A cute YA novel that’s easy to read and easy to enjoy.
Schaffir’s novel centres around 17-year-old Scarlett, a high school junior with a keen interest in fashion and fashion design. Together with best friend Macie, she navigates the bumps and drama of her junior year.
The story begins with a meet cute between Scarlett and the story’s male lead, Nathaniel, a theatre-loving senior. Their relationship develops over the course of the novel, with its ups and downs and the occasional drama. There’s the classic high school mean girl (Tina) who likes to stir up trouble as well.
The book also does touch on serious topics such as sexual assault, but does so in a not overly dramatic way that doesn’t detract from the story.
A few bits of the book did feel a little over the top for me (in terms of how the characters reacted), but then again it’s been a few years since I was in high school and I was probably the same!
Overall it was a good read that was easy to get through. Definitely the kind of story that sounds like it might have a sequel.

thank you to NetGalley and Alison Schaffir for an arc in exchange for an honest review!
this was really cute! being in high school myself this really resonated with me, so i loved the realistic aspect the story had because of that! Scarlett and Nathaniel were adorable, and their chemistry and relationship was amazing. Nathaniel is book boyfriend GOALS. the ending was bittersweet, but was again relatable to me so i thoroughly felt the emotion in the scene. overall 4.5/5⭐️

Book Review-Your Dream For Me by Alison Schaffir
Thank you @netgalley for allowing me to read this early copy!
This was a cute Young Adult book that comes out March 7, 2023 and if you like cute YA you will enjoy this one!
Scarlett has vision's of being a fashion designer and her parents are very theatrical, but she has never shown any idea of wanting to be involved. Her bestie, Macie is in theater though and when Scarlett goes to support her, she meet handsome, Nathaniel. Nathaniel encourages her to get with the drama teacher and join theater so she can work on costumes.
She makes a dress for Macie and everyone realizes her talents.
This has the mean girl, the teen angst, and the cute love story.
Quick, fun, easy read!

What a beautiful coming of age story about a 17 year old girl named Scarlett who is into fashion designing. This story really tugged at my heartstrings as we see her navigate high school, having a part time job, joining the school musical as an usher all while designing and sewing clothing and navigating her friendship with Macie and a burgeoning romance with Nathaniel, the star of the musical.
I will say the storyline with Macie and Ashton was very upsetting to read and to see how Tina took advantage of that was really sickening, but I loved Scarlett for doing what was right, even in the face of adversity.
I even loved the ending, as bittersweet as it was, because it really showcases the growth that Scarlett and Nathaniel went through and it all also shows a very real high school relationship that means a lot, but not necessarily everything.
Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC for a review.

So much to like about this novel! It is 3.5 stars for me and thanks to #NetGalley for the eARC.
The first scene in the costume room has such a magical quality and was the perfect start. Scarlett and Nathaniel are well written characters. I like Scar's friendship with Marcie too.
Unfortunately I think a couple of things detracted and stopped me from rating it higher. Firstly, at times the narrative seemed to keep reaching for the next event to push the plot along instead of seamlessly transitioning there. The start of chapter 6 (before Winter Formal) is one such example where it takes a while to get moving to the next plot point. Some of the dialogue between Marcie and Scarlett could have been reduced and some more heightened and detailed interactions with Nathaniel could have been added to keep that tension going. Lastly I think Tina‘ s explanations at the end were forced and didn't ring true in the timeframe given. If those were tightened up I would give this book an extra star.
What redeemed it was the ending, I loved how that was written, how believable and beautiful it was instead of some fairytale ending. I always want the title of a text to resonate for me and in those final pages this one really did.

This is a warm-hearted story about being able to live in the moment. FMC Scarlett is a loyal friend, a reliable employee, a respectful daughter and a studious high school junior. She's so focused on getting good grades and applying to her dream school, the Fashion Institute of Technology, that she seems to miss the forest for the trees when it comes to the other parts of life that make a person whole like hobbies and relationships. When her bestie Macie encourages Scarlett to get out of her shell a little more, she meets the handsome , new-to-town senior Nathaniel.
The story moves along at a nice pace, using the familiar high school social events to mark the different seasons - a Winter Formal, the prom, and graduation-related activities. We see Scarlett deal with friend strife with Macie, explore the possibilities of a relationship with Nathaniel, and learn a bit more about herself along the way. She is eminently likable and readers will find themselves rooting for her throughout the book. The HEA for Scarlett and Nathaniel is probably not exactly what you might have in mind, but it's just right for these two and where they are in life.

Thank you to Level Best Books for an ARC in exchange for an honest review of ‘YOUR DREAM OF ME’.
While somewhat predictable at times, Alison Schaffir’s combination of a love for writing, fashion, and theatre shines through brightly in this debut story. I was incredibly excited to read this story from the moment I heard the description because of my own personal connections with theatre and fashion — while I’ve never been good at either, I love watching both. Scarlett is an incredibly dynamic main character, and each one of her relationships with other characters shines brightly. Her relationship with Nathaniel is beautiful, and it’s easy to see how much he absolutely adores her. Her friendship with Macie shined brightest as the best part of the book for me, with the way that both girls absolutely treasure one another and their connection first and foremost. Scarlett’s support for Macie is unwavering, and the support between the two of them is incredibly important to see. I definitely recommend adding this story to your 2023 TBR’s, ‘YOUR DREAM FOR ME’ releases March 7, 2023.

A cute YA novel.
Focuses on personal growth, self worth, first relationships, and career dreams.
I was proud of how Scarlett protected Macie.
The attraction between Scarlett and Nathaniel was adorable to see developing.

Thank you netgalley for providing me with an arc in exchange for an honest review. I hadn’t read any works previously by this author before, so I didn’t know what to expect. While it wasn’t perfect, it was a very enjoyable read that had all of the great elements of a romance book. Taking all of this into consideration, it was an enjoyable romance book that I would definitely recommend, so I am giving it 4/5 stars.

Thank you very much for the opportunity to read/review/promote this book. I love fashion and studied it so this was a definite must have fir our location. I hope it inspires many young creators and those looking to join the industry. Will be sharing more soon.
Seventeen-year-old Scarlett, unlike her theatrically gifted parents, is not one to spend time near a spotlight. Scarlett dreams of becoming a renowned fashion designer, where she can flex her creative talents away from a crowd. So it's no surprise when she sneaks into her school's costume shop to explore the racks. Unexpected, however, is coming face-to-face with Nathaniel Wilder, a talented theater student who piques a new interest.
With fashion still as her main priority, Scarlett vows to learn how to make a 50s-inspired dress for her best friend, Macie. After all, she needs a strong portfolio of work to help her get into her dream school, the Fashion Institute of Technology. The one problem? She has no idea how to operate a sewing machine. Thanks to Nathaniel's encouragement, Scarlett decides to shadow the school's drama teacher to practice her skills, hoping to fuse her passion for fashion with theater...and be closer to him for the spring play.
Scarlett's designs are unfolding, but a distressing event involving Macie shakes everyone in Scarlett's world—causing their friendship to falter and Nathaniel to unexpectedly pull away. With building stressors threatening the rest of the year, including a rival who wants to tarnish Scarlett's reputation, Scarlett must rely on her determined spirit and
