This book has been all over TikTok for a couple months now, and has been very much compared to an Elle Kennedy book. To me this book is better than the other book. Nate Hawkins has my heart. This is such a wholesome, supportive, understanding, book boyfriend, but everyone hopes and dreams for. I found myself going to hockey games, hoping to run into a boy that could be like Nate.

This book was fun and exciting to read! A lighthearted novel about an ice skater and hockey player, I loved every bit of it. The friends and entire ensemble of characters were so fun to read about. Can’t wait for Grace’s upcoming novels.

This was definitely not for me. Too many characters, too long, too juvenile and more cringey than sexy. And don’t get me started on that epilogue.

For a novel that takes place on ice, this is an incredibly steamy romance. I was completely taken by the drama between the ice skating team and the hockey team and their need to share the same skating rink at the college athletic center. A great read for romance novel fans that don't mind the addition of sport to the mix.

What. A. Book! I do not have enough goo things to say about it because then I'd just spoil it for you and take all the fun of reading it and let's just say, you want to read this book and it is so spicy! When diving into this book I didn't know what to expect and from the cover I thought it would be a rom-com and I was 100% wrong. This book is perfect for fans of LJ Shen or Colleen Hoover. I cannot wait to read what Hannah Grace comes out with next.
Anastasia Allen is a figure skater, in college just preparing for her future in the olypics and is not interested in a relationship. Along comes Nathan Hawkins, the captain of the hockey team. When the unexpected happens and both the figure skaters and the hocley team have to share the rink, both Anastasia and Nathan have to work together to make the arrangement work. When Anastasia's partner Aaron is injured, Nathan steps up to fill his spot until he can recover. Will working in close proximity change everything for them? Read Icebreaker by Hannah Grace to find out what happens with Anastasia and Nathan.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the free copy of Icebreaker by Hannah Grace in exchange for my honest review.

This book was everything I could have dreamed of and more. First of all, I was not expecting the spice, and was pleasantly surprised. Anastasia and Nate’s relationship was adorable, and very obviously not real, but it made my heart so happy and I wished for something like that. I would like to PERSONALLY thank Hannah Grace for avoiding the miscommunication trope in this book, which is my least favorite trope in the entire world. Also, Aaron is SUCH A DICK. he is a man that feels entitled to the entire world and I am SO GLAD he got what he deserved. This is probably in my top 5 romance novels ever, and I read a lot of romance. Please read this. Every single person needs this in their life

I really liked the plot and relationship development in Icebreaker! The friendships that develop between the hockey boys and Anastasia were fantastically written, and I love how much her world grows due to the forced sharing of rinks. I also really liked how Nate wasn't perfect but his character grew a lot in learning how to be better and recognize his mistakes. I would have liked a bit more of an explanation about the Aaron situation at the end and seen how Anastasia handled it, because it had such a huge impact on her career and life. Overall, I was really invested in the success of all the characters and flew through this book!

As a big fan of Romance and especially sports romance I was excited for this title, after seeing in on BookTok for so long. Having previously read The Deal series by Elle Kennedy I thought I had found my favorite Sports Romance series but oh boy was I wrong.

Stassi and Nate were such a fun couple to read about and I really enjoyed the wild ride we went on while reading about their growing relationship. The progression from enemies to reluctant friends to an item, felt a realistic approach to how I feel Stassi would have handled the situation. I was worried about the length of the book wondering if I would lose interest towards the end, but Hannah Grace put in such good drama, banter, and spice that I just couldn’t put this book down.

The book was nicely structured and the pacing of the writing kept the book moving nicely, but in my opinion the best part of the book was the strength of the side characters. They all brought something to the book without stealing focus from the story or creating side stories but letting Stassie and Nate be the star.

I can’t wait to read more from this author and hopefully more about our Maple Hills gentleman. Big thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for the free digital arc in exchange for my honest opinions.

Loved the dynamic and the relationships throughout the book. Each character evolved and grew together to fight through their challenges. Funny banter and secondary characters that'll keep you entertained!

Hannah Grace’s debut, ICREBREAKER, is everything readers are looking for in a New Adult romance! It’s steamy, hilarious, gritty, and so full of heart.

A positively brilliant, swoon-worthy tale of rival athletes thrown together by fate and circumstances, ICEBREAKER, manages to tackle serious topics like disordered eating and toxic relationships against a competitive college town for the backdrop.

10/10 highly recommended!

I liked this book, it took me a bit to get into it, I was confused by all the names in the beginning. Lots of spice and I liked the narrative about therapy and mental health, I thought it was done very well. I would recommend this book.

I enjoyed the first half of this book, but the second half really didn’t work for me. It made me dislike the same characters that the book had me rooting for for the first half. The therapists were cranks, any real problems had disappeared by the 50% point and the constant talk of pregnancy by a bunch of 21 year olds was really weird.

Cute remix of The Cutting Edge with characters every reader can relate to. It was a balance of fast paced and spicy, a fantastic winter weekend escape - plus what girl doesn't want a guy like Nate? Thanks to #NetGalley for the opportunity to preview #Icebreaker by Hanna Grace. I enjoyed reading it and look forward to the next Maple Hills release!

Five stars all around. I am usually very picky with sports romances because many of the authors don't understand the rules of college/elite sports (only allowed to practice a certain number of hours, NCAA rules, etc.) but this one was pretty realistic. It could've been two separate books with the amount of plot that was in it, but I enjoyed that it had more substance than a lot of romances. I love the mental health, disability, and LGBTQIA+ representation. Also Nate is A+ <3.

A quad Lutz would never be a pairs jump for a woman. Why did that irritate me so much? Not sure, but maybe it's because my daughter is a skater and I know the sport. I was along for the ride to see how it ended, but overall the book was a bit too young for me and very gratuitous. Predictable as well…not a big fan.

I was given an ARC copy from NetGalley.

I wanted to like this, but I just couldn’t. Maybe it’s because my tastes have grown in different directions, but the sexual content in this story just doesn’t seem very relatable. I felt like I spent 30% of the time that I read this mentally rolling my eyes. It just seemed very…young? I don’t know. Not trying to hate on new adult romance because I still find myself fitting into and relating to this genre, but it just seemed overdone. I didn’t really like many of the characters and I also feel like there may be too many characters as well.

This book was not for me, but that’s okay!

I've heard good things about this book on TikTok and Instagram, so I was very pleased to receive an ARC! "Icebreaker" is the first book in the "Maple Hill" series by Hannah Grace. This book centers around Anastasia Allen, a college student and competitive pairs figure skater. However, Stassie is having difficulties with her jerk of a partner. Around this time, she meets Nathan Hawkins, captain of the hockey team. While it's "hate at first sight", Stassie and Nate have to work together. Along the way, sparks fly and they realize they have a lot more in common than they first thought.

I appreciated the good chemistry between the two, and I always enjoy books that have male characters who are willing to be vulnerable. However, I thought the book had too many side characters and it was hard to keep track of who everyone was. I also felt these two college students got a little too serious too fast. Overall, it was a fairly cute book. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
