Initially, the book held my attention with its suspenseful plot, but as the story progressed, the pace felt rushed and confusing. The narrative frequently shifted between past memories and present events, making it challenging to discern the timeline.

The quality of writing was mediocre at best, and while the characters had potential, their development was lacking. Additionally, while the book had a Christian theme, the excessive use of Biblical references felt tasteless and could have been handled more effectively for a greater impact.

However, the resolution of the suspense with the revelation of the shooter was the only redeeming aspect of the book, with a twist that I thoroughly enjoyed.

DESTINED TO BE by Dionne Grace.
Sweet Romantic Suspense (Short Story).
Daisia Findlay has a crush on her boss, though she’s never had the courage to tell him. Not that Blake would be interested; his type of women were ones who looked nothing like her. Daisia doesn’t dare hope that she will be the one he will fall in love with.
A good read. I liked Blake and Daisias story. 4*.

I started it with a thought that it would become closer to me but it was nowhere there. Why such a plot chosen?, was completely tiresome to read. There could be many ways to show how two people can be 'destined to be' but why so much unnecessary gunshots and killings? So much irrelevant and unrequited content.

However, Daisie and Blake were clean in romance all through which I liked the most. This seems more to me like a cheap retelling of 'Fifty Shades of Grey". Upsetting for me.

I was not going to give feedback on this title but I decided to write something. To be honest i dind't finish reading the book. I don't think it was because of the story or the writing of Dionne Grace but more my inability to connect with the story and the caracteres. I do appreciate the opportunity to read this book and I'm story I could not give a more detailed review.

Fall in love with the boss story with work place violence. That part is a good story. There was too much preachy interspersed for my taste.

This was a pretty good short story. The storyline centers on Daisias, who is running for her life from a shooter who is randomly shooting people in her office building when the story opens. The plot seemed to drag at times, and character development could have been improved.

The author definitely didn't have time to fully develop anything since the story is only a few pages long. But I thought the conclusion was a little hurried and forced.

But it was a quick read that I found to be enjoyable enough.

Destined to Be is a short novella written by Dionne Grace.

Summary: When a shocking and tragic event occurs at the office, Daisia Findlay finds herself fighting for survival alongside her boss/crush Blake.

Will the crisis finally bring them together, or tear them apart for good?

My Thoughts: This book is a little intense, but I definitely enjoyed the romance and storyline.

The ending felt rushed, and I was left feeling a little disappointed because I REALLY didn’t want the story to end and felt it definitely could have been longer.

Overall though, it is well-written quick read that I enjoyed very much.

I would like to thank BooksGoSocial for providing me with a free digital copy of this book in exchange for my review. Thank you!

This was a short, romantic story. Blake and Daisha declare their love for each other while hiding from a gunman in their office building. Will they escape the gunman? Will they become his victims? Find out by reading this engaging mystery. It not only is heartwarming, but it offers spiritual advice to people who find themselves in desperate situations. I highly recommend this book to other romance readers. I received an ARC of this book from Net Galley, and the opinion expressed is strictly my own.

Daisia works for Blake at the firm and secretly has a crush on him. When their office is in the middle of a horrific situation, they find themselves thrown together.

The short story is a powerful one packed with God's love and the character's faith to trust HIM. The characters are well-developed and show great courage in spite of their flaws. The story wrapped up everything nicely in the end. An inspirational romantic read.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and voluntarily choose to review it. All opinions are my own.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and authors for allowing me to read this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This was a short and sweet story! I love how the author includes faith, love, and trust for God through the unfortunate turn of events! She includes lots of scripture too! A sweet, unsuspecting romance!

My Rating: 3 out of 5 stars.

Received for review: I received a copy of this novel from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion. I was not obligated to write a good review, nor did I receive any compensation for writing this review.

My Overall Thoughts/Impressions: I went into this one with few expectations. I hadn't heard of the author and knew little about the book. But I do enjoy the genre, and so I decided to give it a go. I thought trying a short story would be a great way to decide what I thought of the author.

The actual quality of the writing (like the prose) was good. I enjoyed her writing style. She is clearly a good writer.

I like the characters. It's a quick short story, so she obviously didn't have time to develop everything. However, the ending felt a bit rushed and forced to me. I didn't always love how the flashbacks developed.

The book begins with us realizing there is a workplace shooter. (TW: violence, death, active shooter). And then we get a lot of flashbacks, then brought back to the present, and back to flashbacks. I thought she did a good job navigating the timelines. Again, a mechanically skilled writer. However, I felt some of the flashbacks didn't jive with the present situation. It also was a bit light on suspense.

However, it was an enjoyable enough quick read.

So why 3 stars? Great writing skills, but the plot didn't quite mesh together for me.

Love,

Danica Page

The book started out quite well. I was intrigued by the suspense surrounding the plot. It went on quite well until at one point the storyline felt rushed and muddled.
I wasn't a fan of the writing either, which was mediocre at best.
The characters were interesting, but the character development could have been better.
While I get that it was a Christian book, I found the Christian and Biblical references to be excessive and not in good taste. It could have been dealt with in a much more tasteful manner, which, in my opinion, would have been more impactful.
The only saving grace of the book, in my opinion, was the resolution of the suspense: when they found out who the shooter was. I loved the twist, and the circumstances surrounding the revelation.

This very short story was packed full, maybe too full. There was back and forth between past ( memories ) and present - it wasn't always obvious when this was happening. The main character ( Daisia ) talked to God a lot and quoted scripture.

Being such a short story, the romance moved from a glance to in love very quickly ( too quickly? ). There was a bit of a twist part way through. The ending was what you want with a romance book.

It is interesting story, first time read something like this. Revenge with gun, it like reading Daisia life flash before her eye. Love to her family, crush to her boss, reget not doing thing she want to do.
