Thank you NetGalley for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This book kept me interested the whole time, and I actually finished it in one day because I wanted to see how it ended. I would definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a fast paced and well written book.

This was a really well done mystery novel, I enjoyed the twists of the story. It was a great mystery novel and I enjoyed the plot going on. The characters were what I was looking for and they worked in this universe. Shalini Boland has a great writing style and I'm excited to read more from Shalini Boland.

"My mind isn’t exactly the most reliable at the moment. Not after everything that’s happened with Seth. I attempt to shrug off my momentary fears. I have enough to worry about without imagining unwelcome ghosts from my past."

I don't have adequate words to express what an immersive, captivating read this was! The story started with the point of view of an unknown character then quickly took shape around Alice and Seth, who are due to be married after a whirlwind courtship. There are a few red flags, notably that Seth hasn't met any of Alice's family or her friends. Whenever an event is planned, he inevitably has to work late.

But the punch in the throat came on their wedding day. Alice is being led down the aisle by her father, and she's understandably excited and nervous, but when she lays eyes on her husband-to-be, she can't believe what she's seeing. The beaming groom is NOT Seth.

Wait, what? Of course it is. Everyone says so. N0 one can figure out what's wrong with Alice and why she abruptly leaves her own wedding, but Alice doesn't know the stranger she left at the alter.
What follows is a mystery so complex and so layered that I felt utterly paranoid while reading. That final twist at the end was perfectly executed. This is my favorite book by this author thus far! Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer/Amazon Publishing for this thrilling early read that will publish May 1, 2023.

4.5 stars! WOWZER!! This was such a fab read! I had no idea of the story when I started reading,, but Shalini Boland is an auto buy author for me so there was no question that I would read her newest book. It starts with a bang, and keeps you engaged throughout! I went through so many scenarios in my head, thinking this is the reason why or that is the reason behind the mystery, but boy was I wrong, and I loved it! The last 2 chapters were very fitting and a great ending to a great read!

Wow! Shalini Boland just rocks!! What a fresh new thriller. The characters were awesome. This book hooked me from age one and didn’t let go until the final crazy end. Such tension! Loved the twists, turns and reveals. The punches just kept on coming.

Literally went in blind - no book cover and premise! Main character Alice has wonderful news to share with her roommate and friends, her boyfriend Seth has proposed. Things take a turn on their wedding day, as Alice walks down the aisle she doesn’t recognize Seth. Who is this person impersonating Seth, where is her fiancé? This is crazy! This is a slow burn mystery with a few twists.
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for a copy.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It started a little slow for me but quickly started moving along. It’s one of the few books with an ending I didn’t see coming. This was a great book with so many unforeseeable twists. I highly recommend it!
