The book is written amazingly well. The characters are three-dimensional. The plot was engaging with many twists. A real page-turner. It was the first book by the author, which I read thanks to NetGalley, but not the last one.

Thank you to NetGalley and amazon publishing UK for this ARC! This is my second read by this author and I throughly enjoy her thrillers. The Silent Bride was a fast paced and intriguing story. I liked how Boland wrote this amnesia trope and it was done very well. Definitely didn’t see the twist coming!

When the wedding of your dreams becomes a nightmare…..Alice is rather excited. She is marrying Seth, a doctor and he is moving to her home town once they are married. Her friends haven't met him yet as when they arrange a night out inevitably his work gets in the way and him travelling from his current location is a distance. At the wedding half way down the aisle Alice comes to a halt. The groom isn't Seth and his parents are also imposters. What on earth is going on? This is written in the first person from Alice’s point of view and alternate chapters are before the wedding giving a now and then. There is also the odd one by someone else to give the reader a hint of what is going on. I won’t say any more!

OMG! I raced through this. As with all Shalini’s books there is a wonderful air of tension and I couldn't help but like Alice. She knew something was wrong but nothing would prove it however she tried. There's a wonderful camaraderie of her friends being supportive doing what they can to see her through this. A fantastic premise that had me reeling and even picturing if it happened- how on earth would you prove it? A cleverly thought out plot which most definitely kept the pages turning ever faster. A stunning, reeling read.

My Review:
Loved!!!!! I was hooked and very intrigued from the very first chapter. It really started off with a major bang. I was like what!!!!! I went into this book totally blind and not knowing what it was even about. There was no cover or even a blurb for me to go by. I wasn’t worried though because I knew this author would never disappoint. Shalini Boland is one of my favorite authors and I knew in my heart I was going to love whatever she wrote. Who needs a stinking blurb anyway. As of today there is now a cover and description for this wonderful book. So I want to start off by saying that this book totally blew me away. It had a story line that kept me very interested the whole time. It’s like I had to find out what was going on and what was going to happen next otherwise I wouldn’t be able to do anything in my real life. So I made sure I read this one as quick as possible and put everything else to the side until I finished. Oh and don’t get me started on the characters. The whole book I was looking for any kind of clues on who was lying and who was telling the truth. I couldn’t tell you for the life of me. Now on to that jaw dropping ending I never saw coming. Wow, just wow. It left me shocked and speechless. I have to say Shalini Boland really outdid herself with this one. I can honestly say that this was one of my favorites written by her. I can’t wait to finish up the rest of her books and then I will be waiting patiently for her to write more. Well maybe not patiently but I will do the best I can.

In conclusion, the plot, the characters and all the twists in this book made this book an enjoyable read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I am a big fan of Shalini Boland and was so excited to read this book. Unfortunately it wasn't for me. The plot was very slow moving & very unlikely. I felt that it took too long to really get going & the ending was rushed & also not very credible. The main character was a bit annoying too & rushed into decisions Unfortunately I didn't like this book as much as her previous brilliant books.

I was pleasantly surprised as I requested this book only knowing the title and author. The premise was not my cup of tea, but I was very happy with the writing style.

Shalini Boland never disappoints! This book was a wild ride. I didn't love any of the characters but I think that was part of the mystery. I literally doubted every single person Alice came in contact with! Despite that, the ending was not one I saw coming at all. Read this in one day because I couldn't put it down!

Wow! What a book!
I’ve loved all of Shalini Boland’s books, but this is by far her best yet.
I devoured it in less than 48 hours. It’s rare that I find a book where I don’t work out the ending, however this kept me guessing right to the end.
There’s plenty of twists and a fabulous ending. It’s the perfect psychological thriller and more than worthy of 5 stars.

This book was suggested by a moderator from Freida's group and it really live up to it. This is my first from Shalini Boland, and definitely not the last! Really unputdownable from the first part but I have to work so took me days to devour and finnish.

Thank you Netgalley, for the opportunity to devour and review this well written craft of Ms. Boland. I'm looking forward to review her future books with excitement.

Once again another wonderful book from Shalini Boland, another of my favourite authors who never seems to let me down. I have read every one of this authors books and now I do not even look at the blurb, I just dive straight in.

Alice is marrying Seth, she is madly in love and ready to spend her life with this wonderful man, The tale begins at the wedding ceremony between Seth and Alice but as Alice approaches the alter she is in utter shock, who is the man waiting for her, she has never seen him before in her life? This sets the scene for a very enjoyable read.

I am not going to say anymore regarding the plot, I really believe this is one of those books that the less you know before you start the better. A great story that moves quite fast, keeping your interest all the way through. Lots of wonderful characters and I love the strong theme of friendship in the book, it is always good to know people have your back when times are challenging.

I highly recommend this book to all and if you have not read any of this authors books you really are missing out. A big thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of the book in exchange for an honest, unbiased review. 4 stars

Alice is about to marry Seth a man she loves except as she walks down the isle towards him she diesel recognize him as her Seth. This man is a stranger standing in the place Seth should be standing. She stands in stunned silence unsure what to do as her father begins to question her behavior. Her friends and family think she’s having a mental breakdown. Alice is convinced this man isn’t Seth and sets out to prove it to herself.
On one hand, you can believe in Alice that this man is a stranger. Or on the other hand you can believe what everyone believes that Alice is having a breakdown. As readers venture further into Alice’s character Shalini will paint a picture full of doubt and uncertainty. There’s much at play in this book. Shalini Boland crafted a pretty decent account of events. At the same time it doesn’t command my attention. If I had something concrete to hold on to it would make it easier to pick a side.
Shalini Boland has been my one-click authors. I favor most all of her books. Anytime she has a new release I’m eager to get my hands on it. Even without a cover design and a vague premise I still had to read this book. I admit I’m struggling a little bit to stay invested. It’s definitely a slow moving story with theory after theory. Don’t get me wrong I love how thought provoking and challenging it is to figure out the truth. At the same time I need something to lean me in the right direction. I’m all for shocking revelations and surprise twists, but when everything unfolds at the end it’s a little disconcerting to read. I need a steady pace of activity which this book doesn’t provide. If your looking for a read with theories and questionable situations with a slow burn than this is the book for you.

Well it was a crazy wild ride in the end. I was off track so many times, yet knew something was off. While I appreciated the ending by providing closure about Alice’s situation with Seth I’m not entirely convinced on the execution of events leading up to the end.
I felt like I didn’t know Alice’s character except for the way the other characters reacted around her. Not to mention by the time the reader is introduced to Alice she’s walking down the isle to get married. At this point the reader only knows what’s she’s experienced from this point going forward.
Shalini Boland will always remain my go to psychological thriller authors. This one book won’t reflect poorly on my further interest in her books. I can tell she put a great amount of effort into writing this book. I’m disappointed it wasn’t the ideal read for me.

This book is a real attention grabber!
The Silent Bride is walking down the aisle with her father. It's the day she always dreamed of - the wedding she always wanted....EXCEPT waiting at the altar is someone else - not her husband to be! Follow Alice via flashbacks as she met her husband to be and do your best to guess what happened next! If you like a domestic mystery, a thrilling thriller or just love a wedding-gone-wrong, The Silent Bride is for you!

I’m not sure if the publishing company did it on purpose but the release to netgalley for this book was done with perfection.

No cover, no synopsis, just a title and an author.

If you love mysteries as much as I do, you know this made my eyes light up my and my insides squeal .

I had 5 other books I had prioritized for this month but knowing I had this one sitting on the shelf was killing me. I had to know what was inside.

Was it going to be a story about revenge? Murder? Betrayal? Lies? Deceit?

Who knew? I sure didn’t

Going into this blind was probably the best way to do it. You know when someone says “I had the wind knocked out of me” ? That’s what this book felt like. When you don’t know what you are even reading about, the build up and anticipation has you holding your breath so when the twists start coming in it’s as if someone is punching you in the gut and quite literally “knocking the wind out of you”. Every surprise came out of no where. I never knew what to expect so every chapter was read cautiously .

I read this book in just a few hours on a lazy Sunday. I know it’s early to be saying this but I have a feeling this book is going to be amongst my favorites this year.

5 stars

I had no idea Shalini even had a new book coming out and i happened to see this. Grabbed it right away! Def wasn't sure to think as there was no cover and no description, but since her books are amazing, I knew I would enjoy it. So the entire book, I was going back and forth to who was the culprit. I got about 3/4 and started thinking it was super predictable. Boy was I wrong!! another great book full of suspense!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Read if you like:
- SHALINI ❤️❤️
- short chapters
- dual timelines
- dual POV
- twisty thrillers
- domestic drama

The story starts with Alice marrying Seth, who she doesn’t recognize as she’s walking down the aisle, but everyone else seems to know who this stranger is. She stops the wedding to figure out what the heck is going on. Her doctor says she may be “face-blind” in that she cannot recognize faces, but why would Seth and his parents be the only faces she can’t recognize?? All her pictures with her Seth have been mysteriously deleted from her phone!! There has to be something else going on here. There has to be someone in her life that wants everything to think Alice is going crazy…..

I absolutely love Shalini Boland and all her books, and this one was absolutely no different. She is the queen of the twisty, jaw-dropping thrillers! She is definitely an instant auto-buy author for me 💕💕
I really love dual timelines so I can get 2 parts of the story at once, but what I love EVEN MORE is how this author distinguished between the two timelines, and kept it very clear which time you are currently reading ❤️❤️ Not enough authors make it clear when they switch back and forth between time periods/characters, and it usually just frustrates me more than it entertains me to be honest.
This story is also dual POV!! In that we get just a liiiiiiittle bit from the side of the “bad guy”. It continues to set the scene for an impending dramatic event, but you never know when it’s comingggg……
I was very confused where this book was going the majority of the time. I was constantly questioning what was going on and making up solutions in my head… it was a very, very enjoyable read!
The end twist was a little crazy, but I have to admit I have never seen that twist done before 🤪 I definitely didn’t see it coming!

As you would expect from such a fabulous author a psychological thriller with a roller coaster of a plot ! Read and enjoy !

I read The Silent Bride by Shalini Boland in one day! I did not know what the story was about as I received an advance copy that did not include a cover or synopsis of the story. The story hooked me right from the start. We are introduced to Alice on her wedding day. But as she is walking down the aisle, her groom turns around, and Alice does not know who he is. The story takes off from that point and just keeps going.

It got a little tedious during the middle of the book, and I felt some scenes were unnecessary. I don't want to give the ending away, but the ending was pretty amazing, which saved the book and my rating.

I give The Silent Bride a 4 out of 5 stars. I would recommend this book and this author. The stories the author can craft do not disappoint.
