I really enjoyed “Archer’s Voice”, so when I found out I got an ARC for “Travis” I was really excited. I always wanted to know the backstory to his character and when reading the book, I was able to get a full view. It was nice to see Travis grow as a person as well as see the aftermath of his actions in the last book. I found it interesting, and honestly I think it’s a must read. Even though some may not think so. Definitely a 5/5, thank you Netgalley for the ARC!

I’m starting to think Netgalley publishers are targeting me with these ACR. They don’t want my review they just know I’ll fall in love and buy the book. Mission accomplished, I’ve already pre-ordered it for when it comes out tomorrow. Sometimes you can read a romance and wonder how are these people falling in love? It never thought that because of all the banter between the main characters. It is a very heartwarming story about redemption, acceptance and finding yourself. It shows that you don’t only find yourself in your early adulthood, you can find it later as well. I think Travis went above and beyond in redeeming himself.

Unfortunately Archer still has my heart 10000% but wow I loved Travis. He definitely redeemed himself and I couldn’t be happier. I was hoping that more would happen, I found the book just a bit too boring for a Mia Sheridan novel but I still ate this up and loved all the healing and trust!!!
Mia will always be an auto buy author for me and I am so happy to see Travis really open up and make amends with everyone while finding love.

Only Mia Sheridan can make me fall in love with a character that I previously hated, and I mean HATED.

This follow up doesn't quite have the same gripping emotion of Archer's voice, I love a good redemption story and I loved the chance to renter that world.

This book was a tad cheesy for my taste, but still worth the read!

Travis by Mia Sheridan is the second book in the Pelion Lake romance series. It’s set in Pelion, Lake, Maine and features Travis Hale and Haven Torres. Travis is the town’s chief of police and has a family who has mostly forgiven him after several bad decisions years ago.
This book was all about Travis. I loved him and I loved seeing his point of view. His redemption was just so good. And I’m such a sucker for a broken character/misunderstood villain redemption story. Read this if only for Travis redemption!

"It's meant to work that way, isn't it? All the things that have brought us pain carve a distinct hole in our heart, and there's someone else out there with the perfect something that will fill the void."

I have to admit, I enjoyed this more than I enjoyed Archer's Voice. There's something about a redemption arc that always gets me, and makes me just want to soak up every little bit of the story. And I think my favorite part is we don't just get to see Travis grow exponentially from where he was at in Archer's Voice, we also get to see Easton grow and Haven grow in ways as well.

Which is even more cute when you think about the fact that Haven is a full-fledged plant lady.

I wish Pelion was a real place, because it sounds just like the little slice of peace that all of these characters say it is. It almost reminds me of Stars Hollow in a way, with its charm, craziness and all.

Travis is set to be republished on April 4, 2023. Thank you to SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books, Mia Sheridan and NetGalley for the advanced digital copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Unfortunately this one isn’t for me. I wasn’t a fan of Archers Voice but wanted to give this author another shot but again it fell flat for me.

When I read Archer's Voice, I had nothing but hatred for Travis. He wasn't likable in the least until the very end when he put others before himself. From the beginning of this book, it was evident that Travis went through a major metamorphosis; his relationship with Archer and his family was on a good note. But his personal life left something to be desired. He lost his girlfriend, his rental house was flooded that he had to check in to the B&B, and everyone in town was speculating he was the reason why his relationship fell apart. When he met Haven Torres, she was the last person he expected to be his safe space, his own personal haven.

This book was riddled with self-discovery for Travis. Feeling like second best his entire life, Travis doesn't feel worthy. It didn't help that his mother fed him toxic thoughts, still wanting revenge for the husband who left her for Archer's mother. I sobbed when Travis got rid of the evidence that he could claim half of Pelion Lake from Archer. That exhibited the selflessness he's learned over the years. Travis was a redemption story that showed that even the most hard-hearted of people can change and accept love and support, that they could be a pillar for someone else who needed to plant roots, that he was worthy of the love his brother and family gave him. Spending time with Haven aided in Travis's metamorphosis. It was with her that Travis could love and be loved.

I received an advance copy of this book at my request from the publisher and voluntarily left this review.

I really wanted to love this one as much as I loved Archers Voice, that being said, I still found it enjoyable, the bits with Archer and Bree were unsurprisingly my favorite parts.

I read Archer's Voice last year and couldn't wait to read Travis' story. I love a good redemption story! I really enjoyed reading about Travis and the characters in the small town of Pelion. Haven is a feisty heroine and I would have liked more of a backstory. Also, I felt that the issues Travis and Haven had that kept them apart boiled down to poor communication--one of my pet peeves!

Travis Hale grew up with the feeling that he was second best to Archer Hale and it has led him to an adulthood where his greatest fear is being someone’s second choice. After reading 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘴, I have to say, his feelings are accurate. 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘴 is no 𝘈𝘳𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘳'𝘴 𝘝𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦.

I think all of bookstagram collectively loves 𝘈𝘳𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘳'𝘴 𝘝𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦, and 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘴 just doesn't compare. That's not to say it's a bad book. There is character development and depth to this one as well, but I just feel like it pales in comparison. I didn't like Travis in 𝘈𝘳𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘳'𝘴 𝘝𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦, and while he does make some positive steps in the end of AV, I was still curious how a book with him would (or if it even could) change my opinion of him. While we do get more of his back story and this helps us to understand some of his behaviors in AV and maybe be more sympathetic to his character, I still didn’t fall for him like I did Archer, and it wasn’t enough to sway me personally to feel as much towards the characters in the book.

Objectively speaking, 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘴 has a lot of the elements that readers loved about AV. Mia Sheridan does a great job with prose and writing a story that engages the reader. I flew through this one in about 2-3 days and it was easy to read. There is tragic backstories for both of our main characters. There are some quirky townspeople who make the reader chuckle. There are all the small town vibes and some pretty well written smut in there too. I truly do think other readers could enjoy this one like they did AV.

However, subjectively speaking, I just couldn’t connect with Travis and found myself cringing and rolling my eyes at a lot of the things he said (looking at you - “I date prom queens”. What kind of man in their 30s says that?). He was still pretty unlikable at the beginning and I didn’t feel like he did enough through the book to hook me until his “growth” at the end. I liked Haven well enough, but didn’t feel a connection between Travis and Haven like I did Archer and Bree. There was some chemistry, but we also had a heavy dose of miscommunication/lack of communication that I struggled really caring about them for a lot of the book. I did LOVE all the times that we got to see Bree and Archer and their happy family now, and there was a nice ending with some more closure with Travis and Archer that made me happy.

Overall, I was disappointed in my return to Pelion, but I know it was my personal feelings towards Travis and how long it takes his character to develop in this book. The book was fine and worth reading, and there were definitely good elements to it, but it didn’t give me the same feelings I got when reading 𝘈𝘳𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘳'𝘴 𝘝𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦.

I rate this one 3.5 out of 5 stars

I received a copy of this book from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I really loved the friendly dynamic between Travis and Haven. The storyline was a nice addition to Archer’s Voice which I really loved also.

Travis was exactly what I was hoping it would be. It wasn’t the perfection of Archer, but that magic would be hard to capture again. Absolutely loved it.

I have been waiting to read this book since reading Archer’s voice. Archer’s voice was one of my favorite reads last year so I knew it would be hard to top. I was so happy to get a few mentions of Archer and Bree throughout the book! I was worried I was going to hate travis, since he wasn’t very likable in Archer’s book. Travis surprised me and I actually really enjoyed his character in this book. He truly got his redemption story. I always love books like this where the girl comes to visit a small town but isnt staying and then of course falls in love and has to make a decision. I also really liked Havens plant loving character, and her brother Easton (who i hope gets a book of his own!). The ending was a little more than I needed, but overall I loved this book!

Thank you netgalley for this ARC

If you read Archers Voice and loved it, you will want to check out Travis to see more of Archer, Bree and Travis. It was definitely great going back to Pelion and seeing if Travis could become a better person after everything that happened in Archers Voice. I definitely enjoyed reading more and learning about events from Archers voice but from Travis’ point of view. He definitely redeems himself in this one.

SO good! Such a great follow-up go Archer’s Voice! I was so thrilled to get back to Pelion Lake and with the characters and small town I fell in love with. This one felt much quicker and lacked some of the depth I would have loved to see, that Archer’s Voice had.

I want to preface this review by saying that I did not read Archer’s voice before picking up Travis. I know, I know. But after I convinced my friend to give me a couple MILD spoilers, I was not lost at all.
From what I gathered, sounds like Travis needed a little redemption, and in my opinion, he got it!
I really REALLY loved his and Haven’s friendship/relationship. The changes Travis went through from the beginning to the end of the book made him a very like-able character. And don’t even get me started on the “crew” of secondary characters! 😍😍

Now I MUST go read Archer’s Voice and get the rest of the story!

MIA SHERIDAN NEVER DISAPPOINTS!! This is my fourth book from her and I of course loved every second of it! If you loved Archer's Voice, you'll love this one!!

Travis Hale is the chief of police in the small town of Pelion, Maine, regularly has women fall at his feet, two nephews and a niece he adores, and a family who's mostly forgiven him after a series of unfortunate decisions years before. His life seems great until a new guy, Easton Torres, messes up Travis's idea of his future comes into town with his sister. Haven Torres is a smoothie-making, crazy plant lady from California. She is not at all Travis's type but that shouldn't matter because she is convinced that Gage Buchanan is her perfect match. Travis and Haven end striking up an unlikely friendship in which turns into Travis helping Haven get with Gage, them getting to know each other and their pasts. But soon things become quite complicated between the two when they try to figure out what they are to each other. Haven is suppose to only be in Pelion temporarily but is a special someone going to convince her to stay?

I was immediately sold when I heard that Travis was gonna have a redemption story. I know he wasn't the best in Archer's Voice but I truly did see the potential that he will become a better person! I am truly grateful that Mia Sheridan wrote Travis's story so beautifully. Haven perfectly complements Travis! I also absolutely loved that Bree & Archer were mentioned quite a bit in the book! The ending of this book really got me. I can always count on Mia Sheridan to make me cry in the heartbreaking and beautiful way. Her writing gets me every time! Every single character she creates are people I wish I could be best friends with. Highly recommend this book.

I just have one question for Mia Sheridan, WILL THERE BE A GAGE BUCHANAN BOOK?? That's all I am asking for!!!
