This book brings an interesting story about how the family environment can integrate or disintegrate people. To this end, the author uses two identical twins who, given the amount of love they receive from their parents, have become more or less problematic.
A few parts of the book are predictable, but the plot is very clever and has the right amount of twists.
It is a smart and engaging book, and I strongly recommend it!

3.5 stars. I suppose I should have seen the twist coming from a mile away, but I didn't. Elevated the book from a run-of-the-mill story to be more meaningful overall. I didn't much care for Emily/Cat, but I did understand her.

Deliberately losing herself in London, Emily quickly transforms herself into Cat. Along with her new name, she finds a new home in a shared house in North London teeming with an odd assortment of flatmates, and a new job as a receptionist. Intricately plotted, well written fun for fans of domestic thrillers with plot twists at the center.

I received a free copy from NetGalley. What would make a women wake up one day and leave behind her young son and her life? And her new life is anything but easy. I got lost with the names a few times but otherwise a tale that keeps you wondering right until the very end by going back and forth from now to then.

Interesting novel, but not what I typically choose to read. I still enjoyed it, but probably wouldn't re-read it.

If you're into psychological thrillers than this is for you. The whole premise of the book kept me wanting more; why did she do what she did kept eating at me. The characters were well developed and the plot gives you more than just what you're expecting. You think you may know until the very end and then BAM! Something happens and you're swept away in the plot twist.

This flowed well-enough to finish, but was sorry I did. Characters were interesting and the premise (why did she leave?) keeps stringing the reader along. But the big twist turns out to be a major "bait and switch." Some will like this, but I disliked it intensely. The writer intentionally (I went back and read it over to check) manipulated the reader into believing one very important thing, and then switched it towards the end to be something entirely different. She tried a few more last minute twists as well, but I just found those annoying. I do not recommend.

I really enjoyed this story finding it well developed, including the characters and family and their relationships. Very real feeling. A psychological novel that is part mystery and part family drama both things I enjoy a great deal. Definitely a book to recommend

This story follows her as Emily Coleman leaves it all behind her home in Manchester, her husband Ben and Charlie, her twin sister Caroline and parents without a word & heads for London without looking back. She starts over again, finding a flat share, a friend in Angel & a new job. What has driven her to do something so drastic?

I really enjoyed this story, following Emily (known as Cat Brown in London) through her new life. Its not until the end of the story did the author reveal the reason she left, which was so sad. The whole book flowed well, with flashbacks between the past and present. The whole book had me gripped from beginning to end. Excellent read,
Woukd thoroughly recommend.

I received a copy of this from netgalley in return for a honest review.

This is a good story for those who like thrillers with a psychological element. A woman driven to reinvent himself. Great concept and has been suggested as a readalike to The Silent Wife.

This was a very different story of a woman who leaves everything behind and starts a new life. It was interesting, even thought I didn't find the characters likable.
