“I Will Leave You Never,” weaves a haunting tapestry of emotions against the backdrop of a parched Northwest landscape. In the midst of a perilous drought, an arsonist ignites fires, casting shadows over Zoe Penney’s home nestled near tinder-dry woods. The flames rise, and haunting dreams of a little boy deep in the forest haunt Zoe’s nights.

Winter brings needed rain, as well as devastating news: Zoe’s husband, Jay, receives a cancer diagnosis. The family huddles together, their touch a desperate anchor against fear. As Jay’s treatment begins, nature responds with strange encounters, and a shadowy figure lingers at the corners of their house.

Zoe grapples with conflicting emotions including anger at the impending loss of her beloved, and the struggle to find happiness despite life’s turbulence.

Gradually, she learns a profound truth: it’s possible to love even terrible things when they are our teachers.

Putnam’s writing is unconventional, yet it resonates. Her descriptions of characters and settings are vivid, allowing readers to envision every moment.

A unique read that defies conventions, I Will Leave You Never explores love, loss, and the resilience of the human spirit.

A story of survival that I found rather scary. It's tense atmosphere makes it a gripping read with some heartbreak. I cried and screamed while reading but it is unique from start to finish.

One of my faves right now…a delicate telling of a family dealing with cancer of a over one, changes in family dynamics with dogs and children, and the teller herself apwith dreams that reflect things in her life.

An arsonist is setting fires and it is terrifying the whole area surrounding Zoë and Jay. No one knows where he will strike next. But, as life tends to turn on a dime…Jay gets a diagnosis which changes their lives forever.

When this story started, it was all over the place. I was a bit lost and there is no character development. That all comes later. I almost did not finish it. But, the further I got into the book the more the characters grew on me, especially Jay.

Jay has been diagnosed with cancer and it has torn his family apart and yet it has brought them together. Their strength, especially from Zoë, holds the family together during one of the worst years of their lives.

This is a tale of danger, trauma, and togetherness. I have lived through a close family member’s tragic bout with cancer and this author nailed all the sickness which goes with the treatments and all the thoughts that go with the diagnosis.

Need a heart-wrenching family drama…THIS IS IT! Grab your copy today.

I received this novel from the publisher for a honest review.

I Will Leave You Never by A. Putnam, published by She Writes Press, is a full-length, stand-alone novel.
Zoe and Jay are a couple and everything seems just perfect. But in the blink of an eye her whole world is put upside down, inside out.
A slow burn, a story of loss and love, poetic in its own way, an incredible read that had me in suspense from start til the last page, 4,5 stars.

I Will Leave You Never
A Novel
by Ann Putnam
I will leave You Never was a beautiful novel, written about love, family, pets and fires, and illness that affect the family. This book broke my heart. I cried for so many reasons. How strong she raised her little warriors. It was one I will think often about. A brilliantly, tender, written book.
