I ended up putting this book down when the first handful of fables fell flat in presenting any lessons or clever humor

This book was OK, but I had higher hopes than it actually delivered. I think I was maybe expecting something that was entertaining and educational, and unfortunately, this did not deliver on either level

A Wonderful Retelling of Aesop's Fables.......................

Business Fables Adopted From Aesop For Humans Who Work For a Living by Erika Shelby re- incarnates our favorite classic Aesop's Fables. Each story is set with animal characters and are full of humor and satire. And the most exquisite thing about the book is that it gives you an insight into the prevalent business practices. Also, it throws some light on many issues like employee exploitation, malpractices etc. I really enjoyed the book.

Definitely, 5 stars for the book. Thanks to BooksGoSocial and Netgalley for providing me with an opportunity to read and review the book.

Thoughtful modern business stories interpretation of well known fables. I definitely like the style and modern ideas introduced. If you are looking for some time to reflect on different business situations and enjoy new way of know writing styke, this book can be a good choice.

I chose to read this because I loved Aesop’s fables as a kid and am trying to read more nonfiction. This was a cross between animal references and characters and corporate structure.

I would have preferred each fable be a little longer, and maybe have some explanation/discussion afterwards about the lessons and meaning and how to apply that to the corporate world. For many of the fables it didn’t feel like the quick tale actually portrayed the lesson it was categorized as. I think adding a little length would have been beneficial. The connection between the animals and the corporate world was lacking, so using the animals did not really make sense. The fables felt unfinished (like the point wasn’t reached).

Overall this was a clever and unique idea- but the delivery was slightly underwhelming. I enjoyed the interspersed quotes after each section. For me that was the best part. This was a very quick read that could have benefitted by being a bit longer and including some explanation after each fable to really drive the point home.

Thank you to netgalley and lava gate press for the e-copy in exchange for a review.
