I LOVED this book, the humour was spot on and the twisty plot kept me guessing. It is an original and thought provoking read that keeps you reading way too late into the night... thank you for the bags under my eyes!

Absolutely loved this! It’s a really decent serial killer mystery but has its own unique tongue in cheek, quirky style which had me chortling throughout. I particularly loved that the main character was cracking jokes and being supremely sarcastic and ironic when she eventually came face to face with the killer. Top class!
The theme also felt very contemporary and thought provoking as it centred around the perils and pitfalls of online dating. Having, thankfully, met my husband before the advent of such things (yes, I’m in my mid forties so positively ancient) I could watch on smugly in this instance that I don’t have to tackle such things. The experience of awful first dates, however, is definitely something I can relate to, however, I’m sure most people can so I enjoyed reading our hero’s date related anecdotes muchly.
The plot had some pleasing twists and turns and I wasn’t disappointed to guess who the killer was as it wasn’t overly obvious. I will definitely look out for more books by this author.

This was so so good. Started and finished in one sitting as I couldn't put it down!!

Not only was this book fast - paced and really engaging it was super funny with all the dark humour and wit. The premise is highly unique and in this day and age when most people are swiping right it's super intriguing.

I loved the main character I thought she was funny and actually most of her actions were actually relatable. The characterization on a whole was superb and even some of the secondary characters got to steal the limelight a little.

I actually think I'd really like to see Gwen and Dandy again.. I'm fairly certain Gwen could get herself into another funny fiasco with Detective Lyons in tow.

An Absolute fantastic debut novel full of twists and turns and will leave you guessing until the very end.

Meet Gwen Turner. Things are not going so well for Gwen right now. With her best friend and roommate Sarah about to abandon her for newly-married life, and the mysterious end to a long term relationship, Gwen has put all her eggs (metaphorically speaking) into Connector, the hot new dating app which promises all kinds of romantic excitement.

Unfortunately, despite whatever it's promising, Connector hasn't really delivered. At least, not to date (pun not intended). Although Gwen has grown thoroughly addicted to the endorphin boost she gets whenever she turns to the app, so far all she has actually got out of it is a series of lemons - dates with men who are liars, married, racist or otherwise ineligible.

Just when she thought it couldn't get any worse, Gwen discovers there's a serial killer on the loose. On top of that, he is targeting all the no-hoper men she's been dating - and framing her for the murders!

As the police narrow in on her as a suspect, Gwen realises that the only way she can get out of the mess she finds herself in is by identifying the killer herself. In the midst of all this, she has one ally: police officer Aubrey "Dandy" Lyons, the brother of a school friend.

What this story has going for it is that for a serial killer-based thriller, it is very, very funny. Gwen is a likable protagonist - if, at times, prone to making reckless decisions that frequently complicate her life further.

Officer "Dandy" provides a potential love interest. And the supporting cast of murdered men are, if not likable, then at least quite entertaining. Ditto Gwen's ice cream van employee, Charlie.

The story does stretch the reader's credibility somwhat, but the basic premise makes that quite clear at the outset. This is an enjoyable, often highly amusing romp of a murder mystery that consistently delivers on the suspense. So suspend disbelief and settle in to enjoy it!

This intrigued me as a storyline as I met my now husband on tinder! It was a fun, mysterious read that sadly lost a bit of pace for me but it was a god easy read in the end!

I really enjoyed this!

Gwen has been on a series of disastrous dates via a dating app after a breakup from her long term boyfriend. When these dates start to be murdered off one by one, Gwen is under suspicion.

There are lots of red herrings and you will be guessing the murderer and their motives right up until the end.

Gwen is a flawed, chaotic but loveable heroine and there are some likeable characters in this story too.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for giving me a copy of this book in exchange for my review

When every man you have been on a recent date with turns up dead, your bound to be worried. This fast paced thriller was a great read, it held held my attention and had me at the edge of my seat, I would say this isn’t too jumpy but this does feature lots of twists to the story and I did get chills a few times too.

I normally end up guessing who the murder is pretty early on however with this book I didn’t guess till really late in the story

An entertaining read that merges comedy with a serial killer running around, I did not expect this combination to work as well as it did. The characters were all very believable as were the fairly terrible dates with laugh out loud moments. Gwen, I think, was someone you probably love to hate whilst managing to get herself in some right situations concerning both the serial dating side and the serial killer.

There was a quite a bit of misdirection and red herrings, I did suspect the true culprit and overall, it was a very well worked plot.

An enjoyable 4 star read and a great debut novel.

Many thanks to NetGalley, Aria and Aries and Head of Zeus for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Don't Swipe Right follows Gwen and her journey to find a date for her best friends wedding following a break up with her ex-boyfriend through Connector; a dating app. Things take a turn when Gwen gets sent a link to a news story telling her one of her dates has been found dead,

The story of Don't Swipe Right is an interesting one and although I was hooked in some parts, I did find there was parts that lacked the intrigue. There were a lot of twist and turns within the plot and as much as.I love a twist there is a limit I think to how many needs to be involved. I have to admit the last twist that came towards the end I was not expecting - I definitely thought it was someone else when we got to that stage and i did find I was questioning everyone's motive towards the end. I did like how unpredictable this book was because sometimes you can workout what is going on and it leaves y0u feeling a little deflated. This one did not, although I didn't feel that it was fully tied up at the end...

The book was really well written and I loved the extracts that jumped back to the dates Gwen went on which helped unravel the case. It felt chaotic but i think that was a really good reflection on how Gwen was a person and showed her personality in this book.

Although I didn't love this book, I would still recommend that you read this for a read that will have you guessing right up to the end.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect from this book, but when I read the synopsis I was intrigued.
Gwen has broken up with the love of her life, her best friend Sarah is getting married, the guys Gwen has dated from an app have started dying......
It was a really enjoyable read, few funny bits, few red herrings.
I would recommend this book.
Thank you netgally for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Watch out for the ‘book joke’ it’s kinda badly good and it did get me thinking….
Anyway thats by the by,the book itself is a rare humorous yet dark Serial killer Whodunit based around a dating app and the users on it and how our main character,Gwen, seems to be causing the deaths of anyone she meets via it
It had me chuckling throughout and is at times tongue in cheek yet others a serious look at how these apps work and how people can manipulate them for devious means
Gwen is great, a bit over feisty sometimes but loved her and her musings and her way of talking to the reader, the rest of the cast are if not wholly loveable have a bit of likeable in them, hidden at times but there
An unusual read but a good one that fully enjoyed

I really enjoyed the single perspective storytelling and thought the font change between past and present was very effective. Quite a few twists and turns within and very entertaining throughout. I would recommend this book.

A very enjoyable read. It is a slightly humorous murder mystery with lots of twists and red herrings. I thought I had guessed the murderer early on but was proved wrong in the last few pages. Being of the generation that did there dating before dating apps had been invented - even mobile phones - I still found an enjoyable easy holiday read. I read it in two evenings.
I look forward to more from Chilton.

A great read.
Gwen`s relationship ended and she was obsessed with her dating app while waiting for her best friends wedding.
Then suddenly after having a few first dates they turn up murdered.
Made me laugh in places with all her bad dates she went on, brought back memories.
Plenty of twists which kept me changing my mind of who did it and an unexpected ending I didn`t see coming.
Definitely recommend.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC

Really enjoyable beach lounger read. Anyone who’s ever used tinder or the likes will be able to laugh along at the horror of online dating.

A very modern story concerning online dating. Gwen has been getting over the break up with her fiance Noah, with whom she planned to tour Europe with a converted coffee / ice cream van (more his dream than hers). Her life consists of working with Charlie in the van, selling coffee, and moaning to her soon-to-be married best friend and flatmate. Then Gwen finds internet dating and joins a site, but the men she meets tend to have some serious (and hilarious) issues. Then one of her dates is found dead, and she starts to get odd texts from a would-be match. Gwen sets out to find out who is targetting her matches, ideally before they all are killed off.

Its an exciting and unusual read, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Gwen is likeable, and while some of the scenes are a little farcical, the reader is willing her to find out who is responsible, before they turn to eliminating her.

Thank you to NetGalley, Aria & Aries and Head of Zeus for allowing me access to the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

LM Chilton's debut crime thriller is a darkly comic and satirical exploration of the pitfalls of the contemporary world of online dating which shockingly result in murder. 29 year old Gwen Turner's life is on a downward spiral, she is a part time barista of a failing Eastbourne mobile cafe on the beach, with only one regular customer there only for the wi-fi. This is not her dream and not what she had planned for, but the break up of her long term relationship with Noah Cutler is responsible. Her best friend and housemate Sarah is moving out, she is getting married to Richard on Valentine's Day, which Gwen feels is a mistake, but it is piling on the pressure for her to find a new relationship.

This has Gwen going on Connector, a dating app, which has so far proved to be an unmitigated disaster, every man has been a one date nightmare, but life is about tip into a surreal and bonkers horror show. At Sarah's OTT hen party, Gwen is in a manic state, addictively swiping on the app hoping to secure her next date, only to be sent details of a murder, the murder victim all too familiar, Rob Hamilton, a man she had dated and blocked recently. Surely this is nothing but a coincidence? Not a bit of it, the following morning a hung over Gwen receives a visit from 2 police officers, DCI Forrester and DC Aubrey 'Dandy' Lyon, whom she knew from school. Before she knows it, she has become the main suspect in an inquiry where it becomes apparent someone is killing the men she has dated.

Whilst Gwen she may not have thought much of her dates, she doesn't think they deserve to die as she ill advisedly tries to find and warn them of the dangers. This is a entertaining and surprisingly fun read, with a well plotted, suspenseful, and twisty narrative that made me laugh as I tried to work out who the serial killer might be. With a great cast of characters, this is one that I think will appeal to a wide range of readers, particularly those looking for something a little different within the crime genre! Many thanks to the publisher for an ARC.

When I saw this murder mystery crossover with an online dating application I just had to read it. Gwen is faced with a distressing dilemma when her dates are being murdered after their meetings. As she attempts to solve the mystery of the killings, it even leads her to being a prime suspect...
Okay so personally, I wasn't a massive fan of Gwen but I think she isn't supposed to be overly likeable in the first place? I hope I've got that suspicion right. There was a great set of characters in this book, none of whom I could fully trust, and I liked the plot layout of each new date brings a new clue to the puzzle.
There is also some great humour in this book, it was such an enjoyable read despite the genre being a murder mystery. There are a lot of twists and turns that keep you guessing page after page, and with a quick pace I devoured this book within a day, I just couldn't put it down. The final twist at the end was jaw-dropping and such a good finale to the book.
As Chilton's debut novel, this was very impressive and I would be interested in picking up his future releases.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5

Thank you to NetGalley, Aria & Aries and L.M. Chilton for the opportunity to read this advanced reader copy.

This has been an addictive read that I have devoured in just one sitting. This is one that grabs you from the very beginning.

We start at the Hen do From Hell where poor Gwen can’t help but check out the dating apps. After some bad dates, Gwen discovers that bodies of men she’s had a date with turn up dead.

This is such a unique and brilliant premise. I have loved everything about this one and can safely say that this is a debut that has converted me as a fan of this author.

Gwen is a brilliant character, I have loved her from early on. It’s been evident Sarah, her bestie is frustrated by her online dating and the men she chooses.

This is perfectly paced and unpredictable. My jaw has dropped as events have unfolded. This is a gem from beginning to end. I found this completely unputdownable.

This is a superb debut from an author to watch out for. I highly recommend getting this on the preorder list.

This book started with a bang, but for me, it really didn't keep up the momentum. The more the book went on, the less interested I became.
I was really hoping that this would be like a new 'Sweetpea' but I was left disappointed! really far fetched - but not in a light-hearted comedic way like 'Sweetpea.'

Was left feeling a bit 'blah' - expected and wanted so much more from this.
