Kitty is bubbly and wonderful with humans and cats alike. Miles isn't really a cat person, and he's dealing with his mother's declining health, so he can't care for her sphinx, Prince Francis, the way she'd like to. In comes Kitty. Miles finds out about her services and arranges to meet with her and the cat to see if they'll get along well. Their first encounter is a comedy of errors: she falls in the driveway and spills the contents of her purse, he tackles her when he thinks the squirt gun she has for training cats is an actual gun...it sets the tone for the entire story. Both Miles and Kitty have personal trauma in their past and are learning to navigate it in the present while they struggle with their love/hate relationship. It was a very cute book, but some of the love scenes were a bit cringy (to me!) and the language at times seemed really immature. I think there could be something great here, but it would have benefitted from another round of edits.
Many thanks to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for an advanced reader's copy in exchange for my honest review.

I’ve read some of Helena Hunting’s hockey books and enjoyed them, but something about this one wasn’t clicking for me. Her writing style felt different and really wasn’t for me this time. I ended up DNFing at 30%. This could be a book others really enjoy but I just couldn’t get into it or like the characters.

My Favorite Days Are The Ones Where I Wake Up With You Besides Me
4.5 stars!
This book is funny, sweet and had me saying aww and laughing hysterically. Miles and Kitty are hilarious.

Honestly, not my favorite Helena Hunting book. Her books are always must reads or immediate buys for me, but I honestly did not like this book. I couldn’t connect with the main characters and their chemistry didn’t sizzle.

Very kitschy and silly- but cute! Formulaic. If you like cats and Hallmark movies, this is a book for you!

This was very funny (I genuinely laughed out loud in places) and surprisingly moving, with just the right balance of comedy to steam to emotional weight and sweetness. Miles and Kitty are great together - I genuinely believed their relationship and I loved that there somewhat disasterous meet cute resolved so naturally. I also appreciated the representation of grief and loss, including divorce as well as death, and how that grief can disguise feeling stuck as feeling safe. Helena Hunting is a talented contemporary rom com writer, as this novel cemented for me, and a solid rom com choice every time.

This was a cute, short and sweet little palate cleanser
! Very cheesy tho 😅 I feel my taste has changed a bit since I requested it to be fair! You might like it!

It took me forever to read this- and boy did I regret it! I thought this book was a wonderful mix of silly ridiculousness and real life stressors. I loved seeing Kitty and Miles interact in a cute, romantic way, while also being able to process real trauma and support each other through life's difficulties. A unique mix of sappy love story meets heavy life events, 4 stars!

I have always loved Helene Hunting and read basically everything she has released. This book is amazing and everything I’ve been wanting to read.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an eARC in exchange for an honest review!
I've enjoyed Helena Hunting's books in the past and know to expect light, cheesy romances. However, this book about a professional cat trainer was just a bit too cringy/cheesy for me. How many cat puns does one book need? Reader, I am a cat person, but this was a bit much.

A Love Catastrophe was the perfect book to read after finishing several dark reads that left me a bit depleted and needing something fresh and upbeat.
I’m a huge cat lover but my husband hates them so I end up reading books like this so that I can experience the joys of having a cat occasionally. Both Miles and Kitty quickly endeared themselves to me with their nerdy and quirky personalities. Both characters have dealt with family tragedy which really tugged at my heartstrings. They really were perfect together, and I very much enjoyed their story. It really made me smile and I finished the book with all the warm and fuzzies.
This story was exactly what I needed to read right now, and I finished it very quickly because I just couldn’t put it down. I hope there’s more to come from this world, Kitty’s sister especially. Thank you for writing this fun story, Helena!

***5 Stars***
The awkwardness was all kinds of catnip (ha!) for me in this baby. Kitty and Miles definitely kept me on my toes and add Prince Francis and Willfred and their antics and well…this book made my heart all kinds of happy, even in the more heartbreaking moments.
I loved Kitty and Miles. Their love of animals ~ Kitty animals in general and Miles his dog ~ was something I could fully understand and connect with. They are both awkward, but neither are doormats and both have bruises on their hearts that they haven’t fully worked through. I enjoyed watching as their relationship went from adversarial to friends to more and how they found that they actually had more in common than they thought. I liked how they helped each other work through the weight that they both carried and found a love that neither expected.
This was a fun read. There are heavy moments, but are handled well and give depth and understanding to the characters and their situations. I loved Prince Francis and Willfred and I would love it if Hattie, Kat, Parker, Austin and Josh got their own HEA’s in the future.

Kitty Hart is known as The Kitty Whisperer and offers cat sitting services. She's a celebrity on social media. Miles Thorn works for an NHL team as a data analyst. He needs someone to take care of his mother's cat while he's away. He's a dog lover and can do without cats. You never know how two people can make a connection. It's isn't long before Kitty and Miles are kissing and more. Snappy dialogue and hilarious situations all for the love of animals.
Mild descriptive sex.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book from NetGalley.

This was so well written. I was engrossed from the first page and it ticked all the boxes of my expectations . I would definitely recommend to others.

This was a cute story, featuring sweet and sassy animals and lots of great puns. It was fun to follow the journey of helping Miles see the good in Prince Francis, and see Kitty teach others how a little extra TLC can go a long way. As a resident dog lover myself, it was nice reading about cats that I wouldn't mind hanging around. It is also another great example of how we live in a world where a highly edited clip from a video can be released and completely ruin someone's life, no matter what the truth actually is. In the end though, it was a perfect rom-com. I really enjoyed it, start to finish.

This one definitely had its cute moments, but overall it just wasn't for me. I really love Helena Hunting's books, but her indie books definitely read different than her traditionally published books, so I had to go in with that mindset. Even that didn't save it. I love cats, but this was a little over the top. I just couldn't get into the story.

I was not expecting to love this book like I did. I’m not a cat person, I’m actually allergic, but this book left me wanting to adopt a cat! Miles is just the sweetest and Kitty has such a kind heart. They were a little too perfect together for my liking, but the character growth for both of them was really well done.

If you need a straight forward cute rom-com that is sweet and a little spicy, I would 100% recommend this book. I love all of the talk of cats and dogs, all of the puns around Kitty and her business. and the emotional maturity of the main characters. This is a hot cocoa book for me (when you read it you feel warm like you're drinking hot cocoa).

The book was good until it wasn't. It is so hard for me to move on from a book when the "spice" scenes are SO CRINGY. WHY HELENA??? I loved your other books!!!

2.5 stars. It was just too ridiculous for me to even enjoy at some parts. Her name is Kitty and she’s a cat sitter with a business called the Kitty Whisperer, and her best friend Cat owns a cat cafe. The chemistry with Miles felt a bit forced. I typically love a cheesy romcom but this one was just too much.
