Whoa. This book was nuts! I felt like the ending had 4 epilogues. It ended exactly how I wanted it to. Will there be a part 2? I’m down with that. It sucks you in right from the start. I knew Shalini Boland would do it again which is why I read without reading the sypnosis. Quick read, go get it!

Shalini Boland never disappoints. A fast paced thrill ride. The Percy day her wedding day and Alice gets to the altar and it’s just crazy from her on. I literally devoured this book. Just when you think you have it figured out it’s nothing like you thought

As soon as I read the description for this book, I could hardly contain myself and have been dying to read it! When I started reading of Alice turning up at the church all loved up, looking forward to her special day only for her not to recognize her husband to be when she sees him standing at the altar, my mind was going into overdrive as to what on earth could have possibly occurred for this to happen.

Shalini is an author who enjoys messing with her readers minds. I always try and think outside of the box to see if I can guess the twists before they happen. Hands down the author plays an absolute blinder in hoodwinking me throughout this novel! I felt myself going a little crazy and turning the pages in a frenzy to try and make sense of what had happened.

With alternating chapters that flick between present day and the run up to Alice and Seth’s wedding, it has the suspense mounting of which my pulse picked up along with it so that it was literally racing by the end. When it comes to the men in Alice’s life, it had me questioning everyone’s intentions. In fact towards the end my head was in such a spin as I was second guessing everyone in Alice’s life trying to pick out the culprit as I was still none the wiser!

The Silent Bride was a story packed full of suspense and intrigue that had me on the edge of my seat. A real brain twister that will put your mind through the wringer leaving you in shock at the totally unexpected twists. Shalini Boland is an author who never fails to take my breath away with her wickedly twisted and tensely plotted stories. I always feel like I have just stepped off a roller coaster ride when I have finished one of her books as they leave me feeling so exhilarated. A psychological thriller that has you gasping for air!

Unpredictable Suspense..
Nothing is as it seems in this edgy and unexpected psychological suspense. Alice and Seth are the perfect couple - aren’t they? They certainly seem to be and as the day of the wedding approaches all seems well. Until Alice reaches the alter that is. After that, everything changes. With a credible and convincing cast of characters and an enigmatic plotline peppered with twists and turns this is an immersive and unpredictable read.

When I started reading this book, I thought this story was odd, and not in a bad way. I could not understand how this could have happened, unless there was mental illness, amnesia or acting involved. It did not seem like there had been an accident or an event where the protagonist had lost her memory. This was a fascinating story, super engaging and entertaining. Fabulous!

Read this in 1 day! Couldn’t put it down. I truly don’t understand the tittle of the book. I don’t think it has anything to do with the story line at all. The twist was great. I had so many theories and none of them were right. This is a great popcorn thriller if you’re looking for a quick, easy read.

An enjoyable read. I liked the plot twists throughout the book, and thought the ending was done well. The past and present built up the mystery nicely and I confess I wasn;t sure what to make of Alice's memory difficulties. Would reccommend.

Firstly I finished the book. I spent most of it wondering how Alice's memory would just fail for three people. I don’t want to give too much away but for me then ending was unbelievable and unrealistic. Yes I know it’s a novel but still….. This is the only one of Shalini's books that I haven't enjoyed as much as the others. It was readable and I had no problem finishing it I just like my stories to be believable!

Thank you for the advance copy

The Silent Bride is an absolute nail-biter. It starts with an interesting premise of not recognizing the groom at the end of the aisle and delivers twists and turns to the end. I enjoyed it because of 1) the writing style; 2) the way the author ends each chapter in a suspenseful manner; 3) the side characters and side stories present many plausible explanations, and 4) the ending. Thanks for the advance review copy. I love Shalini Boland's books and this one didn't disappoint.

A deftly handled domestic psychological thriller - Alice and Seth have had a whirlwind romance and are getting married after just a year together, but as she walks down the aisle to the man of her dreams, she doesnt recognise who is standing there. Seth is a stranger to her, as are his parents. She calls a halt to the wedding, desperate to find out what has happened to the man she loved and who is the stranger in his place?
There are also diary extracts from someone plotting to bring down Alice and Seth's wedding- who is it, what do they want and why?

Its a short book which I appreciated, Im not a fan of a long rambling plot! And the plot twists kept coming page after page. The length of the book meant that some characters could have been more fleshed out perhaps, there was a lot that could have been explored more- why was Charlotte the way she was? And the relationship between Alice and her sister was worth delving into a bit more

I have wavered between 3 & 4 stars for this, but on reflection, its closer to a 3.4 than a 3.7 - so 3 stars it is

This book is written rather weakly. The plot is ridiculously far-fetched. The characters lack depth. And there is a lot of irrelevant detail- such as: what everyone is wearing and what car Elizabeth drives. It isn’t for me- sorry.

If you are a Boland fan you will know that you can expect a twisty psychological thriller with realistic characters when you reach for one of her books. This was my fifth book by Shalini Boland and this is my favourite so far. If you haven’t read any of this author’s work, you are in for a treat when you add her to your TBR.

The author reached out with a NetGalley ARC copy of this book and wow what a brilliant read – thank you for this review copy.

The Silent Bride tells the story of a bride walking down the aisle on her wedding day, excited by her big day and eager to start her new life. When she looks up and sees her groom, she does not recognise him. No matter what anyone else may say, she is convinced that he is not the man she was planning to marry….

Can you imagine?

Shalini Boland’s characters are brilliant. She creates realistic, relatable people who you find yourself identifying with. Then she adds a situation that is beyond imagination and ties it all together with a fantastic twist at the end. The Silent Bride is exactly that.

Alice has not had a lot of success with relationships. When she meets Seth, that all changes – he is the perfect boyfriend and when after only a year of dating he proposes she is a hundred percent sure that he is the man she wants to spend the rest of her life with. Walking down the aisle, Alice cannot wait to start her life with Seth – she knows it will be perfect. Until she looks up to face her groom and finds that she does not recognise the man waiting for her at the altar.

Panicked she runs from the church, confused that no-one else sees the problem. This new “Seth” unsettles her and she cannot stand to be in the same room with him. Desperate to understand what is happening she is forced to lean on her friends and family until she can find out what is happening.

I raced through this book in two days (while working full day) I could not read fast enough. This is a gripping story full of surprises as you jump between then and now, trying to understand what is happening to Alice. The constant confusion this woman faces keeps you flicking the pages. I loved it.

The characters are all realistic and relatable. There is a nice mixture of personalities and you are sure to find someone in this story you will love. Alice is a brilliant creation. This young woman seems to go from one disastrous relationship to the next. I enjoy her drive to understand what was happening and her courage to stand up for herself when it mattered most.

This is a book that has cemented its place on my top ten for the year already. I loved this book and will most likely pick this one as my book of the month.

If you enjoy a twisty psychological thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat as you race towards the last page, then you will not go wrong in reaching for this book. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It is a fabulous read and without a doubt my favourite Shalini Boland book so far. Go ahead, and add this one to your TBR you will not be disappointed.

Shalini Boland has proven herself to be an outstanding storyteller who masterfully creates suspense and drama in all of her novels. Her latest release The Silent Bride does not disappoint, with its unexpected twists and turns that will have you questioning who and what to believe until the very end.

Alice is engaged to marry Seth, a charming doctor with a busy schedule that has kept him from getting to know her family and friends before the wedding. As Alice starts to walk down the aisle, she is shocked to find that the groom waiting for her is not recognizable. So why does everyone at the wedding insist that he is indeed Seth and that she is having some sort of mental breakdown? Alice calls off the wedding and embarks on a quest to figure out who the real Seth is... and who is responsible for wreaking havoc on her life.

Thoroughly enjoyable and engaging thriller from Shalini Boland. Alice is engaged to the perfect man and the first time all her friends and family will meet him is on their wedding day. There’s just one problem - it’s a perfect stranger waiting for her at the altar.

Complex and hard to believe story with lots of twists. Couldn't really get in to this book ,the characters were multi layered and difficult to empathise with .

When Alice walks down the aisle, she is excited at the prospect of spending the rest of her life with Seth, but when he turns to face her, she finds a stranger standing where her fiancé should be. Supported by her best friends, she tries to find out what has happened to her Seth, ad why everyone is trying to convince her she is wrong.
This is an excellent book, which I devoured in a few days. I have read most of Shalini’s books and I think this is her best one yet. Highly recommended.
