This book doesn’t have the same charm as the other two stories in the series. I found myself bored. Will still recommend to students who like the series

One of Us is Back is the third and last book in the One of Us is Lying series. The main characters are from both previous books, and there are three points of view in the main timeline and two others in flashbacks.
I did need the reminders of the previous books, but the book was written to help us remember as we went along, which I appreciated.
I enjoyed this overall. I liked seeing the characters again, seeing how they had evolved and grow and I enjoyed getting to know them again. I also quite enjoyed the intrigue and had no idea who might have done what until the very end. I was pretty enthralled from beginning to end and was rooting for the group the entire time. I read this in a day, I could not stop reading.
Basically, this was a very good conclusion to a beloved series.

When I heard that there was going to be a third book to this series I screamed with excitement because this has been such a great series and I couldn't wait to see what twists and turns would come next. Karen did not disappoint at all I felt like I got so much of the OG characters + the 2nd books characters which made for a really great murder club. You get to see how the characters and their relationships all continue and develop further as well as their parents. Just like any other murder mystery I had a hunch of who was at play though lots of the things that came out still left me stunned and wanting even more books in this series and with these characters. Great read especially if you enjoyed the others.

Huge thanks to NetGalley and Delacorte for the chance to read and review this book. Third book in this series and it did not disappoint! I have truly loved this whole series, but this book really did have twists and turns I didn’t see coming! Loved every minute of it!

I've starting reading more YA material and Karen McManus is one my favorite YA authors. This series sucks you in and I was excited to read this installment. It lived up to my expectations and kept the storyline going, developing more of the characters and their backgrounds along the way! If you liked her other stuff, check this one out!

This is McManus at her best. One of Us Is Back is on par with her greatest novels with the perfect structure of a roller coaster of a story.

You get the excitement mixed with the calmer moments so you can catch your breath before the next wild twist hits you.

I loved how this story perfectly ties into the previous two books in the series and leaves the reader satisfied with the conclusion.

And don’t worry. If your memory is as terrible as mine is, there’s really great “previously on” moments to help you remember what happened.

Another amazing addition to the one of us is lying series. Karen McManus does not miss! Full of fun and mystery, and some new introductions of characters, and bringing back some original ones. I highly recommend this third installment!

The Bayview crew is back in the best installment of the series! There are still more secrets to be unearthed and revenge to be had. It seems as though someone is resurrecting the old game when a mysterious message appears on a billboard. The crew work to find out what it all means and their discoveries put others in danger. I loved the multiple POVs - Addy, Nate, Phoebe, and even Jake and Simon. I kept trying to figure out what the connections were and how everything was going to be resolved. I think there are still opportunities for another book in the series if the author chooses to continue with it. If you enjoyed the authors previous books or YA mysteries then definitely read this! Thank you NetGalley and Random House Children’s for the arc.

This is the third in a series and I had previously read the first two books of the series. I really enjoyed the first book and thought the second was just ok.

This one did not work for me. Here are a few of the reasons:
-There were far too many characters to keep track of for me. While there are only 3 main POVs, all 8 (9 counting Cooper’s boyfriend Kris) play an important role. Add to that some of the parents, siblings, coworkers, classmates, etc and I was finding myself struggling to keep track of all the names and why that character mattered.
-The POV characters’ voices didn’t differ enough for me in this one. I have had this issue with other works by McManus but not the work from this series. This time though I would have to flip back sometimes to make sure whose chapter I was in.
-The reveal was extremely far fetched. I’ve read other reviews that talked about how nicely this reveal tied everything back together but to me it seemed like McManus was grasping at straws for how she was going to have this mystery be intertwined with the original.

There were some sweet moments between some of the “murder club” and for that I’ll give this one 2 stars. However I would not recommend this book. Probably not even to readers who have been big fans of the first two. Overall it just seemed entirely unnecessary.

I didn't enjoy this book as much as I did the first ones. Maybe because it's been so long since I read those. It was still enjoyable and and suspenseful.

One of Us is Back by Karen McManus is the third and final book in this series. I’ve loved each book and this one is no different. In fact, I feel like this was the best of the series. I will miss getting to read about this crew.

I don't reread often, but honestly I probably would have benefited from a refresher before going into this one. That said, while I was sometimes fuzzy on character backstory and plot points from the previous books (and I actually appreciate that the author doesn't waste space rehashing everything that's already happened), this was a compelling and solid mystery (that I do not recommend reading as a standalone, if you haven't read the previous books go back because they are very much connected). These teens have been through a LOT and this book throws even more at them, but along with a great mystery, watching the way they care for each other and grow is the best part.

In the last installment of the One of Us is Lying trilogy, there is more of what we all came to love from the first two books plus more sadistic plotting and psycho characters.

What’s not to love? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Now that Jake is locked up, everything should be back to normal in Bayview, and yet… it isn’t anything close to normal. A hacked billboard advertises the insanity they are going to live in this book. And the twists keep coming.

Here, we get up close and personal with a variety of characters: Nate, Bronwyn, Phoebe, Addy, Maeve, Cooper and many more. The only problematic thing for me here was that it was really hard to keep characters straight. There are just SO many of them and each chapter is from a different character’s perspective. When I stopped reading in the middle of a chapter, it sometimes got really confusing when I picked it back up.

Other than that, I think it was a nice ending to the trilogy and I will miss these characters (maybe someone will get a spin-off?).

I’ve enjoyed the, “One of Us Is Lying” series since the first book, and this next installment doesn’t disappoint! I enjoyed reading about all of the original characters and how well they integrate with the newer ones. The story is quick paced and definitely kept me guessing along the way. The conclusion of this story was not what I was expecting, which is why I enjoy this series so much. I’m left to thinking (and hoping!) that the book leads into another one in the series in the future!

It's been a while since I hung out with the Bayview Crew, but this book, published 2.5 years after the last one, does a pretty good job of recapping for those of us who read a lot and don't remember it all.

As a mystery, I felt this one was a little similar to One of Us is Next, but as a book that brought back ALL the characters and tied up their stories, I thought it was a great success. I loved that Addy got a bigger role in this book because I don't think she was very prominent in book two. Loved her friendship with Nate.

I feel like this is it for Bayview (could there be anymore revenge plots out there?) but I really enjoyed going back there to check on some old literary friends!

The Bayview Crew is finally back for one last adventure. This book was by far my favorite in the series. I loved that we got all the characters in one book trying to solve the mystery at hand. Along with the villain's from the previous books, which is key when to comes to wrapping everything up.

I jumped into this one headfirst and devoured it. From the start and the different POV's I was hooked. Especially with mystery behind Phoebe in the beginning regarding everything that happened in the second books ending. Then you get Addy, who is having a journey of her own that I just continue to love. And lastly Nate who is trying hard to build the life he wants for himself to get out! You also get two POV from past characters from six years ago that really helps to explain a lot of what happened.

This one starts with a bad joke on a billboard and Jake getting released from prison. From there things start to spiraling. Including Addy and the nightmares that come along with Jake. After that someone from the crew is kidnapped at house party at Nate's house. And so starts all the questions of why? who? Thus the crew is back in action and let the games begin.

Knowing this was the third and last book was sad but also amazing! It was so great to be back in Bayview but also sad to be saying goodbye at the same time. I will also love this series and would definitely re-read in the future. Unless Ms. McManus surprises us with another book!

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Childern's Press for the early access to this book in exchange for my honest review!

I truly enjoyed the first two books in the series, One of Us is Lying and One of Us is Next, so I was super excited to have the Bayview group back together.
I was not sure a third book would be as exciting as the first, but this was a hold on to your seat we are going for an intense ride kind of read. I didn’t guess the culprit until the end. This is a must read!
Thank you NetGalley and Random House for my ARC in exchange for my honest feedback.

The beloved characters from the first two books are back, hence the title, and there is no shortage of mystery. I loved this third installment and seeing the characters again, and I had a hard time putting it down once I started reading. It kept me guessing until the end.

One of the electronic billboards in town has been hacked, it says: Time for a new game Bayview. The Bayview Murder Club has changed their name to the Bayview Crew and are set to figure out what the sign means, and who put it up. Even if their lives are at threatened. The third title in the One of Us is Lying series bring the twists and turns that we've come to expect. This was a quick read with a very satisfying conclusion. Fan of the series will want to read this one.

Thanks to NetGalley and Random House for an advanced copy!

After the events of the last few years, the Bayview Crew has had trouble getting back to their normal lives. And when ads start popping up around Bayview for for a "new game" and their old schoolmate Jake gets released from prison, the Crew starts to get nervous. When things start to get dangerous and deadly, the Bayview Crew must work together to catch the culprit before it's too late.

This installment was just as good as the first two! The story follows the original Bayview Four along with the next generation of the Bayview Crew. It was fun to read a story with all the characters from the two previous books coming together. The suspense kept me reading and entertained! I loved following the characters through another mystery.
