an impossible situation but managed to find a way to put his feelings aside to be the doctor everyone needed.

I loved how the story's events bonded these friends and made them a family.

Thank you, Shari Low, Boldwood Books, and NetGalley, for the advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review!

Thank you to my partner, Boldwood Books/Book and Tonic, NetGalley, and the author, Shari Low - I appreciate the gifted ecopy, and I am leaving this review voluntarily!

1. Betrayal - An ultimate betrayal that is a shocking revelation when the truth comes to light.

2. Devastating Endings - A numbing event that seems impossible when it happens.

3. New Beginnings - A moment of ultimate joy in the midst of the unthinkable. And the possibility of finding another love in life.

4. Impossible Forgivenesses - Moments of forgiveness that I don’t know if I could give.

5. True Friendships and Love - A group of friends that give the love that everyone needs no matter the time of day.

This is such a powerful novel and one that will stick with me for a long time. It garners so much thought and speculation and made me question my strength of forgiveness. Truly - go out and find this one as soon as you can.

Wow, this was a roller coaster ride of a book! I had a hard time putting it down and couldn't wait to pick it back up! I love that this was unpredictable, I did not have expected. One day, 24 hours. And everything can change. 4 best friends. 5 lives. And 2 neighbors. A whole lot of love, a whole lot of lies. Tragedy, reality, forgiveness, moving forward. One amazing story!

This book is heartwarming and heartbreaking in equal measure
I was drawn in instantly and needed to know what happened desperately. I read this book in under 24hrs, and after finishing I was hungry for more. I think there is definitely scope for a à sequel/novella. I have Shari Low before but not this genre but I definitely need to pick up more.

One Day With You by Shari Low

I received an advance review copy for free thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Blurb

One day, five lives, but whose hearts will be broken by nightfall?
It started like any other day in the picturesque village of Weirbridge.

Tress Walker waved her perfect husband Max off to work, with no idea that she was about to go into labour with their first child. And completely unaware that when she tried to track Max down, he wouldn’t be where he was supposed to be.

At the same time, Max’s best friend Noah Clark said goodbye to his wife, Mya, blissfully oblivious that he would soon discover the woman he adored had been lying to him for years.

And living alongside the two couples, their recently widowed friend, Nancy Jenkins, is getting ready to meet Eddie, her first true love at a school reunion. Will Nancy have the chance to rekindle an old flame, or will she choose to stay by Tress’s side when she needs her most?

One Day with You - two fateful goodbyes, two unexpected hellos, and 24 hours that change everything.

My Opinion

I didn't connect with this book. The majority of the book takes places over one day which I find doesn't work for me. I know that I am in the minority not enjoying this book but I was disappointed - the first chapter grabbed my attention and didn't manage to hold onto it for long.

This will appeal to fans of Shari Low's writing style.

Rating 3/5

I’ve read many books by this author, so knew I was going to be in for an emotional ride, but oh my goodness, what are you trying to do to me?!! This was such a fabulous read! We meet two couples Tress and Max Walker and their good friends, Noah and Anya Clark. Thanks to some very bad decisions made by two of the group, their lives change for ever in the space of a few hours. Max and Tress are on the verge of being parents, but Tress didn’t realise that she would go into labour just after she’s waved Max off on a business trip. Anya is also off on a business trip but leaves in a hurry following a discussion with Noah about their relationship, leaving her laptop behind. Noah, trying to get a message through to her about it, finds out some things about his wife’s business trip which he doesn’t understand and sets out to find her.

This was such a rollercoaster of a read. Whilst I sort of had an inkling about some of the story, I didn’t guess where it was going in the end, and I was left absolutely glued to their stories. Of course, the four main characters were split into the “good guys” and the “bad guys” camp with Tress and Noah firmly being the good ones! I really liked their characters - you could easily relate to and sympathise with them! Of course, you knew that some point in the book their lives would be turned upside down, and that kept me rooting that they would both get through everything!

The book was so well written, it really captured me into the essence of the characters stories. Told from the perspectives of the different characters, the chapters flow effortlessly and uncomplicatedly throughout the book. We also have the added addition of Tress’s older friends, Val and Nancy. Whilst I initially wondered why their stories were in it, they really did provide a welcome light relief from all the sadness and grief which were surrounding Tress, Max, Noah and Anya. Val and Nancy raised a few smiles, a couple of laughs and a heart-warming escape.

This was such an amazing story. I cried and cried throughout, particularly towards the end, so make sure you have a box of tissues at the ready! It showed the tangled web of lies and secrets that people weave and the far reaching consequences of their actions. Highly enjoyable, unable to put down and captivating! Would definitely recommend!

One Day With You by Shari Low

Another great book by this author. She manages to really bring her characters to life and you can imagine some of them being the type of person you would have as one of your friends.
Told over 24 hours , and the situations the characters find themselves in are totally believable.
It's like going to a cafe and hearing two friends telling each other about their best of days and worse of days.

First off I want to thank @netgalley, @bookandtonic & @sharilowbooks for my free ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

If you want to have your heart destroyed and then put back together this book will do all of it. The concept was great, this all happens in a 24h span, you truly get to know the characters from each chapter.

The writing was good but I did have some trouble with the language in some parts, which made it harder sometimes for me to connect with the story. The book does move at a good pace but during the middle I did want the pace to pick up.

Overall I did enjoy this book, the topics discussed and how one decision can alter the course of your life. It was well executed. The epilogue at the end ensures that you have your answers and closures which is a bonus point for me. I'm excited to read more from this author.

If you want a well written heatwrenching read with realistic topics definitely add this to your list !

One Day With You is a heartbreakingly emotional read that had me reaching for the tissues on more than one occasion. I loved the concept of this book being set over just one day and I thought the characters were all well written and believable.

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for my ARC.

Thank you Boldwood Books for the opportunity to participate in the 24 hour read along of One Day With You by Shari Low on publication day.
Wow blown away, my emotions have been through the wringer today and I devoured the book in one day too!
Family is important but friends can be just as, if not more so, important depending on each persons set up. Secrets always come out but can they be forgiven? This book is set mainly over one day which felt like a lifetime, I loved the characters each coming into their own and developing right to the end, which was beautiful. Thoroughly recommend!

Another masterpiece from Shari Low, she has a talent for making you care about the characters and becoming fully invested in the story. This one is heartwrenching and is about family, friendship and infidelity. My heart was torn in two and I fully felt for Tressa and Noah. The birth of little Noah is a blessing in disguise and I'm glad that the friends formed there own family. I felt a lot of emotions while reading but I mainly felt anger and heartbreak. The book is beautifully written and I highly recommend.

One day. Two couples. Five people who will have their lives changed.

This book grabbed my attention from the very first page and didn't let go. I read this in one day as part of Boldwood Books Readalong series. I did not want to put this book down, so I didn't. I felt for certain characters, got angry at others, admired some, and shared a laugh with others. Over the course of one day, your life can change in so many ways.

When Tress Walker waved goodbye to her husband, Max, on his way to a conference, she had no idea that soon she would be going into labor. When her water broke and contractions began, she could not reach her husband. He was not answering her calls.

Max's best friend, Noah Clark, also said goodbye to his wife, Anya, that morning, who was also on her way to a conference. They had tense words the night before and he wanted to reach out to her. When she didn't answer her phone, he called her office and learned his wife had lied to him.

Nancy Jenkins, their outspoken and reliable neighbor is getting her hair done before meeting her first love at a reunion. But when Tress calls needing a ride to the hospital, she has a decision to make.

WOWZA! I could not help but feel sorry while also admiring both Tress and Noah. What a day they both had. Both are good, kind and likeable characters. Both had their worlds turned upside down. Noah had to learn the truth the hard way and have his heart broken in so many ways. Yet, he remained professional, kind and was a rock for Tress as she gave birth. Tress was loving and wise. She didn't deserve how her day turned out either but handled it with grace. I also loved Val and Nancy and their friendship and strength. Who wouldn't want to take the bull by the horns as they sometimes did when people were annoying them. Nancy was a hoot!

I loved how every chapter was a character's POV. There were times in this book, I found myself thinking "No, no, no, no, no!" and others where I felt various emotions. This book was equal parts gripping, tense and emotional. It's heartbreaking but ends on a hopeful note.

Man, I was not expecting to feel so much when I started this book. This would make a fantastic book club selection. There is so much to discuss here. I found this book to be well written and well thought out. I also enjoyed the pacing.

This was my first book by Shari Low and I look forward to reading more of her books in the future.

Gripping, heartbreaking, tense and hard to put down!

If there is one takeaway from this book, it is the reminder that we should make the most of today because tomorrow is not promised to us. A heart wrenching book peppered with humour from a few stand out characters featured in previous books by this author. Tress and Max are eager to be parents and the birth of their first baby is imminent. Noah and Anya seem to have hit a rough patch in their marriage, and Nancy is wondering if she really should attend her school’s 50th reunion and connect with her old flame. Their lives are changed forever during a 24-hour period.

This was such an emotional book with well developed characters that you couldn't help but feel for what they were all going through. That the main part of this book was set over just one day just shows how much can change in so little time!
The authors skill in winding all the stories around each other to such a fabulous ending makes me want to look out for more of their books as I thoroughly enjoyed this read.

"We were the dive. The short, crazy moments of excitement that gave you a high and made you feel invincible, like you were amazing, that you could do anything"

One Day With You is a story taking place in 24 hours. It is 24 hours of incredibly harsh reality. It is the 24 hours in which numerous lives completely change. In One Day With You, we meet Tress, who is about to give birth to a son she had never expected to have. We also meet Max, Tress' husband, who is ready to say a final goodbye to someone. We meet Max's best friend Noah, who is trying to figure out who he is and what is wrong with his wife Anya. We also meet the neighbor of the two couples, Nancy, who is about to go to her high school reunion and meet up with the one she thought got away....

Where do I even begin with this one. I mean, this story was just one serious dumpster fire of sad. If you are not ready to have your heart ripped out, shred to a million pieces, and stomped on for good measure, don't. Just don't. However, if you are looking for a story that makes you evaluate some of your own beliefs about forgiveness (especially around infidelity) and hope, this may well be an inspiring choice.

Despite this being such a heavy story, the characters are larger than life, and bring humor, lightness and a certain life savvy into the book that somehow kept me reading. As always with a book being told from various perspectives, no less than four in this case, I was drawn to some more than others, but the combination of the four ultimately made for a good, complete story. One that left me a little broken.

This is the first book I have read by Shari Low, but it definitely won't be my last. I loved the concept of a story that takes place over the course of a day. It was helpful that the author provided a brief description of the cast of characters in the beginning. She also threw in back stories throughout the book and an epilogue to tie up the loose ends. Be prepared for an emotional story! Thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for an advance copy to read and review.

One day can really change your whole life. That's the moral of the book, 'One Day with You'. The books focuses on five characters: Tress and Max (who are married and expecting their first baby together), Anya and Noah (who are married, and Noah has been best friends with Max since they were children), and Nancy (who is their recently widowed neighbor. She has known Max and Noah since they were little.)

The story switches viewpoints from the main characters, and it takes you on a journey! It all takes place on one day, February 9, 2023. The sections are broken down into hours of the same day. I liked that storytelling structure. On this particular day, Tress goes into early labor, Nancy is preparing for her 50 year reunion, Anya and Max are going on a trip together, and Noah is off from his job as a doctor. The day starts out like any other, but things quickly change and it doesn't end up like anyone thought it would.

I liked how the author, Shari Low, put in a focus on Nancy and her reunion. I liked the characters of Nancy and Val and how their stories connected with each other.

The story was very sad and, in some way, also hopeful. One of the main themes is forgiveness. Sometimes, it takes time to forgive, and other times, forgiveness will never be found. This was profoundly evident in this story.

The epilogue wrapped things up nicely, and it left most of the characters in a good place.

Without giving away any spoilers, I struggled to fully relate to some of the characters. I didn't feel connected to them, and I didn't feel as emotionally connected as I thought I would be. I'm someone who cries at commercials, but this book didn't make me cry. I felt sad about some of the things that happened, but I didn't feel as much of an impact as I anticipated.

I participated in the One Day With You 24 hour readalong to celebrate the publishing of this book on January 20. Thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the ARC of this book.
