I’ll Leave You With This is unlike any book, I have read before. The storyline is chaotic which mirrors the family about which it is written. There is an awful lot happening in this book and it is a true rollercoaster of a read. We follow a family of sisters, Alison, Bridie, Claire and Emma, who are mourning their brother and dealing with the aftermath of his sudden death. Each sister has an incredibly full, different and complicated storyline that makes this book, just unputdownable! The way the storylines intertwine is remarkable, and I have to say I enjoyed it immensely, this is my first novel from this author, and I was kindly invited to read it by the publisher. I think they chose the correct reader, because I am now a Superfan! The underlying plotline of organ donation and how that weaves its way through the story is incredibly unique. I really enjoyed this book and recommend it highly.

This was a refreshing and original storyline and I really enjoyed reading it. The story is well written and intriguing with lots going on to keep your interest. The story jumps back and forward in time but it wasn't confusing at all and certainly added to the drama. Although I did guess the end plot line, that didn't detract from my enjoyment of the book.

There are lots of intertwined issues in this family, which all come, slowly, to light as the sisters meet with their brother, Daniel's, organ recipients. The sisters are all well written characters, they are realistic and definitely have their faults but I do like them. I also loved Joel and of course John Thomas, Daniel's beloved Dachshund, they both add to the mix.

This is the first book by Kylie Ladd that I have read but I would like to read more; I liked her writing style and attention to detail. I thought she dealt with a difficult subject extremely well, with great consideration and understanding. If you are looking for a good book with family drama, some laughs and a lot of love then you won't go wrong with this one.

This totally captivated me from start to finish. It's quite an emotional read but comes with hope and is very much inspiring, heartwarming, and uplifting.

When their brother Daniel dies, the sisters have all drifted into their own worlds, not knowing what the others are all going through. They come together when they start meeting organ receivers that have a piece of Daniel.

The sisters are all flawed, and none are particularly likeable, but I was totally drawn into each of their lives. This ticked all the boxes for the perfect read

An excellent family drama, full of intrigue, well written with good characters.

Right from the beginning this novel packed a punch. At times I found it a bit slow but it was worth sticking with. The storylines gradually weaved themselves together to build to a rather satisfying conclusion..

A young life lost and remembered. When the younger brother of four sisters dies, he gives the gift of a better life to several people by the donation of his organs and tissue. One sister has the idea of following up on this by contacting all those people who wish to be contacted to find out the difference the organ/tissue donation has made to their lives. The sisters haven't been particularly close before their brother's death, but this draws them together. A strong and informative read with a satisfying ending which ties everything together.

Took me a while to get into this heart breaking tale of the sudden death of a much loved family member and it's impact on his sisters and how each of them deal with it.
It also brings up the subject of organ transplant, which was thought provoking

I absolutely loved this book. It follows the four O'Shea sisters, each so different and each facing their own struggles. The only thing they seem to have in common is their love of their brother who was shot and killed. Daniel was an organ donor and on the third anniversary of his death, Clare proposes they work together to track down some of the people who saved, in the hope it may also bring them closer together.
Ladd's characters are all very relatable and some of the moments were just heartbreaking. For me, the ending came around all too quickly and my only hope is for a sequel to see what happens next for the four siblings and their families!

It was the cover that drew me to request a copy of this ARC from NetGalley and I was pleased when my request was approved. What a lovely story!

What I liked about this book, is that it touches upon a very important topic around organ donation (I did not know it was about this before I began reading). Personally, it is not something I give much thought to and if I’m honest, I was always quite against the idea. I’m a regular blood donor but have never liked the thought of what may happen to my body when I’m no longer here. This book has definitely made me reconsider my initial thoughts around organ donation.

I loved the characters in this book and we get to read from their POV’s. The timeline also jumps from past events to the present but I did not find it difficult to follow. I liked the fact it portrayed the difficult family dynamics that can occur often in real life and despite our differences, loss is something we all share and sometimes is the catalyst to bring us together again. A moving and emotional read.

The story of a family of siblings, whose lives have been affected by the death of their parents at a young age and the death of their only brother. The remaining sisters are not close and although they get together regularly to remember their brother , the feelings are mixed when one of the sisters suggests contacting the recipients of his organs after his death. The story is told from the viewpoints of different sisters and at different periods of their lives. During the telling of the story, the sisters become closer to each other and come to understand their lives better.
A no nonsense narration, this book covers some difficult issues, organ donation, relationships , bullying , loneliness and strained family relationships. I liked the writing style and the characterisations are well done. The story is heartwarming though there are a couple of loose ends and it ends quite abruptly . This is a story of the O'Shea family whose brother is shot and the sisters each one different from the other one. I found this rather jumpy in places switching from one sister to another and different years so I could not really get into this book.
It was interesting how Clare decided she wanted to find out the recipients of his organs and each sibling reacts very differently.
This makes you think about appreciating what you have and make the most of your life.

This is a beautifully written story about four sisters lives after their brother Daniel passed away, and their journey to try and find the people his donated organs had given a second chance. This is quite an emotional read, all of the sisters have their own demons to deal with. The sisters have never been close, Daniel was the glue that held them all together. The story covers: organ donation, surrogacy, sibling relationships, self-harm, grief and most importantly - learning to let go. There is some humour, and the characters are all different, even though they are all sisters. Searching for the organ donors made me realise even more how important organ donation is. Just make sure you have plenty of tissues handy.

I really enjoyed this book. Brilliant characters and the family dynamics were described really well. Highly recommended.

The loss of Daniel in the first few pages sets the tone for the first part of the book, told by each of his sisters and encompassing memories of growing up with him and their adult relationships as well as their consuming grief.
As the sisters gather and the idea of tracking down and talking to his recipients is mooted the tone of the book changes in small increments to something positive, life affirming and beautifully told.
A book that will have you smiling through tears and really hammers home the importance of being a donor- 5 stars is not enough.

This is a fantastic book. It has a different, thought provoking storyline which is enjoyable to read without being too heavy, relatable characters with a family dynamic that is so familiar to many and wonderful descriptive settings. Fans of Liane Moriarty will I think really enjoy this book. It's a great book club read with lots to discuss. I will definitely be recommending this.

In October 2015 Daniel O’Shea is en route to a lunch meeting when he is caught up in a shooting and is tragically killed. Daniel is the glue that holds his four sisters together and obviously his loss is keenly felt. His sisters could not be more different from each other. The eldest Allison is an obstetrician, caught between her demanding job and family life. She has a tendency to be uptight - according to her sisters! Bridie, reputedly the family bulldozer, whose promising career as a movie director has stalled just as her actor husbands star is in the ascendant. Clare, a Nurse, is desperate to be a mother but several rounds of failed IVF leads to the failure of her marriage to Sophie. Emma is the youngest by quite some margin and is the quiet, thoughtful one who has turned to God to fill the aching void in her life. At the third anniversary dinner of Daniels death, Clare announces she wants to find the recipients of his organs and each sibling reacts very differently. Can this help to heal the obvious growing rift between the sisters? What will the journey of discovery lead to?

Initially I find this family/ character driven novel a bit clunky as it jumps from one point of view to another and with timeline shifts. However, once it gets going and the characters personalities start to shine through I really enjoy it. The characterisation is excellent, none of them are perfect but that’s what makes them feel authentic. Your heart goes out to all in various ways but the youngest Emma, so damaged by school experiences and loss, is my favourite and I suspect she’ll become the glue to fill the Daniel hole. Daniels ex partner Joel is wonderful too but the standout character is a canine! Daniels dachshund, the brilliantly named John Thomas (🤣) is just so funny and brings much needed light relief and humour in his destructive wake. Adorable!

The dynamics are excellent between these siblings as they rub each other up the wrong way or come together in unity with the ups and downs being so acutely observed. The constant changes keep giving surprises and some mellowing. The dialogue between them is also very well done and feels authentic.

This is not a lightweight family driven book by any means. Kylie Ladd includes some very pertinent issues which are thought provoking. Central is organ donation and much of that storyline is inevitably emotional and very moving. Infertility and surrogacy are another theme and the author does a great job in running these two alongside each other without being superficial. I especially love how the title comes about which is very apt.

This is a well written book and one that makes you reflect. This is my first read of this Australian author but I’ll definitely read more.

I enjoyed this heartbreaking, honest and thought provoking novel about the aftermath of a brother’s untimely death and its impact on his sisters. On the third anniversary of his death, Clare proposes that they contact the recipients saved by his donated organs. His gift of life makes each of them think again about their lives and motivations and does draw them together.

Each sister is very different and each does not understand the others but the search draws them together in ways I did not expect. I ended with a soft spot for both Joel and John Thomas.

A lovely read - to be recommended.

I was so looking forward to I'll Leave You With This and I most definitely wasn't disappointed. I remember the wonderful turmoil of emotions we all felt when my family received a letter from the recipient of my niece's heart and I was hoping Kylie Ladd would be able to embrace this. She did, in spades. Wonderful stories, great characters and a beautiful outcome.
