Crystal and Derek were quick to admit their mutual attraction, exchanging flirty banter and meaningful glances early on in the story. Derek's situation surprised me; despite still being caught up with the memory of his late wife and feeling guilty about moving on, he found himself drawn to Crystal. While Vanessa lingered in his thoughts, it seemed that Crystal occupied more of his mind lately. Their connection progressed rapidly, considering Derek's recent history. The narrative flowed smoothly, alternating between Crystal's and Derek's perspectives, which I found enjoyable. However, there were moments of repetition, especially when Derek and Crystal hit rough patches due to miscommunication, leading to days of silence between them.

The characters were lacking and it was hard to read about them and their pathetic live. There were many strange things that happened in this book and it was very hard to read.

Didn't have time to read it and just realized that I didn't write a review. I'll give it three stars for now... I'll try to do it sometime and then give my actual rating when I do it.

This was requested when I first found out about NetGalley and I had requested so many ARCs that I could not get to all of them before they were archived. I really wanted to get to this one, as it seemed interesting. If I can find this somewhere for a reasonable price, I will try to get it! I am giving this book three stars, as I don't want to give it a good or bad rating, since I did not get to it and we have to leave a star rating.

Thank you to net galley for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review! I really enjoyed this book. A wonderfully sweet slow burn small town romance.

I was bored, characters were irritating, and chapters were disjointed and clunky. I had hight hopes but was disappointed.

I love a good small town romance and this was it! The chemistry between the characters was there and very evident while reading the story. Defiantly a slow burn romance with very little spice involved!

This follows Crystal and Derek. Crystal’s mom died and she’s now in charge of her house, back in her small hometown. With the thought to fix it up and sell it to make a profit, Crystal hires Derek. Derek is a widow, which also left him a single father to a now college student. He accepts the job, now running his father’s business, and helps flip her home. Crystal is divorced and her son is like 8, so he stays with his dad while Crystal is out of town helping with the renovations as much as possible. So we see small town, forced proximity kinda???, single dad, divorced mom, etc.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I absolutely loved the short chapters that this had. It alternated between the different point of views and I felt like it made it easy to breeze through. Which, it started out pretty strong, but once our main characters meet… the interactions were kind cringe and gave me major secondhand embarrassment

Throughout the book, I think the dialogue and descriptions were a bit choppy. And it kinda felt rushed, but over a really long period. I think that was done that way to avoid the insta-love trope, which I appreciated because it’s not one of my favorites. BUT, it still kinda falls into instant categories because they both seem to have such a “pull to one another”.

Truly, a lot of it made me “whaaaaat?” I just didn’t fully click with this one, which makes me sad because I absolutely love small town romances.

I adore small town romance, so I was thrilled when I received a copy of this. This was a slow burn, but I didn’t mind (which is saying a lot because I don’t enjoy slow burns) because it held my attention until the end.

I was intrigued to Farm Cove Bliss due to the stunning cover, and enjoy a novel with short chapters. Unfortunately, I wish there was more of a story and character development. Thank you to NetGalley for the copy.

2.75 stars

I felt like this book has a lot of potential, it just needs help to be more cohesive.

Overall this book was okay. I knew very quickly that crystal wasn’t going to be leaving farm cove because of how she was talking about the house and how she loved it.

Her and Derek’s relationship was one I struggled with because of the lack of communication and just overall up and down they were constantly going through. It got very old very quickly.
I felt like a lot of the time her son Mason was just used as filler because of how he was only mentioned as a problem and it wasn’t until the end that it was mentioned how much he was working and understanding why certain things weren’t okay.

A lot of this book just felt underdeveloped and stilted at times.

I’m interested to see how the author continues to grow the more they write.

Wanted to love this so bad, but couldn’t get into it. The first half was very good and captivating but it definitely slowed down after that. I think the trope was also not my thing as much! Not too bad, just couldn’t really get into it.

Such a cute book. I loved the vibes and the romance so much. Definitely recommend if you love small town cutest romance. It’s so sweet, which is right in the title!

For starters, I loved the fact that the author went for different set of characters/ protagonists than what we are used to when it comes to romance : navigating people with baggage from the past, a widow with a teenager and a divorcee with a son.. Leading two different lifestyles, Until their lifelines collide and major events take place.
But, it the choice of the characters have made this novel somehow less enjoyable...the dialogues between both characters didn't make much sense most of the time, the romance buildup was a bit rushed and senseless in a way and the drama factor didn't make much sense, like loads of the issues that the characters encountered were very cliché / rushed / childish...

I would have loved it more if we got to dive a bit deeper into the protagonists backgrounds and characters before leading to their meet up point.

All in all, it's a very swift read and somehow enjoyable.

Rating: 3 stars ⭐️

This book personally wasn’t for me because it deals with grief.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and author for providing me with this copy. My opinions are my own.

This is a cute story, and something a bit different from what I normally read. It is set in a small town, and the two main characters deals with the loss of someone close to them in a different way.

The book has short chapters which is a big plus for me and makes it easy to read. I read this book in one sitting.

I wasn’t too fond of the FMC, and the same issue of trust was present throughout the book which for me personally was a bit repetitive. I still think the book deals with some important subjects, and all in all it is a cute story with a happy ending.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of this book.

Crystal and Derek acknowledged their attraction to each other pretty early in the story with flirting and looks. Derek surprised me, he was still caught up with his late-wife felt guilty for dating and being with other women, when it came to Crystal yes he still thought of Vanessa but not as much. He seem to have moved on pretty fast with Crystal. The writing was light and fast, I enjoyed both of the MCs points of view. It got a bit repetitive when Derek and Crystal had a miscommunication and stopped talking to each other for a few days.

I received a complimentary copy from NetGalley and E.D. Hackett.

I enjoyed this book and thought that the story was good. It did keep me entertained and I wanted to keep reading. The cover drew me in immediately and made me want to read the book. I also loved the short chapters!

However, there were parts that were super cringe for me and I had a hard time with Crystal’s attitude. Knowing her backstory, I get it but at the same time, it grated on me. I expected her to grow as a character as the chapters went on but she was kind of stuck and at the last few chapters, she finally grew.

I did like that this was a glimpse into trying to find love and yourself after heartbreak and tragedy. It did give me the feels on that.

Thank you to NetGalley and E.D. Hackett for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

The beginning of this book was good, I really enjoyed it. The middle and end, not so much. I did not like the conflicts over the money issues. The book was also predictable. The relationship moved too fast.
