3.5 ⭐️ Weird. Creepy. Trashy. But … so entertaining!!!
The author created very imaginative pieces, I think it would make to a great graphic novel.
I really enjoyed it. Definitely will pick up the next book in that series!.
Thanks to NetGalley for a free audiobook.

Genre: General Fiction (Adult) | New Adult | Novellas & Short Stories

Narrator: Connor Brannigan

Thank you NetGalley and Doom Fiction for accepting my request to audibly read and review The Tower: The Bedlam Bible #1.

The Tower is too much out from my imagination. Pauley is able to pack a substantial amount in this short story that has strong sci fi courses. There are three situations/stories happening while the Eighth Block is developing -- the fourth story line per se. All the while these lines are taking place, the story has a beginning and ending.

There is an audience for this story, it isn't with me. However, I can appreciate that Pauley made writing a creepy, sometimes funny and odd story feel larger than it's few pages.

Connor Brannigan was a fantastic narrator. He kept my head in the story when I wanted to wander off.

3.5

The audio narrator was good on this one.

This one was like a fever dream…as are most books by this author. It def had some creepy elements to it.

I liked the concept and the atmosphere and think this would make a cool episode for a sci fi / horror type of anthology (ahem Black Mirror).

It was easier to follow and get to know the characters in this one because there weren’t so many of them.

I have….no idea what just happened? I guess this was okay, though it wasn’t really what I expected. I enjoyed the middle story, The Invalids, until it was revealed the clones were made by a closeted gay man so he could have sex with his best friend.

The whole book kind of felt like it belonged in the Welcome to Nightvale Universe, though it wasn’t nearly as fun.

I did enjoy the narrator, Connor Brannigan. I probably wouldn’t have finished this if he hadn’t been the one reading.

That’s definitely not what I expected. Many twists and turns along the way. I did enjoy the story but it was pretty difficult to follow. The narrator of the audiobook was great as well. I feel like the beginning was probably a bit better than the end. There a was a few… questionable moments

Overall I look forward to checking out this authors other works

I was pleasantly surprised by the storyline, which took a different direction than I initially anticipated from the first 10 minutes of the audiobook. The book itself captivated me, and I must commend the narrator for doing an excellent job of bringing the story to life. The narration was far from being grating or monotonous, qualities that could have easily discouraged me from continuing to listen.

In its entirety, the storyline and characters exuded a delightful sense of chaos. I'm eagerly looking forward to delving further into the series to uncover where it will take me next.

Thank You to the publisher on Netgalley for providing me with this Arc. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

Well, that was a messed up tale about a psycho tower doing a bunch or weird stuff. Can't wait to read the second book in the Bedlam Bible series.

I love that Connor Brannigan is the narrator for the series, his voice just adds to the creepy/weird factor of the books he is reading. I love listening to his voice.

Thank you NetGalley for a free copy in exchange for an honest review. This is a fun, trippy look into the tower, the setting for the Bedlam Bible series. I really enjoyed this book.

This was very weird and felt pretty sexist. I honestly wouldn't recomend this to anyone. It's supposed to be creepy and uncomfy and yes it is uncomfortable but not in the "Yey what a good thriller" more in the "what am I listening to".

Another great audio narration from DOOM Fiction. What is real and what is a hallucination at the Tower? I absolutely love the bizarre short stories. It’s a great palate cleanser from any other genre. Is that weird? My question is is there actual radiation or are these people just crazy?

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

THE TOWER

Something is happening to the residents of Eighth Block Tower...

There's radiation in the walls. Salt covers the hallways. The food and water are poisonous. A giant green brain pulsates under the roof, pumping electric venom throughout the apartment building. The residents are trapped and losing their minds.

Sanity is a myth. Sickness is life.

This book was just pure madness. Honesty, I'm not really sure what I just read. But it was definitely…. Ummm interesting. And the whole Killing women to make a someone gay part was bad….

I have no idea what the heck I just listened to.
A group of f'd up shirt stories with gore and homosexual sex clones!?
Yeah, there was that.
And a brain.
And cannibalism.

This was perhaps the most bizarre thing I’ve read in some time, maybe ever. It was disturbing, dark, absurdist, confusing, and surprisingly entertaining- even funny at times. I’m not entirely sure yet if I can claim to recommend it, but I will say that I am going to jump right into the next in the series, so that’s saying something for it.

The audiobook was enjoyably narrated by Connor Brannigan.

Thank you William Pauley III, Doom Fiction, and NetGalley for providing this ALC for review consideration. All opinions expressed are my own.

Really quick read with some wild concepts. I really enjoyed the straightforward but strange writing style, William Pauley III’s mind is a crazy place!

Under Green Brain was probably my favourite story. I liked the way all three stories connected, though the ending of The Invalids left a strange taste in my mouth, and not in a good way.

I wanted to like this but its so bizarre i struggled to get into it and didn't finish but Connor Brannigan was good as the narrator.

I liked how it was broken up into three short stories that were all connected. The second one, Invalid, was my favorite as the characters were likeable! Excited there is a second one.
Bizarre, creative science fiction with monsters and insanity.

The Tower is a collection of short horror stories all taking place within a building and its bizarre residents. Each story slowly unravels the truth about the building. While the characters experience the horrors of hidden cameras, brain matter and killers, the readers are left trying to decipher what was real and what was fake.

The book is a perfect blend of fast-paced weirdness, haunting moments, and humour. I really enjoyed listening to the stories and got through it in one sitting because I just couldn't stop listening. My favorite story was the first one called "Hypnagogia" but it was the shortest part. I would have loved to read even more about the two characters and their radiation hallucinations about fishing and God.

Overall it was a great collection of stories and I'll definitely be reading the next books in this series to see even more of the Towers residents.

The Tower is a collection of three stories taking place within the same building. I'll be honest I'm not entirely sure what I read, and I'm not entirely sure I'm supposed to know...it must be the radiation.

For me the first story, Hypnagogia, fell a bit flat. That is, until seeing these characters again in the final story from another characters POV and, for some reason, I found myself appreciating not only the first story but the whole book even more. Perhaps, i was just unsure what to think of this bizzare world? I was really drawn into the second story, The Invalids, and I absolutely loved the final story, Under the Green Brain. Like The Dude's rug, it really tied the room together so to speak.

All in all this was a really odd collection of stories and the more I think about the weirdness of them, the more I find myself liking them, and wanting to read more.

I'd like to take a moment to note that I listened to the Audio version of this book and I loved Brannigan's narration so much. They do a fantastic job of capturing the vibe of this story.
