This might be my favorite Rachel Lynn Solomon novels. I thought the premise was so good and the characters too. I enjoyed the fandom aspects, with the characters attending Comic Cons and sharing about their nerdy childhoods. But the relationship between the two characters really sold the story. They both had their own struggles and difficulties to overcome within the relationship but also in life. I especially connected with the way Chandler struggled with staying in a reliable job or following her dream. Overall, if you enjoy reading a romance with very real characters, a fun story, and a happy ending then I would recommend this one.

Wow this is my favorite Rachel Lynn Solomon book yet!
I loved these characters. Chandler doesn't know in the beginning where her writing life is going, then she meets Finn Walsh, a celebrity who is looking to have his memoir written and wants her to write it.
As they get to know each other, they both discover more about their lives as a whole.
They have such great chemistry! And I loved seeing Finn as a celebrity but also a real person as he opens up to Chandler.
But we can't forget the side characters too! Chandler's family and her cousin Noemie. And I loved how we have the Jewish faith intertwined throughout.
I also loved the little nod to her other book in here and to some great companies out there.
A really really great book!

Be still my nerdy heart! I loved every minute of Business or Pleasure. From the con life to obsessing over a supernatural tv show to the sex positives vibes, Business or Pleasure is sure to please any reader on multiple levels from the brain right town to your socks covered feet and every place in between.

I love Rachel Lynn Solomon's books! As usual, so cute. I've given every one of her books 5 stars. I loved the reference to The Ex Talk. I hope she keeps writing!

I loved Rachel's YA so I thought I'd try out her adult works, too. I'm glad I began with this one. I love the love letter of this book to fandom (something I'm super familiar with as a fandom dork!), as well as the way Chandler approached her sex education with Finn ;-)

So, first let me say that the many, very horny sex scenes are 10/10. They are fun and sex positive and well written. They were by far my favorite part of this book and I hope Solomon keeps writing extra steamy romance because she is GOOD at it. I didn't love the boss/employee dynamic, but that part was pretty subtle and I think was intended to be offset by the teacher/student sexual relationship. The con setting was cute and I didn't even mind that Finn was weirdly naive for a person who's lived and worked in Hollywood for so long. I only wish they had a different connection to each other instead of the ghost writer/subject situation.

I love this book. I love the characters. It has the BEST dialogue and I'm all about great dialogue. It was hard to put down and I can't wait to add it to our shelves!!

I liked this one! It adds a few good doses of realism while still maintaining many of the tried & true tropes of romcom! The perfect balance of a fresh angle, without alienating tried & true romance readers.

The characters were fun & the scenario of ghostwriter & actor feels realistic in how they were thrown together, I enjoyed their communication and it was a clever jolt to typical romance world stories that their initial 'one night stand' did NOT go well. Both characters have interesting career and personal struggles going on & their banter is witty and cute. Definitely a lot to hold the reader's interest here and I do enjoy the proudly-nerdy aspect of Finn's LOTR obsession and the fact that most of the book takes place as he makes comic-con appearances across the country for a cult-hit werewolf TV show.

The discussions of anxiety, OCD, and Jewish culture & religion generally fit well in the plot & just occasionally feel a little bit preachy/inserted to make a point to the reader - but overall, this one is above-average - I will highly consider getting it for the library & will recommend to readers.

Wow. Wow wow wow WOW WOW WOOOOOWWWWW.

Admittedly, every single Rachel Lynn Solomon book I've ever read has been a banger for me, but Business or Pleasure fucking HIT. RLS PIECRED ME RIGHT IN THE GODDAMN HEART. She's probably one of the only authors who could make me love an insta-lust book, and all of this existential crises stuff hit a little too close to home. (For instance, why are Chandler and I stalling at writing the same genre of book? Is Rachel Lynn Solomon just following me around and scribbling notes? It's uncanny!)

All of that aside, Chandler and Finn were just the most delightful couple, and the slow burn throughout this novel was sensational. The kissing lessons were delicious and the parts about Judaism were poignant. That said, when will my real-life work as a writer lead to me meeting a cute, thoughtful actor with a heart of gold who once played a nerd on a werewolf show???? Is there no justice in the world????

Also, the greater Seattle metropolitan area owes Solomon a bazillion dollars or something for how much free publicity she gives that city in every book. The Pacific Northwest is probably the only part of the U.S. I haven't explored yet, and now I strictly want to go to Seattle because RLS makes it sound so damn cool.

I absolutely adore the way Soloman writes and her romances always hit the spot for me. I've been a devoted fan since reading The Ex Talk, and I enjoy both her adult and YA books. Business or Pleasure is no different - it might actually be my favorite of her adult releases.

OMG this book. I couldn't put it down, it exceeded my high expectations for it. I adored Chandler. stuck in a bit of a rut, she takes the safe route in life and is trying to figure out whether or not to stick with her ghost writing or dive into her passion of writing her own original work. She was feisty, driven, family oriented, and I just enjoyed her as a protagonist.

But what happens when last night's terrible one night stand ends up being your next client to ghost write, a former teen star stuck in a rut of his own. Oh Finn, why are you not real. I may have pictured a red haired Dylan O'Brien which only added to his wow power. A complete dork, just soft nice guy, who may not be good at sex but is eager to learn. Especially to learn how to get Chandler off. He was just swoony, nerdy, soft, and not perfect, but perfect for her.

Rachel Lynn Solomon writes amazing single POV books. Dylan was a fully realized character. I was along for the ride as they accidentally became friends, got to know each other through writing the book, and you know agreed to teach Finn how to succeed at sex. This was so effortlessly sex positive, sexy, and just soft and had me cackling constantly. Chandler did her best to keep him at arms length but fell for him in an effortlessly tropey book.

This was a masterclass in rom com writing and honestly I'm just bummed that Finn's show isn't real (you can't read this without wanting to go watch some Teen Wolf or whatever your favorite teen show was) and shake your kindle in hopes that Finn will just fall out because he is book boyfriend perfection.

Give this woman all the stars! I absolutely love Soloman’s writing style and her romances just do it for me. I’ve been a devoted fan since reading The Ex Talk and throughly enjoy both her adult and YA books. The dialogue is natural and quirky, the characters are real and relatable, and the chemistry is always off the charts. Business or Pleasure is no different. It might actually be my favorite of her adult releases. Celebrity love interest (with massive Adam Brody/Joseph Gordon-Levitt hot nerd vibes) that’s a total cinnamon roll, struggles with imposter syndrome, Jewish representation, one bed, forced proximity, workplace romance, sex positivity, and steam on steam. I’m sure I’m missing some but that should already be enough to sell you. Definitely the steamiest of her books, but it was well done and served the story. I spent so much page time blushing! My favorite part is that there was no miscommunication. These were two amazing characters communicating like adults. Even the routine third act breakup wasn’t lame. Overall, absolutely loved it! Romance readers need to add this to their TBR because it will not disappoint. Already can’t wait to reread it and I’m excited to see what Soloman writes next.

Let me tell y’all, this one delivered. It was spicy, sweet, tender, nerdy, fun, thought provoking, mature, and all around wonderful.

The spice was SO good. This was a “teach me” trope done right. Open communication, honesty, and the ability to share what one likes with a partner. It was refreshing to read those discussions, with zero miscommunication (my most hated trope). Plus, TONS of mental health representation done well, not just for show.

Finn and Chandler are perfect. They encourage each other. They support each other. They respect each other. Another absolute home run by RLS. <3
