A brilliant read and one I really enjoyed. The characters are loveable and varied, the plot is one that is engaging and medium paced. I found myself completely drawn into the story and enjoyed the writing style.

The Little Venice Bookshop is the story of a woman who journeys to Venice to discover the secrets of her late mother. I enjoyed reading this book.

Luna is a nomad having travelled the world most of her life. As an only child, Luna and her mother would travel the world and live in female-based communes. When her mother passes away, Luna knows this long before the call she receives to alert her of this tragedy.

After returning to her mother’s latest home and community, Luna discovers a collection of letters written to a man in Venice full of mystery. When wanderlust strikes again, Luna is off to Venice with her best friend Gigi to try and solve the mystery behind the letters and perhaps find the father she has never known.

Her quest finds her at a Venice bookshop where she meets Giancarlo, the man named in the letters and the one who could be her father. She wants to establish a relationship with this man before asking the question. She is hired along with Oscar, an aspiring writer, to take care of the winter clean-up, and organize the bookstore.

Without giving anything away, the story is one of loss, friendship and family. While I was hoping for more of an immersed Venice setting, the story is moving and one that I enjoyed. I loved the quirky characters and the bookstore’s multiple resident cats (complete with literary names).

I recommend this book to those readers looking for a light women’s fiction or romance read.

I absolutely loved this book! I found myself engrossed in story, after losing her mother Luna embarks on a journey to discover who her father was. Who wouldn’t want an escape to Venice for few months, but what we wish for is not always what we find, but sometimes we find something even better.

I found the story to be more about finding your way in the world, family, friendship and yes love. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves books and wants a feel good read.

Luna finds some letters not long after her Mom passes away. They’re love letters to her Mom from a guy who lives in Venice. She finds out he owns a bookshop and decides to head to Venice.
Who doesn’t love a book that takes place in a bookstore.
It has a nice romance happening and Luna looking for her Dad. It’s a lovely story.

An ideal read if you're looking for something light hearted and to escape from reality for a while.

I really loved this book set in Venice and a bookshop, with really likeable characters, what's not to like?!

Luna never stays in one country very long and is always wandering the globe, something she inherited from her Mum. They both roamed the world together, until Luna's Mum decided she was getting older and it was time for her to stay put in one place, but Luna continued travelling, a lot of the time with her best friend Gigi.

Then comes the devastating news that Luna's mother has died, and when she goes back to sort out her belongings she finds hidden letters about a long ago love affair with someone who she finds out lives in Venice and owns a bookstore. Of course she has to investigate this love story, why didn't her mother tell her? Could this man be her father?

So Luna and Gigi fly off to Venice to investigate and once there fall in love with Venice and it's inhabitants, slowly unravelling the mystery of her mother's long lost love, with plenty of surprises along the way.

This was just a really lovely feeling book with a perfect ending.

My first read by this author and it won’t be my last.
A real feel good read with great characters, a wonderful setting and a plot full of adventure, suspense, romance and mystery. I loved it from start to finish.

This was mostly enjoyable. Luna ditches her friend to go on a family history journey that is plagued with lies and other problems. I felt the end was too neatly wrapped up with a lack of answers for both Luna and the other main characters. Something was off about most of the writing, the dialogue was not natural in many places.

A great, joyful read that will warm your heart - especially if you're in need of escapism! Although it's not a 5-star read for me, I do appreciate lighthearted books like these because honestly, we all need to do some slow-living sometimes. For me, it was vicariously through 'The Little Venice Bookshop'!

The little Venice Bookshop is a lovely feel good read. You will be hooked from the start with loveable characters and a wonderful storyline set in a beautiful and romantic place. Perfect for a rainy day read.

‘The Little Venice Bookshop’ by Rebecca Raisin was a beautiful story that stuck the perfect balance of gorgeous, transportive prose with romance, mystery, adventure, and suspense. It was a bit of a slow start for me, but that quickly changed as the story progressed, and I’m so glad I stuck with it, even with the slightly abrupt ending. This one struck all the feels, and I really enjoyed it. Definitely recommend!

This is a title I was looking forward to reading as I had read books by Rebecca before and read this synopsis and thought this was a book to enjoy.
However, for some reason I found little connection to the characters and their fates. I did love the setting, Venice, and the bookshop along the canal. The cats were a delight with their mischievous traits and stealthy shenanigans.
An enjoyable tale but for me not her best.

This is another sweet book from Rebecca Raisin.
When Luna's mum dies, she discovers a bundle of old love letters which may give a clue as to who her father is.
The letters send Luna off to Venice, specifically to a little rundown bookshop, run by Giancarlo, the man her mum received the letters from.
Luna sets out to save the bookshop and discover her heritage.
A lovely read, perfect for the beach.

So I requested this book just from the title alone. I love a good armchair visit to Italy and this book hit the nail right on the head. This is my first book from Rebecca Raisin though I have heard of her before. This book is more of a women’s fiction book with the benefit of a romance but the romance is not what this book is about.

Luna is wondering flower child, having grown up all over the world with her mother Ruby and all of their found family. When Rudy dies and leaves a mystery for Luna to solve she and her BFF Gigi take off to Venice Italy to find this bookshop from Ruby’s past. And maybe Lunas future.

Ruby’s death and Luna’s grief had me in tears very early on in they book. And I don’t think I’ve cried so often with a book. Luna is a pretty strong, independent character, she and Gigi seemed almost fearless to me. Taking off to Italy with barely a plan and very little money. But it’s what pulls you in and makes yo keep reading. Raisin depictions of Venice are lovely, painting pictures my head from a city I’ve been to and loved all while moving the story along.

As stated the romance is a side plot to this book. Luna and her bookshop rival Oscar and very different but also very compatible and their chemistry is easy to see. There is a HEA but no more then Kissing in the Spice department. Which was fine for me. I knew going in that that’s not what this book was and it makes all the difference.

This is a lovely heart warming cozy mystery wrapped up in an unforgettable trip to Venice with some wonderful characters and lots of feels!

This is such a cute book! I found it a bit slow moving but still enjoyed the characters and the plot.

Firstly, a big thank you to Net Galley and HQ stories for the ARC and the opportunity to read this beautiful story.

I love when a book starts with a prologue so there were bonus points straight away! This book really warmed my heart – my heart ached for Luna when she lost her mum, but her journey to Venice to follow a trail left by her mother (in the form of such sweet love letters), really made my heart swell.

Gigi and Luna’s friendship is so sweet – they really are platonic soulmates and I’m glad Gigi found happiness and love in the end.

Oh my… the setting descriptions in this are perfection. You can picture everything so vividly and can get yourself absorbed by the beauty of Venice without even being there.

I love that we get to see Luna and Oscar bringing the bookshop back to life; an aspect book lovers will always appreciate. And I love that these two gradually get closer and build a strong bond.

Ultimately, I really love this story – do I wish that it was a bit longer? Yes. Do I wish that it didn’t feel so rushed at the end? Yes. But was it still a really lovely, heartwarming story? Yes, absolutely.

The Little Venice Bookshop is the second book I’ve attempted to read by Rebecca Raisin and I am just not a fan. I hear great things about her books but I can’t get a few chapters in without giving up. Not for me.

I absolutely love Rebecca Raisin’s books and this one certainly didn’t disappoint. I read this in a day as I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen! Luna is dealing with the death of her mother and after finding some letters from a man named Giancarlo, along with her friend Gigi, goes to Venice to try and find him. What is the connection between this man and her mum? This is set in beautiful Venice which is vividly described. This is set in a bookshop and has a great bunch of characters. I love that the direction and outcome of the story wasn’t obvious and found that it flowed well. All in all a delightful read that leaves you feeling warm inside.
