This is a simple board book meant to illustrate simple concepts. In general, this would just be another of the same thing that comes out every year. However, the illustrations are so much fun. I would hang almost any of them on my wall. My personal favorite is the wet cat and the far pigeon, but the elephants are kind of cool too. This would be a book I’d gladly get for my little niece to chew on and eventually one day read and understand.

A fanciful, fun read for young readers featuring pairs of opposites accompanied by cute pictures. Young readers encounter new animals and words in an easy-to-follow format with opposites depicted on opposites ides of the book. Help young readers learn new words and build their understanding of adjectives with this whimsical book!

My youngest son is currently learning about opposites, so the ARC of this book was perfectly timed. I really love the art style of this series - all the illustrations are fun, bold and engaging and often prompt children to identify different animals, shapes and colours. This is a great board book for little ones and a great addition to your reading corner at home and in schools.

Another book that my kid read herself and she loves to read this daily. Learning opposites with animal pictures makes this book different than other opposite board books I have seen so far. We dive right into the book that first shows the picture of an animal with a word and then its opposite with an animal picture. Mine is eARC so I have to flip the page for the opposite word but I think physical book might have both opposite words side by side (see pic below). There are easy opposite words for early learning kids. Animal illustrations are very cute and each opposite word set has different bright colors.

A cute and short book teaching young children about opposites using animals. The illustrations are very engaging and enjoyable. This is not a book that you'll read very many times though.

What a cute book! I love the illustrations and the bold colors. It really grabs your attention. Like how they made the opposite words bigger to help learn what the opposites are.. My granchildren will love reading this book! Thank You to NetGalley for an ARC of this book.

Thank you to the author, Quarto Publishing Group - Frances Lincoln Children's Books and NetGalley, for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This artist is amazing, I love this book and the little one I read it with was entranced. It's colorful and fun - the sheer variety of animals make this a great book to look at and read with young children, and the "opposites" concept is very well-done and illustrated. I especially like that many of the animals are not particularly cuddly, but still nothing to strike fear into young hearts. Highly recommend!

This book is another cute book for teaching children about opposites. There are 13 pairs in this book, each with adorable and goofy animal illustrations. It's very colorful, with the background color changing with each pair, easy to keep a young child's attention.

Great little book for younger children, that gives them examples of opposites - with cute illustrations too.
My little boy has additional needs so isn't interested much in books, but he loved this one as we have been practising opposites all week!

Animal opposites is another fun book in the series by Nikolas Ilic. The goofy art and lively animals make learning fun and memorable. I especially loved the wet cat and near pigeon. Kids will be sure to laugh out loud at many of these illustrations and understand the concept of opposites after enjoying this book.

A cute book for young children that teaches them about opposites, like young/old. It uses animals to show these differences.

I received an early review of this book via NetGalley. All thoughts in this review are my honest opinion.

Another book that I will read and most likely reread to my sister. The illustrations were fun, simple and colourful. And the very readable text is a fun and easy way to learn about opposites by using a diverse range of animals to keep young audiences entertained. The examples of different types of opposites was also unique and appealing.

My kids asked me to read this one again as soon as I finished. I’ve read quite a few opposites books and this is probably my favorite of them. The only critics is “far/near”. Near is not a word that my kids ever use, but “close” is. I’m confused why close wasn’t chosen. But I would for sure recommend this as my first choice for a book of opposites!

A fun opposites book for littles with bright and engaging stories. My family especially loved the near and far pigeon illustrations!

This book aims to introduce toddlers to the wonderful world of opposites.

The word pairs picked were useful for toddlers with a growing vocabulary and also presented in a clever way. For instance, to show 'up' and 'down', it showed a bat hanging upside down and a bat sitting up on a branch. I also liked how it ends with a goodbye to all the animals-- my two year old happily waved goodbye to them before asking if we could read it again.

The illustrations are a joy. They are super colorful. and appealing for toddlers, but with enough detail and character to appeal to adults as well. The animals are also well chosen and provide a nice variety of common and uncommon creatures to pique your child's interest.

I would recommend this to anyone with a child under age 3. I'll definitely pick up the board book version of this when it releases.

I will post a review to my blog closer to the release date and update the links then.

A great way to learn about opposites! I really loved the illustrations as well. This was a fun read, and I'm sure children will think so too! Bolding each relevant word was a good choice and draws the eye a lot
