Many thanx to NetGalley, the author and the publishers for allowing me the opportunity to read and review this book.
This is the 1st book by Yvonne Maynard I have read and loved every page!! From the 1st to last page I thoroughly enjoyed the story and how the whole book evolved.
All about teens and how the actions we take when that age can have such an effect on, not only yourself, but others around. Characters were wonderful, very believable and ending was not quite what I expected but lovely all the same.
Very good read!

Firstly, once you've read this book, you'll understand that the title and cover were the perfect choice! The moment in time from the title is when everything really changed for each of the characters and connected their lives. Then the image on the cover is a central scene that as readers we pivot back to as the day it all changed; the day of the Queen's Jubilee.

This story covers the childhoods of Tom, Lucy and Grace during the hard years of WWII and their intertwined relationships of both love and hate. We follow them throughout their lives and on to the lives of their children to see the legacy left by their parents carries weight a lifetime later.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would have devoured it in one sitting if it had been possible. There were so many well hidden secrets and unexpected plot lines and its amazing how quickly you can both love and hate certain characters, then grow to understand why they are the way they are with a huge hit to the heart.

I would highly recommend this book and author and will be going on to read more of her work.

Beyond excited to read this book with a unique premise. Not my usual type of genre, but this looked very interesting and intriguing. Very interesting in the time period it is set and I feel this will be a great read to keep readers hooked if they are in a reading slump. I could see Reese Witherspoon making this a book club pick. Will be sharing more thoughts and a full review soon.

Spanning sixty years and set against the backdrops of WWII, the Coronation of Elizabeth II and the subsequent Diamond Jubilee, two women try to find the happiness and harmony they crave.

Julia, stifled in a loveless marriage, is driven to commit the ultimate transgression and set in motion a series of events which will lead either to self-destruction or salvation.

Lucy is tormented by the spectre of the other woman and desperate to uncover the secrets between her husband and the beautiful Grace Irvine. Determined to put an end to a lifetime of deception and lies, she learns that the truth lurks in a dark and sinister place and that despite the passing of years, Grace is as dangerous as ever.

As fate plays its hand and the lives of the two women collide, a story emerges of a murderous obsession, cold and calculated revenge and the irrepressible power of love.
