Oh my word, what an incredible story full of love and heartache but handled so well by the characters, so wonderfully written, fantastic

I started One Day With You with little knowledge of what the book was about. I am quickly becoming a believer of reading most books this way.

One Day With You is heartbreaking and yet life affirming at the same time. It tackles some tough subjects in a gripping and tactful way.

Tress is unexpectedly pregnant after giving up hope it would ever happen. Her husband Max is leaving on a business trip three weeks prior to her due date. When Tress goes into early labor, she can't get in touch with Max and worries he won't be able to get back in time for the birth.

I loved all the close relationships in this book. Max and Noah, friends since school, the neighbor in her 60's and her best friend and Noah is like a brother to Tress. The neighbor and her friend add some much needed comic relief to the serious situations.

I have read one previous book by this author and after reading this one I am a big fan of her writing. If you are in need of a book with all the feels this is the one for you.

Thanks to netgalley and Boldwood Books for the arc.

🤐What a difference a day makes: brilliant!

I found this Shari Low novel incredibly moving. I just can't get over the author's ability to cram so many emotions into a story that takes place in just twenty-four hours! And her writing, her characterizations, her scenarios just made me want to keep reading, start to finish, in one go.

Two individuals in apparently loving marriages but with deep secrets set off a whole raft of emotions among their family and friends when they each depart one morning and swiftly go incommunicado. A very pregnant wife, her loving and concerned neighbors, and a confused husband all feel the devastating effects of their actions. And, ultimately, they pick up their lives and move on but the aftershocks mean they can never go back to as it was. Tragedy and deep guilt and feelings of betrayal mix with hope and new beginnings: a combination that made this story work so well at preying on my emotions.

The author focuses on a group of key characters and their hour by hour experiences on the day that changes everything.

I loved the inclusion of 66 year-old widow/neighbor Nancy and her feisty spirit as she anticipates a class reunion that may re-ignite the flame for her first high school love. She's set for some surprises but she's also steadfast in her support for her BFF Val, her very pregnant neighbor Tress, and Noah, one of the boys from the neighborhood who's grown into a thoughtful, caring pediatric doctor. And she adds some whimsy and humor, whether bantering with her gal pals or rushing around the hospital in a feather-laden party dress and slippers.

Loved it! Strongly recommended.

Thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

Thanks so much NetGalley and Boldwood books! I like Shari Low‘s books because they tug at your heartstrings.

This book follows the lives of many who are all connected somehow. The main event is Tress giving birth, but she can’t find her husband. Her husband’s best friend is Noah who is a doctor, and he is at the hospital. He can’t find his wife Anya. Nancy and Val are helping Tress. There is tragedy, betrayal, forgiveness, hope, grief all rolled into one. I was sad and happy. Their is a tenderness to the author’s writing that really elevates this book.

A powerful and emotional story. Shari Low books are always awesome and this is as amazing as her previous books..
Flawed humans making bad decisions that have repercussions that you can never imagine.
A page turner that I read through my tears.
Friends since junior school and now in mid thirties Max and Noah are still very much good friend's and socialize with their wives regularly. An early start to baby's arrival starts a chain of events that are powerful.

Oh my word this author has done it again ripped my heart out and torn it to pieces and then slowly pieces it back together again.

Love how this author writes about real people and real situations and really gets to the heart of emotions and the human condition and one day with you was no exception.

I couldn’t put this down and once has started reading read it in practically one sitting

I absolutely loved this book and read it in a day as I just couldn’t put it down! It tells the story of 2 couples, Tress and Max and Anya and Noah, and how their lives are changed forever over the course of just one day. Tress is pregnant with their first child and waves her husband off to work on what starts off as a seemingly normal day. The events unfold as the day goes on and had me totally hooked. I laughed out loud, I cried and I felt every emotion that Tress was feeling as often do with the characters in Shari’s books. Great to see Val, one of my all time favourites, making an appearance in this one too.
I loved it so much, I’d give it 6 starts if I could ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Over the space of one day lives are changed permanently, as with all Shari Low books I've read, I laughed and cried. Realistic characters that you could imagine being friends with. I loved Val and Nancy, a heartwarming friendship and support for Tress, despite their own heartaches they are there for Tress on the best and worst day of her life.
A wonderful heartwarming story. I was gifted this book from Netgalley and Boldwood Books with no obligation to leave my review

One Day With You by Shari Low.
One day, five lives, but whose heart will be broken by nightfall? It started like any other day in the picturesque village of Weirbridge.
Tress Walker waved her perfect husband Max off to work, with no idea that she was about to go into labour with their first child. And completely unaware that when she tried to track Max down, he wouldn’t be where he was supposed to be.
At the same time, Max’s best friend Noah Clark said goodbye to his wife, Anya, blissfully oblivious that he would soon discover the woman he adored had been lying to him for years.
And living alongside the two couples, their recently widowed friend, Nancy Jenkins, is getting ready to meet Eddie, her first true love at a school reunion. Will Nancy have the chance to rekindle an old flame, or will she choose to stay by Tress’s side when she needs her most?
A beautifully written read. Definitely recommend. 5*.

What’s the one thing you could never forgive?

Shari Low has cemented herself firmly in my list of auto-buy authors! Time and time again she amazes me with her ability to share a moving journey through her genuine and layered characters. She takes the worst of human nature and mixes it with a situation we’d never want to experience and then presents us with a gripping story we can’t set down. In this case, an avalanche of emotions is set off by the repercussions of a single choice - a choice that was made in secret and intended to be kept a secret. Readers watch the unravelling of four lives on a collision course with destiny; a terrible accident caused by deception and a regrettable choice.

An emotional wringer of a book, this one will stay with you for quite some time. You’ll love Noah, wish you could have Tess Walker‘s heart and then suddenly you’ll ache for all those innocent people whose lives are forever affected by the careless choice of another.

What happened in Weirbridge one day, happens in countless other places all over the globe….perhaps daily. I only hope, if it ever happens to me or to someone I love, that I can remember to forgive and move on.

“Forgiveness wasn’t something you did for other people, it was something you did for yourself to let you move on.”

I love it when an author can incite self-investigation and cause me to re-evaluate my beliefs on a subject. Sometimes, a novel confirms my beliefs and other times, such as this one, I can see the value in a different way of responding.

I'd love to see this spectacular novel get optioned for TV or the silver screen.

I was generously gifted this copy by Boldwood Books and NetGalley and was under no obligation to provide a review.

This book was so good! I almost read it in one day!
It’s a heartbreaking story in some ways but also one of new beginnings. For the most part it unfolded about like I was expecting except for the ending. I will definitely be looking for more books by this author.
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the early copy

Mark your 🗓 for January 20, 2023 and make sure to snag a copy of this beautiful book on pub day! I was highly invested in each character from the very start, and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to see what happens. The writing draws you in and immediately makes you want more. This is a very thought provoking and emotional read, so you need to be ready to feel all the feels and have your tissues ready. Shari Low did a beautiful job of intertwining the characters and making them each a valuable part of the true lesson of this book: so much can happen in just one day to flip our worlds upside down and that good people are not always felt a fair hand in life. This book gives you hope in humanity and shows us that gratitude and forgiveness can add so much goodness to our lives and help us in the grieving process.

“ I think the fates are giving a different message today. I think that they’re saying that life is short and it can change in a heartbeat. I think they’re saying that you never know the minute your whole world can be blown to smithereens. And I think they’re saying that’s why you have to grab every chance of happiness that you can fine because you don’t know when or if the next one will come along.”

“ I loved him, and still love him now, because he’s my person. And if I lost him tomorrow, I’d be heartbroken, but every day I know that I’ve had the love in my life, and I’d be grateful for it, whether it lasted for a year, or ten, or fifty.”

It's a beautiful story through the ages. It's all about forgiving and moving on. It's not for the other person but for yourself. Nancy and Val's stories were much more interesting than Noah, Max, Tress and Anya's. Perhaps it's because they have lived their whole life, and there is more to tell. Noah, Max, Tress, and Anya's stories are so boring and predictable. Even their personalities are nothing out of the ordinary. However, the story is beautiful.

One day can change everything.

While this book chronicles one day in the lives of Max, Tress, Noah, Anya,Val, Don and Nancy, the day is really the result of many years of choices, good and bad for these 7 people. When all the pieces aligned, a tragedy results and brings the day to the forefront.

I don't write spoilers, and I try to not restate the book jacket, so this review will be a bit sparse. But, I loved the book. I don't give many 5 star ratings, but this is one. The author so skillfully sets up the backstory that you want to keep reading on to see how it unwinds. Keep the tissues handy because you'll need them for both the happy and sad parts!

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

I absolutely loved this heartbreaking and life affirming book. Beautifully written. The story is told from the perspective of Max, Tress, Noah and Val over the course of one day, the 9th February 2023, a day that will change their lives forever. I cannot recommend this book highly enough and, having never read any of Shari Low’s books before, I will be looking out for her other books. Would make a fantastic miniseries on tv. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The characters were so real, some more likable than others. The plot captivated me from the first page and flowed seamlessly from scene to scene. At some points in the story I didn't know who to root for!!!
This was a great read from cover to cover. Recommend to anyone who loves a book that will give you a good cry!
