I work in the field of Human Resources and have worked in global corporations over my career - I wish I had this book when I was first starting out! This book lays down a very important paradox - on the one hand global companies want consistency in their approaches to human resources and people management and on the other hand want local customization. There is a "Universalist "approach that often is biased towards United States thinking and paradigms when the organizations are headquartered in the US. This book argues that we also need to look at a contextual approach as well in order to address different stakeholder needs and requirements. This book has a fantastic structure - learning outcomes, introduction of the topic, reflective activities, key framework, case studies, conclusions and key learning points and questions, a "explore further" section, and extensive references. They also have online resources available. This is a critically important book for human resource professionals and leaders who need a good foundation understanding about how to manage all aspects of talent in different countries and contexts. .

Thank you to Netgalley and Kogan Page Ltd, for a free advance copy and I voluntarily wrote this review.
