Finlay and Vero are back in this third installment in the series by Elle Cosimano, and, as things so often go for the duo, hijinks and high-stakes scenarios ensue.
Someone is still coming for Vero. Feliks still expects Finlay to deliver a deceased EasyClean. Finlay is struggling to please her editor with the *ahem* content for her latest novel. And something is up with Steven—again. Can’t Finlay just catch a break?
I think this is my favorite Finlay novel yet. We get more of the romantic entanglements, several laugh-out-loud moments, some “Be careful, Finlay and Vero! You are going to get caught!” situations, and some touch-and-go circumstances. And, of course, things are left a bit open-ended at the book’s conclusion, making you eager for that next title to come out sooner, rather than later.
Once again, Elle Cosimano’s book defies being pinned down to one genre in this fun Finlay trip. Hop on over to the citizen’s police academy and enjoy the show.
I listened to this one on audio and highly recommend it. Angela Dawe’s narration was fantastic. I could close my eyes and picture how it all went down. I laughed out loud. I grinned. I held my breath. If you are an audiobook lover, do yourself a favor and pick up this one.
I received an advance copy of the audiobook from Macmillan Audio and NetGalley. All review opinions are my own.

I read the first two Finlay books, but I loved the opportunity to listen to the third installment! Such a fun series and excited for it to continue.

NOOOO! Get back here I need more! This series is so good I hate when I am done. Finley and Vera are wonderful characters. I love their banter. This installment has the best setting. It’s so unique. I cannot wait for the next book!!!

I would like to thank Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for my ARC copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. Angela Dawe is wonderful as the narrator for this series. Her Vero just makes me laugh:-). I found myself laughing out loud quite often in this romantic thriller. Elle Cosimano has created a runaway hit with the series when it comes to dynamic duo of Finley and Vero. I like them better than Mary Kay Andrews' Weezie and Bebe. I was a little disappointed that Julian, Stephen and Finely's kids were only brought in select scenes but the setting it made sense that they were not present. Hopefully, they will return and be more present in the next book. Two words: OMG! Cliffhanger!!! Speaking of next book in the series, Ms. Cosimano, hurry up and write that one before 2023 ends :-) I need more Finley Donavan (& Vero) in my life.

As with the previous two Finlay Donovan books this one has funny moments, witty comebacks - especially from Vero - and antics that are stress indicting as well as ridiculous!
I liked this one well enough but I was very ready for a nice happy ending rather than a cliffhanger. The amount of frustration I felt as the story didn’t really end was very high but I will, of course, be continuing the series when number 4 comes out!

3.5 stars
The hi-jinx abound in this third installment in the Finlay Donovan series. Finlay and Vero enroll themselves in a citizen’s police academy to track down the identity of “Easy Bake”. This book definitely had some Stephanie and Lula vibes (if you’re an Evanovich fan). I don’t want to give away spoilers but this was a fun, if sometimes over the top, addition to the series.
Shout out to the narrator, Angela Dawe for another job well done!
*Thanks to MacMillan Audio and NetGalley for the advance listener copy for review.

This is the third book in the series and I think it’s my favorite! The first book we got to know our characters and go on a wild ride with them, the second book we learned a little more and this one—we learned even more about the secondary characters and things got even crazier! Highly recommend! I listened to the audio version and the narrator is the best- she gets into the story and does different, distinct voices for each character. Cannot say enough good things about this book series!!

BUCKLE UP, Buttercup . . . Get ready for a WILD ride!
Ellie Cosimano returns with her popular series (Finlay Donovan #3) FINLAY DONOVAN JUMPS THE GUN —the gang is back for another highly entertaining laugh-out-loud crime series!
Two of my favorite amateur sleuths return, Finlay and Vero. Romance, action, mishaps, mayhem, and lots of LAUGHS!
Finlay Donovan is a writer and is under a lot of pressure and stress with her deadlines. Her nanny, Vero—partner in crime sidekick— is wickedly funny, sarcastic, and always in trouble.
Finlay is having issues making her romantic suspense novels sizzle while being a frazzled divorced mother of two children while skirting the law.
If you have read the other books in the series, you know about Feliks Zhirov, the Russian mobster, and the pressure to identify EasyClean, the online contract killer.
Feliks is privy to their dark buried secrets and is holding the information over their head to blackmail (threatening) them into helping him identify Mr. EasyClean, a contract killer who may or may not be a dirty cop.
Vero has borrowed $200K from a loan shark to pay off her creditors and needs to sell the Aston Martin (Vero/Finn).
Rumor has it, EasyClean is a member of the Fairfax County Police Department.
Finn and Vero accept an invitation to the citizens' police academy, hoping to get a closer look at the most likely suspects. So cool!
👮♂️ 🚓Of course, hottie Detective Nicholas Anthony is the academy's coordinator. Finn tries to avoid him because she tends to be on the wrong side of the law with her shenanigans. (think Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum and Joe Morelli).
Will Finn and Vero survive boot camp? The identity of EasyClean?
As always, sassy, funny, witty, sexy, and full of madness and entertainment! Cosimano is clever and witty, and I love her banter among the highly relatable characters.
The characters are a riot. Just like Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum, you have this great cast of characters, and as always, I always get the audiobook of both Janet and Elle's books. Between the literary agent, Sylvia and Vero, you will laugh out loud.
🔉 🎧As always, I love the audiobook, and the narrator, Angela Dawe, is fantastic! She makes the book. Like Stephanie Plum, Lorelei King, the narrator as Angela Dawe is to Finlay series. Both fantastic!
Between the murder, madness, mystery, the hot guys, the funny literary agent, and the entire cast—Keep them coming.
Nick, the hot cop love interest
Javi, Vero’s friend
Georgia, Finlay’s sister, and a police officer
Joey, Nick’s current partner, is he a good buy or a bad guy?
Charlie, a retired cop and Nick’s former partner
Steven, Finlay’s ex-husband
Julian, a young lawyer love interest
Mrs. Haggerty (the community busybody)
Sylvia, the pushy literary agent
I am in this for the long haul, so if Evanovich can pull out 29++ and spin-off, I am ready for more Finlay!
Highly creative and fresh, I highly recommend this series. Have read the previous two, and this one is just as spectacular! If you enjoy well-written comedies and zany resourceful women sleuths, this one is for you!
Can't wait for BOOK FOUR!

Finlay Donovan is one of my favorite characters ever. She’s so relatable (maybe as another mom of 2). She’s funny, fearless, dedicated. I discovered Elle Cosimano’s first Finlay book on NetGalley and have been hooked ever since!
In “Jumps the Gun” Finlay and Vero are at it again. They’ve been tasked with a job to get them out of trouble, again. But of course it’s mob related and mildly impossible. This just makes it all the more fun as the reader goes along for the ride. Finley’s possible romance with detective Nick continues to build. Meanwhile she’s trying to quickly write a best seller, while dealing with her ex Steven, and learning things about Vero.
Finlay and Vero end up in a weekend cop-camp which may be the worst (or best) place for them. They continue to unravel the antics of things going on around them all while trying to stay off the suspect list.
Cosimano never disappoints. I loved the audiobook! Every character has different voices. I wish Vero sounded a bit younger. But I was totally booked and listened in two days.
I sort of love that we’re left with unresolved issues because it makes me assume we’re getting more Finlay! Netflix, let’s go! Pick these books up! They’d make the best series!

Finlay and Vero are at it again! This time they must discover who Easy Clean. This isn’t no small feat. It was hard for me to figure out who Easy Clean was.
I loved the banter between Finlay and Vero. I feel like the narrator, Angela Dawe does an amazing job portraying all of the characters. The twists and turns this story takes is fun and addicting to listen. Finlay’s character seems like she’s finally ready to take the next step with a hottie.
The book nicely set ups the beginning of the next book and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Thank you to Netgalley, McMillan Audio, and Elle Cosimano for an advance listening copy of Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun in exchange for an honest review. I have thoroughly enjoyed every book in The Finlay Donovan series thus far and this one stole the show for me! I found myself completely immersed in Finlay and Veros escapades and loved all that each supporting character added to the story as well. Every piece of this puzzle fell perfectly into place and left me NEEDING another book- that ending though! The narrator also did a fantastic job bringing the characters and the storyline to life. This one comes out on 1.31.23 and deserves a spot on everyones bookshelf!

This is what I'm talking about! I couldn't put this down. I was so happy to get back into another Finlay book and visit her world and this installment did not disappoint.
Finlay has a new task that she can't say no to, as a matter of life or death, so she's off with Vero to find out the identity of Easy Clean. In this book, we see a lot more of Nick, which I adore. We see more of his vulnerable side and more of Finlay's as well. We also see that there is more to Vero than we originally thought. We learn that she has some bad people after her too, and what is even happening with her and Javi?
I feel like a lot happened in this book, but also a lot "didn't" happen as most of the relationships and story lines were left open for the next installment. I am really looking forward to what happens next for this team of craziness.
I love the narrator to these books! She does such a great job with the voices and emotion.
Thank you to Macmillian, Netgalley and Elle Cosimano for an early audio copy.

I have mixed feelings about this one.
It’s entertaining and easily readable but I didn’t really enjoy it.
I don’t know if it’s the cheesy lines, the way things compound ridiculously, or the lack of basic communication that would solve a lot of problems.
I could however see this making a well received tv show.

First of all, as a notice to potential readers of this book/series, you will definitely need to have read the previous book in this series to know what's going on in book 3. This isn't a standalone adventure using the established characters. Oh, what the heck...just go ahead and read book 1 too. You'll be glad you did!
This book continues the adventures of writer Finlay Donovan and her "accountant" Vero. The Russian mafia storyline continues and hilarity ensues. Well, hilarious for us sometimes, not so much for our heroines. Will they be able to get out from under the mob issues? I'm not going to spoil anything here.
Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for an ARC audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Another fun adventure with Finlay and Vero. I enjoyed learning more about the citizens police training academy. There are a lot of unbelievable things that happen but I let those slide because the books make me laugh at some of their antics. The characters are fun and the stories keep you guessing the whole time. I can’t wait to see what happens next in Atlantic City.
Narration was well done, no issues although McLean (VA) was pronounced incorrectly.

Thanks and NetGalley for the advanced copy of the audiobook. I have enjoyed the Finlay Donovan series. I was looking forward to this book. This one was still good but not as good as the first two. I really enjoy this narrator.

I enjoyed this 3rd book in the Finlay Donovan series. Each book connects to the previous books, so I would highly recommend reading them in order.
Most of this book takes place at a camp for regular people to get some of the same training as cops. I liked the combination of bad guys/cops/bad guy cops, with “good girls” that accidentally end up with a lot of dead bodies…
Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook!

I love this series so much. Even though parts of this book felt slightly like filler to keep the story going, we get enough plot progression by the end of the book to even it all out. The hijinks are completely over the top (as usual) but if you’ve made it this far in the series you know what you’re getting into. Vero continues to be the standout character for me and I’m excited that it seems like we’ll be getting deeper into her story with book 4. Also thrilled to be making some progress in Finlay’s love life… for now. Give me one million books in this series!

FUN! Did you like the first two books? If so, you’ll like this one too!
Finlay & Vero sign up for Citizens police academy in an effort to cure Finlay’s writers block & they’re under pressure to investigate for Felicks. So many hilarious antics & the problems of single motherhood. Characters from the last two books return. It’s open for a 4th book
I highly recommend this book if you enjoyed the last two. Madcap good time!! Nick returns as Fin’s interest, yesss!
Thank you NetGalley & Macmillan Audio! I can’t wait for book 4!!

I absolutely love this series. You just never know what Finlay and Vero will get into next. I love it catches you up quickly in the beginning.
Not my favorite of the trilogy, but full of Finlay fun nonetheless. It is really Lucy and Ethel with a dash of murder. A perfect set up for the next book.
If you have enjoyed the previous books, you will enjoy this one.
