Love Kitty and Miles together. Fun chemistry, terrific banter and great characters. Their meet-cute is especially fun. Really enjoyed it.

The cat in this book is named Prince Francis so I was destined to enjoy it. This was just a cute story. Kitty had such a fun job, acting as a cat whisperer. Someone who was very much more comfortable around pets than humans she starts off on the wrong foot when Miles needs someone to help take care of his mom's cat.

Both Miles and Kitty were two people affected by loss, guilt and just the various ways it shapes your life, your family and your choices. They were able to show each other such empathy that they hadn't given themselves previously. Both were just awkward and stumbling in their attraction for each other and it was just funny to watch these two bumbling through getting together. This book will make you want to just curl up with your cat as you read it.

A Love Catastrophe was a very cute and quick romance read. I think it will likely appeal more towards a smaller, specific audience (ahem- cat lovers, obviously), but it was definitely an overall a fun read. Even though it dealt with some heavier topics, I would still consider it light. I do appreciate the third act drama being external from the couple, because lord knows I hate a third act break up! This certainly was not my usual type of book, but I still enjoyed my time spent readying it.

A Love Catastrophe by Helena Hunting is a charming novel that is more than a romance. In addition to watching the two main characters fall into love after initially disliking each other, we see characters cope with grief, guilt, and misunderstanding.

Miles Thorne, an NHL data analyst, is grappling with his mother’s diagnosis of early-onset dementia. He has pressure to perform well in his new job, but is also trying to take care of his mother’s cat and find an assisted living home for his mother. This is why he engages the services of the Kitty Whisperer.

Kitty and Miles find that despite their awkward first few meetings, they share many similarities and both suffer from guilt and grief within their families. Although this might sound heavy, there is lots of humor. Characters, dialogue, and situations are realistic, and it is rewarding to see the personal growth among many of the characters.

If you are a cat person, you will really love this novel. I, actually, am not, but still found the book fun. It was a most enjoyable read.

When his mother is hospitalized, Miles Thorn needs to hire someone to help look after her mischievous cat. Kitty Hart, “Kitty Whisper”, is not at all what Miles expected. In spite of their awkward first meeting, the pair form a friendship and realize they have much more in common than they originally thought.

A Love Catastrophe is an open door romcom with just the right amount of humor to balance out the spice. While Miles does work for a hockey team I would not consider this a sports romance. This is no slowburn! Kitty and Miles have chemistry from the very beginning and it only grows throughout the book.

I appreciate the thoughtful way the author shows the many sides of grief. Mrs. Thorn’s condition is also shown in a realistic light.

While this is currently a standalone, there are numerous side characters worthy of their own stories. The epilogue seems to hint at more to come. Whether it’s more of these familiar faces or not, I look forward to reading whatever Helena Hunting writes next.

This book was a cute story about how Kitty and Miles connect over a cat and their shared family struggles. The tone of the book was sadder than I expected, but I appreciated the thought that the author put into grief and the challenges that come with change.

I was a bit shocked that there were still Harry Potter references. Most new releases exclude those.
