This picture book tells the story of two different young animals, one who is nocturnal and one who is diurnal. The lesson or theme throughout is that differences should be appreciated and that there are ways to connect with others even if they are different from you. The illustrations are unique and interesting and help tell the story. The story is well written and will draw in young readers. thanks to netgalley and the publisher for giving me the chance to read and review this book.

This was such a sweet book about meeting new friends, learning how different people (or animals) work, and how to make compromises in relationships so you can have healthy friendships.

This book had beautiful illustrations and the story was sweet, but ultimately I don't think my students would find it very interesting so I probably wouldn't purchase it for my library collection.

This is a cute book with adorable illustrations about two animals who live in the same tree and never see each other because of their sleep schedules.

This beautifully illustrated book is a little odd. Little rabbit is awake in the day and little owl awake at night. One full moon the two meet and become fast friends. Later on, they witnessed a shooting star, and both make a wish to be able to play together with each other more, and they are granted the shadow of the other animal. This ensures that they have a playmate until the next full moon. It’s odd with the shadows changing shape, etc. but quite lovely.

Thank you Floris books and Netgalley for access to this arc.

The story is sweet and gentle - about two opposite sleeping children (an owl and a rabbit) who hear about each other but have never met. Until ... one night they get the chance to become friends. But how do they remain friends when they hardly ever meet? Listen to parents who have good ideas and then follow through, that's how. Show your friend you care.

This is a nice lesson in making new friendships with others different than you are and working to keep those relationships going. The story is great but the illustrations are delightful and such that children will enjoy studying them to see all the little details - such as the children's toys. B

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. An adorable picture book about new animal friends. A great read for many little ones.

This is the sweetest book about Little Owl and Little Rabbit who live in the same tree. They know about each other from their parents but due to their sleeping patterns they haven't met, until one day they do and *gush* it is so sweet. The illustrations are immaculate as well. Highly recommend adding to your shelf and/or requesting your library get this book.

A story about an unlikely friendship between an owl and a rabbit. The illustrations are nicely done, especially the landscapes.

Genre: Fantasy, friendship, talking animals

Summary: Little Owl and Little Rabbit hear about each other from their parents but their different sleeping schedules mean they never meet. When they finally do, they immediately become friends and find different ways to connect, even though they can rarely meet in person, ending up sharing their shadows.

Verdict: I always like to look at Floris' books because they tend to have unique, beautiful illustrations. The texts are usually too long for the average read-aloud. This one was no exception, with a wandering, lengthy text. However, the cozy illustrations of the owl and rabbit households are adorable. If you have an audience for cute illustrations, this may be a purchase for your library.

This is an adorable book!! Little Owl and Little Rabbit live in the same tree but have no idea either one exists. Until one night they are both looking at the beautiful moon and they meet and play for a short time. Both wishes they could continue to be friends. Read to find out whether their wish will come true.
I highly recommend this book! The story is very sweet and the illustrations are beautiful! I can’t wait to get this and read this to my first graders!!

When Little Owl Met Little Rabbit is one of the sweetest children's books I have read in a long time. The illustrations were absolutely stunning. The little animals' wish under the shooting star made for a sweet twist as to how they could always be together. This would be a great story to read with a child who is moving or has a friend that is moving about how we can always be together when we are apart.

I was intrigued by this book based on the title and cover and I really enjoyed it. The story is beautifully illustrated (some of the images are so heartwarming I had to go back and look at them). The story itself is a lesson in tolerance for differences and understanding and finding ways to connect. Using an Owl and a Rabbit is a great way to illustrate this given their different sleep habits, etc. This is an excellent book for children who can already read basic books and want a book that will help them reach the next level of reading. This book is highly original and I recommend it.

Thank you to Netgalley and Floris for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

My family loved this book! Little Owl and Little Rabbit live in the branches and roots, respectively, of the same tree. When their paths finally cross, all they hope for is more time together. This is an incredibly sweet, tender, gentle, and kind book for kids (and their parents!) to enjoy. The illustrations are beautiful, the plot is darling, and there is just the right amount of whimsy and imagination. I highly recommend this book and look forward to more beautiful stories from this author and illustrator!

Thank you to Floris Books and NetGalley for providing an advance reader copy for my family to review. We loved it!
