This was requested when I first found out about NetGalley and I had requested so many ARCs that I could not get to all of them before they were archived. I really wanted to get to this one, as it seemed interesting. If I can find this somewhere for a reasonable price, I will try to get it! I am giving this book three stars, as I don't want to give it a good or bad rating, since I did not get to it and we have to leave a star rating.

Yeti Left Home by Aaron Rosenberg was so weird and awkward and fun. I felt so lucky to get a copy for myself! I have shared on my goodreads, bookstagram, and booktok!

This was a really enjoyable read. It would make a great book series. Wylie’s adventure to the big city was somehow still sweet and pure even with the other plot lines in the book. I would love to learn more about all of the other characters.

The writing was comforting and the book reads easily. Perfect to cozy up with.

Yeti Left Home is a cryptid adventure by Aaron Rosenberg where the Yeti features as a sympathetic and relatable everyman protagonist. Released 1st Feb 2023, it's 244 pages and is available in paperback and ebook formats. It's worth noting that the ebook format has a handy interactive table of contents as well as interactive links. I've really become enamored of ebooks with interactive formats.

This is a cute cryptid story featuring an adult yeti, Wylie, who has to leave his deepwoods mountain home and try to hide himself in the big city, Minneapolis. The story follows his efforts to blend in (most people he encounters see him as a big shaggy human), acquire food and shelter, and stay anonymous. Along the way, he encounters other supernatural beings, both benign and distinctly unfriendly, and develops and learns about himself and his place in the world.

Three and a half stars. The writing is very simple and there's quite a lot of telling instead of showing. The author is adept at storytelling, and although the plot arc is simple and direct, it's entertaining and a worthwhile, quick read.

Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.

This is a review of an ARC received in exchange for a voluntary and honest review.

Great for an afternoon read! I wasn't sure if I would like this book but I found myself intrigued by the cover and the unique idea of a yeti in the big city. Aaron Rosenberg did a great job capturing the feel and sense of community of a small town and the way a city can be overwhelming. Wylie was wholesome and sweet, and the plot had just enough mystery to keep me interested. Plus, I love a good cryptid tale!

I had never read a book about a yeti, so I was intrigued by this blurb and requested it. At first, I wasn’t sure I was going to like it. However, when Wylie arrived in the big city, events really moved along quickly. Wylie is such a gentle soul, and I love how his friends rally around him when he needs them. The writing is great, and I adore all the characters. They are fierce without being mean, and they all care in their own unique way even if they can be a little gruff. Add in an interesting mystery (even if solving it was a little too convenient in places), this was a great start to a series I’m eager to read more about. Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

This was such a fun book. I really enjoyed all the character and the easy pacing of the writing. It was funny and had a good plot. Somewhat reminiscent of A.Lee Martinez books.
This was my first by Rosenberg but certainly not my last.

I had a lot of fun reading this, it was a unique concept in the cryptic genre. I really enjoyed getting to know Wylie and the rest of the cast. It was a great story and I enjoyed the world going on in this universe. Aaron Rosenberg always has a great writing style and I've been a fan of his since Queen of Blades. It was a unique fantasy world and I'm excited to read more from Aaron Rosenberg.

"A muttered curse distracted him from his musings, and he glanced over to see Leo scowling at someone on the other side of the clustered group. Following his friend’s gaze, Wylie saw a fellow he’d seen around the past two days but hadn’t spoken with at all. “Problem?” he asked softly, and Leo cursed again."
