I am a huge fan of Solomon, and this book was another delight. I am really grateful for her Jewish characters, which are reliably not the same person every single time. I love the representation of mental health, and the lack of sexual shaming for whoever or whatever a person likes or has done. This book is a nice little bubble.

I loved this book- I'm a fan of the author, and I liked the premise a lot, so I'm not surprised I liked it so much.

I related a lot to the protagonists of this book (I'm Jewish and mentally ill) and their professional and personal frustrations. I really enjoyed the structure of the book following the couple on their journey across the country and also toward each other.

Calling this book a "slow burn" would be innacurate for the way the trope is usually used, but I could call this book an emotional slow burn. While Finn likes Chandler immediately, and they have chemistry, there is a lot of distance between them emotionally even when they are intimate physically. Though this is a single point of view, it's easy to see Finn starting to trust Chandler and open up to her.

I like the emotional arc of the book, and the world feels well-worn and present. My only gripe is that too much happens too quickly toward the end. There's a lot of development that happens subtly and slowly, and then it snaps into motion really quickly in the last fifty pages. I would have liked that climax of the story to happen a bit earlier, just to give it some time to come down for the happy ending. Otherwise, I love this story and continue to be a fan of the writer!

I love how Rachel always weaves themes of mental health in all her books. This one was serious and fun at the same time. Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for the opportunity to read in exchange for a review.

This was a very fun divergence from her previous books, and the characters had a lot more fun throughout the book.
The ending was sweet but not the happily ever after, and the tension/conflicts was very believable and easy to follow.

I really enjoyed this book! Although I am a little late with this review, it should definitely be on your books “to be read” list!
Chandler and Finn are great characters, and I was glad to see the woman taking the lead!

as a long time fan of solomon's romance novels, i am happy to report i enjoyed her latest 'business or pleasure'. the story follows chandler, a professional ghostwriter who has an awkward one-night stand with a random guy, who turns out to be actor finn walsh, the guy she's partnering with on her latest project. when finn realizes their night was far from enjoyable for chandler, he enlists her to teach him in the 'art of seduction' when they're not working on his book. as the two grow closer, both must see if it's possible to have it all: a professional relationship & a romantic one. this was nerdy & fun & i had a great time. the chemistry was fantastic, and the story moved really well.

This was a nice little slow burn with a nice amount of steam. Love that it had OCD and anxiety rep with positive messages on the importance of therapy! The messages of self discovery and the importance of putting yourself first was also nice to read. More of my thoughts will be shared in an upcoming video.

This is an absolute breath of fresh air to read that will literally have you laughing out loud at certain parts of the story. Such a fun read that will have you racing to the finish and then be sad it's over.

Love this book! Rachel Lynn Solomon is a goddess. Her transformation from YA to adult has been simply flawless.

I really enjoyed this one - a romance with a reasonable balance of spice, banter, and emotions that keep me interested from beginning to end. The plot was one that I haven't read before, at least to my recollection, and I thought it was refreshingly new and fun. Each of the characters had a bit of depth to themselves that they brought into the relationship which makes it easier to connect with them as the reader. It was refreshing that Chandler and Finn were so open in their communication as the miscommunication trope is well overdone. To me, it was an easy read from beginning to end, one that I just got sucked in to the enjoyment of the story rather than the whiplash of a back and forth, will-they-won't-they kind of distractions.

Although I was totally rooting for Chandler and Finn, I do wish there was a bit more of a development of their emotional connection, but that's just my preference!

Another amazing hit by Rachel Lynn Solomon and I would recommend this title to anyone that wants a new take on romance.

Absolutely hilarious--and spicy. I loved how healthy this relationship was overall, with some great communication AND fantastic mental health representation. The pacing was also different and refreshing!

This book wasn’t for me. The beginning completely cringed me out with the one night stand and I just couldn’t get into it after that.

Truth be told, I don't actually read a lot of Romance. It's not really a genre I actively seek out, or stock my shelves with. Not because I see anything wrong with it, it's just not a genre I tend to gravitate toward on the regular. With this being said, however, I do have a handful of Contemporary Romance authors that I gel with quite well. I do seek out their stories and pick up everything they put out. Rachel Lynn Solomon is one of them.

I love RLS. It's her character work and dialogue that really does it for me. I enjoy how well-rounded her characters are and how they aren't perfect. Each one will have flaws, or personal challenges, that they are navigating through in addition to the romance elements.

Business or Pleasure follows Chandler Cohen, a ghostwriter, who after penning a memoir for a social media influencer has become unsatisfied with her current career path. She's not sure how much more she can take of being pushed to the shadows and overlooked. Leaving a business event feeling down on herself and unsure of her future, Chandler heads to a bar. Relatable.

It's there she meets an extremely charming man. He seems interested and she definitely is. One thing leads to another, and the most awkward hook-up ensues. His moves left her cringing, but he did try. Feeling unsatisfied, Chandler takes off while he's asleep; less uncomfortable that way.

She blames her bruised ego from the night before for allowing it to get that far and then vows to just get on with her life. It's too bad, he was really cute though. Her ability to get on with her life starts sooner than she expected when she gets a call from her agent, offering her a new project, to ghostwrite a memoir for a C-list actor, Finn Walsh, best known for his role in a cult classic werewolf television show.

We're talking full on CW here, people.

Finn spends most of his time now traveling around to various conventions, where his fans still come out in droves. He's had some other work, direct to television movies, that kind of thing, but he's sort of stuck in a rut of his own.
This memoir will allow him to tell his story. To help people to see who he really is, versus his character's persona.

Chandler never watched the show, but she definitely knows Finn. The man of the awkward one-night stand. How can this possibly be her life?

Nevertheless, awkward moments aside, Chandler accepts the assignment. She's really going to get to know Finn now, whether she wants to or not. The two end up traveling together, as he keeps up with his convention commitments and works on his memoir at the same time. There's a huge elephant in the room and they decide to talk about.

When Chandler admits their encounter was well short of mind-blowing, Finn is mortified. No one has ever told him that he wasn't performing as well as he could, or should. Trusting her, Finn requests Chandler school him in the art of satisfaction and she's more than ready to teach.

I thought this one was a lot of fun. I always enjoy Solomon's characters and romance plots. This one is extra steamy and promotes a message of sex positivity, as well as open and honest communication amongst partners.
I thought the relationship between Chandler and Finn was cute, although I could have done with more focus on the emotional areas and less on their sexual relationship.

That's purely personal taste though. This is still an above-average Romance read, IMO.

This story includes some mixed media elements that added to the fun, such as excerpts from Finn's show. I love fandoms and those excerpts definitely helped to build out that vibe surrounding Finn. As a couple, these two are off the charts cute. I actually felt there could have been a bit more tension, miscues, or miscommunication between them.

I know that sounds crazy to say, as we all always complain about the pointless miscommunications, but it does add a bit to the basic problem/resolution format. There was a little bit of that, but this almost seemed too easy. Either way, it was a ton of fun, I am glad I made time for it and I can't wait to see what RLS comes up with next!!

I missed this title when it first came out and am so sad for that. BUSINESS OR PLEASURE was sweet, transporting and surprisingly sex-positive. I'm excited to read more from this author.

Business or Pleasure was a fun read. I enjoyed the reverse "teach you" trope in this book. I thought the honesty between the characters was delightfully refreshing.

This is the first book I picked back up after a huge reading rut and I’m glad I did! I thought the characters were dynamic and the plot was hilariously refreshing. The author did the steamy scenes well too.

Deliciously awkward. Imperfect adults behaving maturely, yet still loads of fun and humor. I loved these characters, adored the plot, and enjoyed the (high) steam.

Imagine a cute guy and a less than memorable one night stand. And then the next day it turns out you're going to work with him. How do you think it would go?

I enjoyed watching this scenario play out. It's a very sex-positive book. I would have liked a little more action in the plot. This is definitely an open door book.
