This was a cute and fun read! Set in a small town during the winter off season, so it’s a great cold weather, snuggled up by the fire read.
Leah was so relatable, I loved her. And, minus the whole prolonged holding onto Victoria thing, I also really liked Eli. They were so sweet together and easy to root for. Loved the found family by the end - though the sister/friends behind the Eli-makeover felt a little forced for the plot. The whole makeover thing started out kind of funny and served its purpose in bringing Leah and Eli together…but after a bit, and Eli holding onto the idea of Victoria so much longer than he should have, it got a bit old. But I was happy with how things did finally work out in the end. I could have lived without the Victoria/Fabrizio scene towards the end…It felt unnecessary but I suppose was just to give solid closure to Eli and Victoria.
Overall this was a nice, feel-good happy fluff romance and I enjoyed it. The narration was great also and made the story even better - I would gladly pick up and/or listen to this book again!

This book has my heart. I abs loved and felt for leah so much! She deserves all of the happiness in the world.
Dealing with heavy topics such as grief and finding your happiness as you heal my heart was mended by the end of this book. I abs loved Eli and leah and The narrator did such a great job bringing this story to life for me!

This had a cute concept, I especially liked that Eli was the one getting a makeover and part of the process included him watching classic rom com movies from the 80s and 90s. Leah was a really likable character with an interesting backstory but Eli really annoyed me. He spent most of the book pining over his ex girlfriend and it was just too much for too long for me. But I did enjoy the themes of found family and friends to lovers even if it took waaayyyyy too long for Eli to stop being an idiot. I listened to this one and thought Erika Schindele was a fantastic character and probably helped my irritation with the hero come down a notch. I’m going with 3.25/5 here, I usually don’t do quarter stars but it’s what I’m feeling here.

It was ok/cute.
I don’t mean this in a negative way, I only mean that it isn’t mind blowing. I really liked the characters and the premise was intriguing but as far as story goes, I feel like it fell a little flat.
Leah is such a likable character. She is kind, works hard, and has a different background having been raised in the foster system. While this is used in the story, I feel like there was a lot of potential that was left behind.
Eli is also easy alike, but you want shake for being stupid when it comes to what is in front of him. They work well together, and the chemistry is great, however, I feel like the end fell flat. There was nothing that pulls them apart or brings them back together, as you would expect. The end just… fizzles ok.
Made for a good audio book and I liked the narrator.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are mine alone.

This book felt like a middle school love story. No one is expressing anything and such childish behavior. No thank you.
Thank you NetGalley for providing me a ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this RomCom. I'm always up for a RomCom so when I saw this I knew I just had to check it out. Some bits in the beginning made me roll my eyes and somewhat dragged, but once i pushed on it got so much better. I enjoyed the author's writing style. This book had the all-time-favorite friends to loves trope. It also had great character development, funny moments and the aww factor that we all seek. I loved the ending! The narrator did an amazing job, kept me interested.
I received this ARC audiobook from the publishers and NetGalley, to listen to and review. All of the statements above are my true opinions after fully listening to the audiobook.

I got further through the audiobook than i did the ebook of this, i really just don't think this book's audience is me. It's kinda slow and dragged out but not in a slow burn tension kinda way where its more enjoyable.
Narration is the reason I got further into this, it is well done but doesn't distract from the story that i wasn't enjoying.
I appreciate the opportunity to listen and review this audiobook!

This was a friends-to-lovers rom com with a makeover theme. This was fun and sweet, but there were some slow parts.

A little too predictable than I would have liked. I loved the movie references though. Good characters and a good escape listen. Enjoyed the narrator.

Quick Summary: A Before and After Romance
My Review: The Rom-Com Agenda by Jayne Denker was quite the romance. It was as if the main characters were at the wrong place at the right time...or should I say the right place at the wrong time?
About the Book: When Eli made plans to declare his heart to the woman of his dreams, little did he know what the outcome would be. Leah knew, however. As she heard this wonderful man profess his feelings for another, she understood what he did not.
When Eli and his close supporters ventured into Leah's place of business, she remembered what happened to him. From everything she learned about him, she saw that he was a good guy. He was a catch, just as he was. No change was needed. Whatever he was before the tragic event of days past didn't negate his awesomeness in the present. Could he become her forever after? More importantly, could she become his HEA?
My Final Say: This book was touching, especially when you consider that it was all about connection. It was about family and friends. It was about compassion and acts of kindness. It was about love. Readers who enjoy those themes will adore this story.

I love rom coms, so this was right up my alley! Eli’s makeover was so unnecessary, but that was part of the fun! Eli and Leah’s conversation and analysis of the rom coms was really cute. Leah’s found family was so magical and honest. I loved the friends-to-lovers, but I adored the other parts even more!

This sweet, slow-burn, friends to lovers wintery romance is for all the rom-com lovers out there!
When Eli gets dumped his friends try to help him out by assigning him a list of rom-com movies to watch in order up his boyfriend appeal. What ends up happening is a lot of one-on-one time with new to the group, Leah. Leah has come to town for the last year to help care for her dying foster mother and is in the process of clearing out her house.
I LOVED this friend group and the way they welcomed Leah whole-heartedly into the gang. An orphan who had been in an out of foster care all her life, Leah has always felt aimless and alone. Plus all the great rom-com movie references and the great friends to lovers tension between Leah and Eli had me savoring every moment!
Great on audio and a perfect wintery read sure to give you all the feels. Recommended for fans of authors like Sophie Sullivan and Sarah Adams. Much thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital and audio copy in exchange for my honest review. This was my first book by Jayne Denker and I can't wait to read whatever she writes next!
