This is my favorite Finlay Donovan book yet! I loved the new setting, the continued focus on female friendships, the romance, and of course the over the top humor. Are some of the villains totally ridiculous? Yes, but it makes it that much more fun! I laughed out loud and enjoyed every second. I listened to it on audio as I have done the full series and the narrator did an excellent job per usual. Cannot recommend enough!

I don’t know why I didn’t read this series sooner! These fast paced mom-coms are seriously entertaining! I laughed so much while reading these books!

Finley Donovan is a recently divorced mother of two, and if dealing with her cheating ex-husband isn’t enough, she has accidentally gotten herself tangled up with the mob! This latest installment of the Finley Donovan series picks up about a month after the second one ends and Finley is up to her old tricks in this page turning cozy mystery! This book grabs your attention right from the beginning and the fast paced action will keep you hooked until the end! I love Finley, she is smart and resourceful as well as having a wicked sense of humor. Finley is supported by her sidekick, Vero, and a cast of quirky and endearing side characters. This book introduces a few new characters that are great additions to the series.

I listened to this series and the audiobooks are some of the best I’ve listened to! Angela Dawe is an amazing narrator. I felt like I was listening to a full cast audiobook!

This book was a little different as things weren’t wrapped up quite as neatly at the end. The way this one leaves off will make it hard to wait for the fourth book!

While I loved these books, I realize that some of the story lines are a little far fetched. However, these are funny, light hearted, cozy mysteries, and the entertainment level makes up for that!

I would recommend this series to fans of the Stephanie Plum novels. The characters and story lines remind me of those books.

The wait is finally over!! Finlay Donovan is back!! I did not think the author could top the antics and messes Finlay found herself in the first two books, but I was wrong. It had been a while since the first two books released so I was afraid I would not remember much of them, but the author did a good job writing a recap into the beginning of this book. I was fortunate to receive an audiobook version of this story. I thought the narrating was flawless and devoured this book in a short period of time. With so much mystery and humor, I did not want to stop listening and did not want the story to end. So much is finally revealed in the end and I was totally surprised! I still have so many unanswered questions so I can't wait for the next book in the series. I needed it yesterday!!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

Finlay Donovan is back at it again!

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series so far and this book did not disappoint.

Finlay and her essentially live-in best friend, Vero, are in the process of working again with the Russian mob to complete some requested tasks. Finlay and Vero take it on while at the citizen's police academy, navigating Nick, the hot cop in Finlay's story, her ex-husband, and learning more about Vero's past. They do this with the odd grace and humor of the previous books.

If you love this series, I think you'll love this book just as much! Would not recommend reading without the first 2 books for context.

Another great Finley Donovan! This is the third in the series and I have loved each one. Finley is both smart and occasionally hapless, like the very best of us. I love seeing a harried mom as the hero, having adventures that do not revolve around motherhood. Great narration again, it perfectly fits the tone of the book.

Fun read - entertaining - laugh out loud funny. There are times when you just need to read some well-written silliness. The Finlay Donovan series is just that. This title is the third one in the series. 'Finlay Donovan Is Killing It' is the first. Finlay Donovan Knocks 'Em Dead is the second. While it is not necessary, I think it is best to read this series in order. You get a fuller understanding of the characters and the reasons behind their actions. The character development is great even with all of their quirkiness or perhaps because of it! I love that Finlay is an author. She writes from her experiences - they are so unbelievable that they belong in fiction! It is comparable to watching/reading a ROM-COM only with contract killers and dead bodies - along side kids and diaper bags. The sexy police detective is icing on the cake. Enjoyable reading with many laugh out loud moments! I am waiting for the next in the series with a smile! The audio book for this series is excellent and I love the narrator - she does an superb job with the different voices.

This is my new favorite cozy mystery duo! I cannot get enough of Finlay and Vero. I went into this book blind without reading the two pervious books in the series and now I have to go back and read the first two books to have some more Finlay and Vero in my life!

The mystery itself was amazing! Even when I thought it was done and all was sorted and I knew who was “good” and “bad” Elle Cosimano threw in another twist.

I would recommend this book to everyone. It was such a fun read! The characters are all awesome and Finlay and Vero are not your typical cozy mystery characters which brings a very young and fresh feel to the genre. And Angela Dawe’s voice bring these very exciting woman to life in a way that makes them feel like you want to be their best friends.

Thank you @NetGalley for allowing me to read this advance copy.

Finlay Donovan seems to not be able to let me down. Like always Finlay is a mess and always has me on my toes. I know deep down things will work out but I am always on the edge of my seat and laughing, As always you have suspend your belief so much. I love that we are learning more about Vero and her history.

This book is fast-paced and quite humorous. While I have not read the beginning of the series, I found I could still follow what was happening. There were some holes, yes, but not enough to make it too difficult. I quickly discovered that I really enjoy the relationship between Finlay and Vero - I love the dynamic portrayed. And the sarcasm! My kind of best friend!
The supporting cast was great! From Feliks to Cam to the infamous ex. Each one brings their own trouble, but in a very humorous way. I did not fear this mob.
The relationship between Finlay and Nick seemed a little stilted and difficult. Maybe it is here that I need the background, but I didn’t feel the sparks flying.

I now have to go back and read the rest of this series. Reading out of order is not usually how I like to do a series.

Thank you Netgalley for the chance to review this. @netgalley

Ah, I was so thrilled to receive a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review—thank you, NetGalley and Macmillan Audio!

As an adult, I’ve had a hard time finding series that I can really invest in, and that’s partially why I love the Finlay Donovan series so much: Each installment gives me a chance to catch up with characters I’ve already grown to love. Cosimano has done a good job of building trust with the reader through consistent humor and hijinks.

In Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun, Finlay is once again reeled into a plot of murder and is forced to walk a narrow line between solving it and keeping it a secret from officer Nick. The bulk of the story takes place at a citizens police academy, lending a locked-room feeling to the whole story because Finlay and Vero are pretty restricted to one location. The forced proximity worked well in some ways but also felt too limited in others. I kind of missed following them from place to place like in previous books.

Like other reviewers, I’d say this is probably my least favorite of the three, but I still think it’s a solid book, and I’m still excited to see where else Finlay takes us in future books.

This third installment of the over-the-top Finlay Donovan series might be my favorite! This book is so much fun! This series is best read in order. Usually when reading a series I feel that there is too much recap, but that is not the case in this series. If you love cozy mysteries, this series is for you! I can't wait for the next one!

The audiobook was very well done!!!

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with a digital advanced copy!!

3.5 stars rounded up

Thank you NetGalley for the advanced audio in exchange for an honest review.

I think this might be my last spin with Finlay and Vero. The first book was fun and new, book 2 was fine, now I feel like we are just dragging it on. The book was still entertaining but kind of felt like a lot of filler to get to the next part of the saga.

I do love the narration of the three books so far and if I do pick up the next book it will most certainly be on audio (so long as the narrator doesn't change!)

I love the narrator of this series. Love Vero.

I think that this particular book didn't hold my attention as much as the other two in the series.

Either way, Finlay Donovan is a fun to read series and a great cozy mystery.

I LOVE the Finlay Donovan series, and decided to do a reread of the first two books leading up to the release of book 3.
If you’ve read the first two, book 3 picks up right where book 2 left off and continues the same outlandish and wild storylines. If you haven’t read the first two books, without giving too much away, this hilarious series follows Finlay Donovan, a romantic suspense author and divorced suburban mom who has somehow accidentally continued to be mistaken for an assassin for hire. She, along with her nanny/friend/”accountant” Vero, find themselves at the center of some pretty big mysteries and in the middle of some hilarious and dangerous situations. This book has it all - drama, mystery, suspense, laugh out loud moments, and even a bit of romance. If you haven’t read it yet, I highly recommend it.
Book 3 continues to live up to the hype and has all the things I adore about the first two books with the added bonus of giving us a bit more background into Vero’s life. I flew through this book in just one day because I needed to know what would happen next. The ending appears to set up book 4 and I cannot wait!
Thanks to Minotaur books and NetGalley for the advance copy!

Elle Cosimano does it again.

Finlay Donovan just can’t help but find herself in the middle of chaos…this time at a week long police department training workshop. As she’s trying to dodge the Russian mafia, find the assassin for hire, decide how she feels about a certain “hot cop”, her biggest challenge is writers block.

As usual a fun campy murder mystery with humor, irony, and a cast of characters that propel the story. Love this series and hope there will be more!!

I LOVE THIS SERIES!

FINLAY DONOVAN JUMPS THE GUN is the third book in this series. It’s such a fun, cozy mystery, and was so comforting and nostalgic to be back with beloved friends Finlay and Vero as they head into this next book full of shenanigans and maybe a dead body or two.

Finlay is so relatable as a Mom just trying her best to do the single-parent thing while on a deadline crunch to write her latest book, and I really enjoyed the antics once again.

I loved the book and also listened to the audiobook, completely immersed in the story and blocking out the world to read.

*many thanks to Minotaur and Netgalley, Macmillan Audio for the gifted copy for review

I'm new to Finlay Donovan but really enjoyed the story.

There were plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, soon followed by holding-your-breath scenarios as Finlay and her live-in nanny/accountant Vero try to raise two precocious kids while evading a certain criminal element and keeping their cop friends close.

The story was fast-paced but fun, and I look forward to reading other installments in this series.

Thank you to Elle Cosimano, Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for an advance review copy.

When I was approved for this audio, I immediately searched out the audio for the first two Finlay Donovan books. (Thank you Scribd!).

WHY IN THE WORLD DID I WAIT SO LONG TO READ THESE??!

I LOVE Finlay. I love how all these outrageous scenarios keep happening to her.

Definitely glad the cop made a larger appearance in this book.

I've seen some complaints for this isn't realistic and that there is no growth in the characters... my thoughts? Who cares?! I love that I get caught up in the story and the sarcasm, the friendship, and the craziness.

I can't wait for the next one!

I am a big fan of Finlay Donovan. It is always full of humor, mystery, and friendship. Yet this one is my least favorite. It seems like the storyline just keeps dragging on. With that being said it was still a good read, just needs to change it up a bit.

Fans of Finlay Donovan will not be disappointed by her latest installment! In this third book, all the character favorites Finlay, Vero, Nick, Stephen and others are back as Finlay manages to get herself further involved with the Russian Mafia, law enforcement, and loan sharks. With the familiar humor and wit as the first two novels, Finlay fans will thoroughly enjoy more of her adventures. Like the other two books, you have to suspend disbelief and just enjoy the (far-fetched) ride. I would not read this book unless you read the first two, or else you might be thoroughly confused. However, the author does a good job of catching the reader up on the first two books in case it has been awhile since you read them.

I listened to this book on audio, and the narrator does a great job. If you are a Finlay fan, do not miss this one! And the ending leads me to believe there will be a 4th book, so buckle up!

Special thank you to Netgalley and MacMillan Audio for this ARC audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
