I found this to be a rousing story with an improbable story line. If you can accept the premise of a son seeking answers about his secret FBI father (now dead), lots of Cartel cash, all taking place in South America, then you may enjoy this book.

THE RIO AFFAIR is an edge of your seat thrill ride straight into the dark, exotic heart of Brazil. What a sensational book this is, with a plot that unrolls like clockwork, and simmering tension that never lets up. Betrayal, double-crossing and the most delicious sting in the tail... I couldn't put it down.

Can’t wait for the.next book! This was a very exciting, attention keeping , action packed read set in Brazil, with historical links to nazis that had fled Germany after WW2. Well written and hard to put down.

Interesting start to a new series. More backstory on Miles would have made for a more developed character. Future books focusing on the brother/sister relationship could make for exciting situations contrasting Brazil and the U.S. I received an ARC from NetGalley and the opinions expressed are my own.

An fast paced action thriller. Good descriptions of people and places and totally unbelievable. I found the fetishism an uncomfortable read and it spoiled the story for me.

This book is suffering because the author is changing the POV between himself and the main character, even within chapters. Stupid, messy and often leads to repetitions.
Otherwise, the characters are good, and the plot is OK except for some minor nonsense.

Thanks to Netgalley and Books Go Social for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Miles Ronan is an FBI agent whose father disappeared years ago. When he finds out that his father has been murdered in Brazil, he travels there to investigate and finds out he has a half sister, who is missing. With the help of Marie, a journalist, he works to find his sister and uncovers all kinds of nefarious deeds.

I requested this novel on a whim because I have always been intrigued by Rio. It was definitely an action packed read. The author did a really good job of making me feel like I was in the various locations, as Miles traveled around to different areas of Brazil. I loved that part. I did struggle a bit with the many characters that were introduced and keeping them all straight. Overall, an entertaining read and I would read more of the adventures of Miles.

Action packed thriller set in Rio. FBI agent Miles goes to Rio to investigate his estranged fugitive father's murder, and discovers he has a younger sister, Leticia, who has been kidnapped by the killer.
With the help of his BOPE officer friend and journalist Marie, Miles unravels a complicated plot including Nazis, Mossad, corruption and terrorism in the hunt for Leticia.
Really exciting. Recommended
