Last Rites by Sharon Sala. A return to Pope Mountain with multiple storylines skillfully woven together. Get to catch up with Cameron, Rusty and Ghost (who once again becomes a rescue hero). Meet a new branch of the Pope family with Shirley and her sons along with some other families on Pope Mountain. The story includes a vicous stalker, the history and a mystery of the beginnings of Pope Mountain, detective work by the police of a shoot and run victim on the hiking trail. Love blossoms between Aaron Pope and Dani. The love of family and heritage shines throughout. Wonderful addition to the series.

Thank you to Sharon Sala, Sourcebooks Casablanca and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview the book.

Last Rites is a well plotted complicated romantic mystery on several fronts. Lawman, Aaron Pope is searching for a gunman who was seen by Dani Owens, a witness hiding from the twin of her stalker who vowed revenge after his brother was sent to prison. Throw into this mix an old diary written by one of the town’s founders and readers are in for an interesting, poignant, and exciting adventure. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley. Most highly recommend.

This book, written by one of my favorite authors, is a cannot put down novel. This author is talented and gifted. The characters are realistic and come alive on the pages. I liked this book. I really liked this book. Realistic fiction at its best. The story moves quickly. The lives of the characters would make a great television series. Curl up and get cozy. Get lost in this book. This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. Thanks to the publisher and the author.
