I wasn't sure I'd like this one, but I liked it in the end. Not everything worked for me here, but I enjoyed most of it. I may check out some of his other books.

Thank very much for the free review copy for review!!

Society is on the brink of chaos and a malevolent force has set its gaze upon humanity. All that stands between such perilous evil and our survival is a lot of unstable beings entrusted with divine powers no mortal should ever possess. We have created abominations that should never exist.

This is quite a slow paced book with a mix of supernatural, horror and sci-fi. I felt a bit thrown into the world and story from the beginning and I struggled with getting into the plot and I didn't particularly like the prose/ writing style. However it is a very unique plot with a set of diverse characters with strong female leads and the main character , Reo, who is blind is still determined, strong and a hero. Although this wasn't for me I would recommend for fans or Mecca anime and manga such as Evangelion.

this was a great start to the Berserker Saga series, it had everything that the description promised. It had what I was looking for in a plot for horror and didn't let go until the end. The characters were realistic and I was glad I got to meet them. Everything worked well and I'm glad I got to read this. J.R. Manga has a great writing style and it left me wanting to read more.

"Child of my son, blood of my blood. Abandon thy skulking and come to ye,’ commanded a distorted voice
from the murky throne. Reo’s heart sank to the pit of his stomach. He froze. He could not move even if he wished
it so. All of his limbs were locked in an unbearable hold."
