⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Travis is a novel by Mia Sheridan. This book is a continuation of Archer’s Voice. It centers on Archer’s half-brother and villain from the first book. Travis Hale is the police chief of Pelion, Maine, with a beautiful girlfriend, and his family has mostly forgiven him for his past mistakes. Haven Torres and her brother are running from their tragic past by taking a road trip across the country. When the siblings end up in Pelion, Haven finds herself drawn to Travis, and what starts as friends get complicated quickly. Travis and Haven must reconcile their pasts to have a future together.

I love a good redemption story. Travis is a complicated, intricate character. Travis has felt second best his entire life. Travis has made some egregious errors and is still paying for his misdeeds. Travis’ journey of redemption is gut-wrenching and hauntingly emotional. I wanted Travis to find peace and happiness. The reader sees a broken man striving to improve but is dragged down by his past. I fell in love with Travis and his journey.

Haven Torres is trying to run from her past. Haven has significant trust issues. She is afraid to let anyone in who could hurt her. Travis is that threat. Haven’s journey to reconciliation and peace was beautiful.

This book is emotionally explosive. Every detail has been lovingly written. The secondary characters were terrific and made this book exceptional. I loved the backdrop of small-town Maine. The story moved well. I was intrigued from the first page. The last four chapters and epilogue were perfect! Travis and Haven had to work hard for their happily ever after, but it was a joy to read. This was my first book by Mia Sheridan, and I will read Archer’s Voice. I highly recommend this to readers who love small-town contemporary romance.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book through Netgalley and the publisher. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I really loved this one! When I seen that Travis had his own !book, I am not gonna lie I was hesitant to read it because I HATED Travis is archer voice! But oh did Mia Sheridan give him the best redemption arc and I ate it right up! It’s 8 years after Archer voices and I loved being back in the small town of Pelion! Travis is now 32 and the chief of police and Archer is the mayor and owns the town. And right off we get to see him, Bree and their 3 sweet kids which just made my heart so happy! Travis isn’t the same man he was when he was 24 back when he learned the truth about what happened all those years ago, but he is still holding on to a lot of guilt and unresolved feelings. Like something is missing from his life. That’s when he meets our FMC Haven, Haven was such a sweet character and I loved her plant loving optimism ways. She felt like sunshine in a bottle to me! She hasn’t had an easy life and her and her brother are on a road trip across the country, and are only in town for the summer. something happens to Travis rental home and he finds him self in an odd B&B and Haven just happens to be staying there as well! They have such great chemistry, but both know it can’t be anymore than friends because she is leaving at the end of the summer and Travis has no idea what he wants and is fighting a battle in his head daily, but haven brings something out in him, she is the final step and making him want to be a better person that he knows he wants to be. We really get to see into Travis mind in this one, and how his growing up affected him. And i honestly just loved everything about this, the maine characters, the side characters, the town! This is a slow burn with a few spicy scenes but compared to archers voice I found that part tame! But not complaining I think it fit the book perfectly! This book just really felt like a big hug to me!

Thanks so much for this arc!

I loved Archer’s Voice & I’m so glad Mia Sheridan wrote this story about Travis.

Of course in Archer’s story we sort of hate Travis. He’s been cruel to Archer his whole life & even threatens his relationship with Bree. We do learn that the boys both had different versions of the same story. The boys seem to make up but it still leaves us weary of Travis.

I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about our past “villain” in his own love story. Yet he needed this redemption. We learn so much more about why he is the way he is. It really makes you think about the impact your parents have on your life. (Also as a parent of small children it gave me a different view of how my parenting will affect my kids forever).

Travis meets Haven who is just passing through their town. She too has her own demons. The two pretend they’ll just be friends but the writing is on the wall throughout every one of their interactions. Havens brother is found in bed with Travis’s girlfriend at the beginning of the story. Travis seems to want revenge but the more time he spends with Haven- the better of a person he seems to become.

He finally puts his heart on the line & Haven can’t promise to stay. It’s then when Travis makes good on his promise to get revenge. And this is where the book lost me a bit. It gave “teen-movie” vibes and I hated this part of their story. After we watched Travis make so much progress it was disappointing to say the least. He finally won over readers who hated him in Archer’s story only to royally screw up again. I will say he redeemed himself but I wish the story hadn’t gone where it did.

I still enjoyed the book and the growth of Travis & Haven. I think anyone who liked Archer’s Voice would appreciate this follow up! 3.5 stars

This book was fantastic. It tugged at my heartstrings and gave me everything I needed. The only reason why it’s 4 stars is because I loved Archer’s Voice more.

But seriously y’all this book was emotional, funny, cute, and sexy. I cried for a lot of this book, especially towards the end. Travis, who was an asshole in the first book, is now a lot nicer. His character development has been chef’s kiss. He meets Haven who is new in town, and her character was wonderful. She reminded me of a mix of sunshine/tornadoes. She collects and saves plants!! She’s my hero.

Every character was so wonderfully put together. I loved seeing Travis’s mindset and him trying to decide if he was going to be a bad, selfish guy or not. It was so interesting. And I absolutely loved getting the pieces of Bree and Archer’s lives together. So cute.

What a way to go back to one of your favorite authors, I can not believe this book and what it did to me emotionally. So, I will start this review by saying I took too long to read Archer's Voice and had never been madder at myself. I read Archer's Voice early this year and fell in love with it, and I loved it so much that it put me in a reading slump, so it was great to return to this world and everything surrounding it. When I realized that this was Travis's book I was worried that I wouldn't like it just because of how much we all hated Travis in the first book, but Travis made us love him in his own way. I know towards the end of Archer's Voice we got to see the real Travis and how he does have a heart and I'm happy we were able to continue this through and see him fall in love. Now, to move forward with the characters within this book, let's start with Haven our plant lady, she made me want to try to be a green thumb person but that will just never happen. Haven is running from a past and she is afraid if she stops running her past will finally catch her. Then you have Haven's brother who we all hate in the beginning for what he did to Travis, but the way he loves Haven makes us see that he can be a good guy if put in the right position to do the right thing. But not going to lie I would love to see him get his own book so we can all head back to this town and these people. But back to this book and the relationship between Travis and Haven, these two are polar opposites and yet they make their relationship work. These two made me believe that people that might not see eye to eye with certain things can still find common ground. Now for the boy we loved the hate Travis, he had such character development that changed him and it is truly shown when it comes to the town ownership, and how he throws that away to have a relationship with his brother proves just that. Overall this book brought me back out of that reading slump I have been in for so long after reading Archer's Voice, but I still can only give it 4.5 stars out of five because we still had a little miscommunication but they didn't break up because of that but that miscommunication was still there. The other rating we have to give is the spice rating, and this would have to be a 3 chili pepper out of 5 the fact that the scenes were well written but nothing overall hot and spicy, it was kind of just the right amount of spice that made you keep wanting a little more. I want to give a big thanks to Netgalley and Mia Sheridan and Bloom books for the opportunity to read this book and give it a review. But overall go read this book it is everything you need in a time like now.

After reading Archer's Voice, I kind of hated Travis. He was such a terrible person in that story. I wanted only bad things to happen to him, but not anymore.

Mia Sheridan did a fantastic job at writing Travis's redemption story in this follow up to Archer's Voice. I love that it picked up pretty much right after the epilogue of the first book and then walked us through all the ways Travis had changed. This book took me a little longer to get into than Archer's Voice, but I still read it in less than a day. It was a quick, easy read, and once it grabbed my attention, I couldn't put it down.

I loved getting to revisit old friends from Pelion while also making new ones. Haven was a great co-lead to this book, though I enjoyed that it focused more on Travis's journey than on hers, and the crew at The Yellow Trellis Inn were the perfect mix of wacky and sweet.

The only thing that I found a little strange about this storyline was that Archer never offered to share the town with Travis. It felt very out-of-character for him, especially considering he doesn't care about the money. Plus, it would have helped his and Bree's children, as well, since they have twin boys. Sharing the town amongst the families makes more sense for these characters than continuing to have it go to the oldest son. Even if the author had had Travis turn them down, it would have felt more aligned with what we know of them and the town to offer to split it with Travis.

Overall, I felt the author did a phenomenal job of redeeming Travis. I had definitely forgiven him right along with Archer and Bree and the entire town of Pelion by the end of the book. I would definitely recommend this sequel to anyone who read and enjoyed Archer's Voice.

Haven Torres is not one one to plant roots anywhere. She and her brother are on a nationwide road trip only stopping in small towns on the way long enough to make money to get to the next stop. When her brother is caught in an intimate situation with the girlfriend of the police chief, should they run again or stay firm through the chaos?

I would have given this book 5 stars up until about the 80% mark. I liked the banter between Haven and Travis but I found the interactions with Gabe to be distracting. Also there was an underlying current of miscommunication which I had hoped would dissolve as Haven and Travis fall in love but instead explodes. I liked the found family trope that is created with several side characters. I would love to hear more about Burt and Betty’s love story. Clawdia is my favorite character in the book.

This book can be read as a stand-alone but appears to be a sequel to the author’s previous book Archer’s Voice. I have had that book on my TBR pile for quite awhile but I have yet to read it. It does seem like fans of that book would have an appreciation for the characters Bree and Archer who are fairly present in this storyline.

For those who may be triggered: Childhood trauma is a strong presence in this book.

3.5 stars. this was like cute but i didn’t really care for travis’s storyline. sorry for not feeling bad for the cop brother who was shit. and i know thid whole book is about becoming and being better but i just still didn’t care.

archer’s voice was so good to me and really had some hope for this one. both travis and haven were fine characters, i just didnt feel particularly connected to either of them.

it was a sweet ending but again, just didn’t love it as much as archer’s voice.

thank you netgalley and the publisher for sending me an ARC in return for an honest reply.

I just finished reading this sequel to Archer’s Voice (which was one of my faves from last year). The steam in this was ❤️‍🔥 and I loved it. Less drama than Archer’s Voice but enough tension to love the story along. I loved seeing Archer’s family 8 years later and Travis gets a great redemption arc.

ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.

This book was previously released but had an updated version coming out. Luckily, I had already read Archer’s Voice years ago and remembered the story enough that I could connect all the characters. I would definitely recommend reading that book first, as this could be a standalone, but it’s such a great book that you won’t be disappointed! I really enjoyed that Travis got a redemption book, as I didn’t like him much in the first book and this story really lets you see his perspective. I thoroughly enjoyed it and the writing was phenomenal as always with Mia Sheridan!

I inhaled this book, dare I say I loved it as much as I did Asher and maybe even more so.

I am a sucker for characters that in previous books came across as "villainous". For me there are always two sides to a story. This book for me was a bit of a redemption story. A second chance if you will. I am a firm believer in every one makes mistakes it's how you learn and grow from those that define you.

The way in which Travis and Haven meet while definitely not promising was entertaining and the banter they exchanged had me giggling to myself. I knew immediately I wanted to see how this relationship developed.

Travis Hale had this vulnerability about him that had me wanting to wrap my arms around him, especially when we get insight into his emotions and glimpses into his past. Haven has this quirky personality and even those she did her best to distance herself, I don't think she could help being friendly towards others. She had this gravitational pull that Travis just couldn't stay away from even if he tried to and that was so evident as this story progressed.

And while there are definitely roadblocks and bumps along the way I couldn't help but love every second of it even when there were times where I physically wanted to jump into this book and shake these characters.

Fantastic story with complex characters that had you cheering for them to get their HEA.

Beautiful.
I haven’t read the first one, Archer’s voice, before getting approved to read this before release. The author does a great job making sure you can still follow the story without needing to read the first book. I am sure there is a heavier impact if the reader has journeyed with Archer first - but wow! Without reading the first one, my heartstrings were still pulled tremendously. Please do not be hesitant upon reading this if you have not read Archer’s voice.

Mia does a beautiful job creating characters that you will fall in love with, and feel absolutely awful for disliking certain characters at the beginning, because this book has amazing character development for ALL the characters, not just the main leads in which the story has POVs of (Haven and Travis). That is my main pet peeve with current romance books is the supporting characters often do not develop.

Growing up in rural small towns, and growing up lower income, Mia’s books always have a special place in my heart for the realism. I enjoyed the forced proximity, enemies to lovers, slow burn/tension between Travis and Haven! The ending comes full circle, and concludes everything, and gives supporting characters redemption, and HEAs. I found myself cheering for everyone at the end.

This book was a breath of fresh salty Maine air, praise for Mia!

When I requested Travis I didn’t know much about it other than that I had enjoyed Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan. I’m so glad I went into this one blind! It was the character redemption arc I didn’t know I needed, but am so glad I found.

Travis takes place eight years after Archer’s Voice ends. Our MC Travis Hale has been working to become a better person and leave his scheming days behind him. When Travis meets Haven she is perpetually in motion, traveling with her brother and refusing to stay in one place too long. When the two end up at the same local Inn, a connection start to blossom between them.

I thought this was a great read. The writing and dual POV flowed well. I loved that Archer and Bree were still a big part of this story and we got to see where their lives are now. I also really enjoyed the supporting band of misfits who stayed at the Inn with Travis and Haven. Every ensemble scene was so much fun! Plus, I love me a man in uniform.👮‍♂️

While this could be read as a standalone, I would recommend reading Archer’s Voice first to avoid any spoilers.

A big thank you to NetGalley, Bloom Books and Mia Sheridan for this ARC. This is my honest review.

This was the perfect redemption story for Travis! If you read Archer’s Voice you will come in leery of Travis, but know this is his redemption story and you won’t want to miss it!

I loved returning to this small town 8 years after the ending of Archer’s Voice (not counting the extended epilogue) to see how Travis had already grown, but still had some work to do.

It was truly beautiful to see how he transformed from the mindset of hate and feeling he was always in second place, to realizing that he never was in second place, except for when he put himself there.

While this is a love story, I loved it so much more for Travis’s redemption.

The love story is a slow-burn and felt very reminiscent of him finding his own Bree (Archer’s Voice).

Thank you so much to Bloom books for my ARC of this one in exchange for my honest review!

It seemed like the perfect plan, she helps Travis exact a little revenge and he'll help her land the guy she has been swooning over for the last few months... but somewhere along the way their hearts find their way into the mix and completely change everything. Now Haven's dream guy starts to take on a new shape... the shape of one handsome chief of police!

The pages of Travis hold a story that is destined to squeeze your heart and leave you smiling. Travis Hale is a man in need of a fresh start and he finds that start with an unlikely plant loving mate, Haven Torres. A woman who is also after a fresh start of her own. Her life completely fell apart, and at the time the only thing that made sense was to jump into her car and see where it took her, and it took her to Pelion, Maine. It's a place that she could see herself settling in, but with her trouble making brother up to no good she knows it's just a matter of time before they are ran out of town. Then she meets the local police chief, they strike of a friendship of sorts and strike up a deal that is supposed to give them every they want... in more ways than one.

I went into this one without knowing anything about the ongoings of Mr. Travis Hale, so there was no previous dislike or mistrust, I just got to the know the man between the pages, and I really liked him. He was a strong character with a personality to match and the woman who captured his heart was truly his perfect match. She tested his limits, made him work for her time and attention and gave as good as she got. I loved watching their story unfold and see them go round after round, they were quite the entertaining pairing! Highly recommend this one, it's words are bound to entertain and touch your heart!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

“I had lost it all. Willingly. Joyfully. While following my heart.
And because I’d lost it all, I’d gained…everything”.

We first met Travis Hale in Archer’s Voice. He was sneaky and underhanded and definitely a villain. Not someone you think is redeemable, When I first saw the book, I was skeptical, how could I learn to love this character? However, I also love Mia Sheridan and her amazing writing and I knew I had to read Travis’s story,

In Travis, Mia managed to write a character who you can forgive and completely redeems himself. He’s willing to lose it all to prove he’s changed and has become a better man, By the end of the book, you can’t help but love him and root for him to win over Haven’s heart. Haven Torres is running from her troubles. She is initially a bit of a mystery but as her story unfolds, you’re hooked, hanging on to every word to learn about her journey.

In true Mia Sheridan style, this is a story of redemption, growth and love. As a fun bonus, we get to visit with Archer and Bree from Archer’s Voice as well and see the growth in the relationship between Travis and Archer. I definitely recommend picking up this book and falling for Travis.

I want to preface this by saying I haven’t read Archers Voice yet at the time of this review, so my opinion may be swayed by the events of that book.

This book was okay. Not great, but okay. There were parts I enjoyed. I appreciated Travis’s willingness to put himself out there, but I just feel like there was no real plot. Like I just read 350ish pages of…. Nothingness. I wish there had been some more action.

I did love the shame manifesto 😂 it left me very curious about what happened to Archers voice box and I will be reading his book.

I did like the authors writing style, so I’ll be reading more of hers.

I don’t think this book is a must read.

I loved Archer’s Voice and Mia Sheridan so couldn’t wait to read Travis. I was disappointed to find that the storyline was bland and I did not find the characters particularly engaging, particularly Haven. I had a hard time finishing.

I think i loved Travis and couldn't stand Haven as she grated of my nerve. It's a story about new changes and meeting the right person.
The author is good storyteller but the story wasn't my cup of tea.
Many thanks to the publisher for this arc, all opinions are mine

Having not read Archer's Voice I started this not knowing anything about these characters and im kinda glad because I got to know Travis side of the story better that way and I have to say I get him and I love him.
This book started great and finished great but... the middle was a bit boring and messy.
I have to say although I adored Travis, our heroine Haven... I wasn't a fan of her. Also their romance, I feel was underdeveloped or lacking more chemistry for me to truly cheer for them.
Still I enjoyed the redemption arc story and Travis' growth by the end even with the things i didnt enjoyed so, I'm very happy to finally read this book.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
