DI Matt Forrester is a DI, but resigns soon after his father's brutal murder, taking over his father's detective agency.
His sister, Hermia, works at the university as a researcher, and has taken over a late colleague's work researching the underworld of Sheffield, which leads to her getting severely injured.

The search is on for the murderer of Matt and Hermia's father and his partner at the agency, Johnny. The investigations lead to Matt's former colleagues being preyed on by ruthless gangsters.

I really enjoyed this police procedural. I like reading about the investigative work, and also the relationships of the policemen and women, with each other as well as their home life.

This book had a bit of everything, action, murder, romance and conflict.

All In all very enjoyable and held my attention to the last page.
