OMG, this book was so amazing! I gobbled it up in one sitting! Please, Helena Hunting, give us more just like this one!

Sadly, I don’t really like cats… which is a bummer because this book is about a “kitty whisperer”. I was just not set up to like this one and I think there was simply too much going on for me. Miles was charming, but I didn’t connect with him either.

This was a cute fun contemporary romance that I really enjoyed reading. Also it was a super quick read so if you want something to read that you know you can get through quick this one is a good choice and also if you like CATS!!, Friends to lovers, opposite attracts types of books then this one is definitely a must read.

Though this romance was solid, I felt like I wanted more. The tension broke too early on as well, and the plot took precedence over the romance. This isn’t the worst thing ever, but I was hoping to see more of their relationship develop so that their ending felt justified. A solid romance, with lots of room to grow into a great romance.

it was just very cringey and awkward to the point where i was uncomfortable. their sexy moments felt very forced and awkward is the main word i have to describe them. the cat puns were excessive. i get that it was about a cat-training/watching business owner but omfg. she literally says “oh my catness."
the plot was just very emotional yet didn’t really grip me. felt like there was too much happening while also forcing a romance. and the author gave more details than necessary for mundane activities in the storyline.

I did not finish this one, it was not for me, I couldn't relate to the characters, and just did not care for the story.

This was the perfect book at the perfect time.

Okay, the book itself isn’t without fault, but this goofy romp was a palate cleanser after reading a few excellent, but very dark, reads.

I enjoyed the quirky characters, the heart-felt family dynamics, and her super-niche business.

Grumpy Sunshine, you’ll always be my favourite.

And the cat puns – THE CAT PUNS! – were over-the-top purrrrr-fection.

No one is going to accuse this book of being anything more or less than a good time.

This was such a fun and cute read. Great banter and chemistry. I also loved that there wasn’t a contrived third act misunderstanding/break up.

I recently had the pleasure of delving into Helena Hunting's first rom-com, "A Love Catastrophe," and let me tell you, it was an absolute delight! Helena has taken her writing prowess to a whole new level with this charming and hilarious romantic comedy.

From the very first page, I was hooked. The humor in this book is nothing short of wonderful. Helena has an incredible knack for weaving witty banter and laugh-out-loud moments into her storytelling. It's the kind of book that had me giggling uncontrollably in the most unexpected places, earning me a few strange looks from bystanders.

The chemistry between Kitty and Miles, our lovable protagonists, is electric. From their first encounter, you can practically feel the sparks flying off the page. Helena does an incredible job of building their relationship, making it feel both genuine and swoon-worthy. Their interactions are filled with humor, heart, and a healthy dose of steaminess that will leave you fanning yourself.

One of the best things about "A Love Catastrophe" is that there's no annoying third breakup act. You won't find the usual clichés and misunderstandings that often plague romantic comedies. Instead, Helena keeps the story refreshingly realistic and focused on the evolving connection between Kitty and Miles. It's a breath of fresh air in the genre and a testament to Helena's skill in crafting a satisfying and heartwarming love story.

Another great rom com by Helena Hunting! A Love Catastrophe follows cat sitter Kitty Hart and Miles Thorn, hockey nerd extraordinaire. Miles’ mother has to spend some time in the hospital and hires Kitty to take care of his mom’s very ornery cat. A super quirky rom com that you won’t be able to put down!

Full of meaning and cuteness, Helena Hunting wrote a different story from what I’m used to reading by her. This one doesn’t have all that sexy sassiness, it has a lot of sweetness and cat love.

Kitty loves cats, Miles loves dogs. He has to deal with his mother’s cat while she’s in the hospital and Kitty works as a cat whisperer. Therefore, a match in heaven is made because they had a lot more bringing them together than separating them. That is, once they get over the fact that he tackled her when he saw her pointing a gun at his mother’s cat! Never mind it was baby blue and a water pistol, the tackle happened and it proved the point that they were both a little weird (and clumsy!)

Apart from their chemistry, both come from broken homes, his from divorce, her from her dad’s passing. Both family homes were frozen in time, living a present that was based on the past. And as their relation evolves, so did their mothers’ acceptance of their past, and they managed to cement changes for their future.

The pace is slower than her other books, the characters are a little quirky and awkward but sweet with a huge heart. And around all this family love, we get to meet this spoiled and grumpy cat Prince Francis, who really dominated the scene and gave color to the whole story. There was also Wilfred, a Great Dane, but even he fell victim to Prince Francis’ strong personality.

Full of charm and funny moments, lovely conversations between the humans and between the humans with their pets, thus was such a delightful and heart warming story. Entertaining, mind opening, quietly funny and totally charming.

I read this book in one day. The characters are wonderful and inspiring. Miles and Kitty's chemistry is palpable through out the pages.

I did not expect the storyline to go the way it did. I thought it was all fun and games and cats... but it's also a heartwarming tale about resilience and loss.

I love Hunting’s writing so much, she’s full of adorable quirky characters and issues that are fully real life. I love that there was no miscommunication issue in this and that these two were solidly backing each other.

Well, l didn't think it was possible, but I think there might've been too much cat obsession in Kitty...I get it, you like cats. You don't need to become one. As for the romance, I am usually a huge sucker for a good enemies-to-lovers, however I was not a fan of our characters’ chemistry level sadly. Kitty just felt a bit too immature for Miles and in general. I really wanted to like this one, the concept was cute and we love a crazy side feline character. I just couldn't get into the two actually getting together, and please don't ask me about the physical scene because cringe...Anyways, since that’s kind of the main concept of a rom-com, it didn’t work for me.

I love Helena Hunting, but sadly this book just didn’t stand out for me. I didn’t really feel the attraction between the two MCs. Oh and justice for Wilfred, the poor dog hardly had anyone taking care of him.

I wanted to like this book because I love cats, but as soon as I read that she uses a water gun on cats, I couldn't continue.
That's actually one of the worst ways to train a cat (or dog). Just, no.

Per usual another Helena Hunting book that I thoroughly enjoyed!
What's even better about this one is the cats!!!

This book is a cutesy little rom com about Miles, who is learning to cope with his mother's dementia and needing to find someone to help him with his mom's cat, Prince Francis. Enter Kitty the self proclaimed cat whisperer, who has a business tending to cats. It's awkward, it's funny, and it's a little silly at times.
Overall I enjoyed the audiobook and would totally recommend to other cat lovers who love quirky rom-coms.

A Love Catastrophe is a really fun, fast read by Helena Hunting that had me rooting for the main characters, Kitty and Miles. Kitty is an internet famous "cat whisper" who runs into Miles, a cat hater who is in charge of his mother's cat for a while. The sparks fly and this whitty book takes off! I am not a cat lover myself but I did enjoy this book so I can only image if someone was a cat lover, how much fun this book would be to read!

I have read nearly everything Hunting wrote... this one, like her others with Forever pub, was a cute romance with light steam... your girl lives for her independently published door-wide-open scenes, but I enjoyed this one tremendously... even though I'm a total dog-lover and not a fan of cats :)

Kitty is Hart is known on social media as the cat whisper. She has a professional cat sitting business and a large social media following.
When Miles Thorn is in need of Kitty’s cat sitting services while his mom is in the hospital, they arrange a meeting.

I blindly requested this one on netgalley and the fact that I didn’t realize the title Love CATastrophe was a play on words made me giggle. I was definitely the target audience for this book as most of you know I am obsessed with cats #catladyforlife!

This story was super cute and had a couple open door mild spicy scenes. I enjoyed that the main conflict in this book was not between the main characters because that could make a break a book!

Overall if you are a cat lover and love reading about cute animals / want a nice love story, this one is for you!

You definitely have to be a cat person to read this one, and I enjoyed it for that reason. This book also deals with trauma and loss and how the characters grow over time. I really enjoyed that aspect of the book.

This was my first book from the author so I am not sure if her other books are quite like this, but I’ll be reading them for sure!
