I'm not really sure how I feel about this book. I'm sure it would be helpful for some people. Kim spoke from personal experience and included many personal stories. One thing that bothered me was the use of "we." It supposed that everyone had the same experience of abuse. I prefer books like this to come from a place more centered on the author's experience. That way the author is not projecting their own experiences on the reader. The other bit that bothered me was the emphasis of God. Some bits also felt as if the author was saying that God had her experience abuse for a reason. I know that that is a harmful thought for some people. I'm also unsure if Kim actually has the qualifications to be writing a self-help book about abuse. I think this book would have come across better as a memoir instead.

No Longer Denying Sexual Abuse; Making the Choices That Can Change Your Life by Kim O'Hara was a hard book to read but an important one for fellow survivors. I was truly thankful to have gotten to read this before most people! I would like to purchase this one for my physical library!

Kim O'Hara writes bravely, as well as with compassion and honesty. I will be revisiting the content of this book for some time to come, and highly recommend this for others to read, as well. This is a book of healing and hope, well-written and full of helpful insights.
