Cute little book with a lyrical flow. My 1 year old loved listening as I read it and looking at all of the pictures. Bright colored pictures keep kiddos interested in the pages as you read. This is a great for littles to learn about how rumors can be very wrong.

Such a good book! It has a unique storyline and would be good for all ages. Love the rhyming and pictures also. Can't wait until this comes out so I can read it at a storytime!

Thank you to NetGalley, and the Publisher for the eARC! This is a cute story about acceptance- the town thinks a creature is "bad" but when a girl finds the creature it turns out to be very friendly. This book shows how rumors can spread like wildfire and they are not always true. I liked the rhyming throughout the book for exposure to rhyming for young readers as well.

A mysterious and cute story about teaching kids to not listen to rumors, that sometimes, (actually most of the time) something scary might not be scary at all, it just takes a bit of insight and courage or just a once of curiosity to find out the truth and be free from any prejudice :) (I want a blue bagoo as a friend. it's adorable.)

This is such a fun short story with the message of don't judge a book by its cover! I think this is a fun and simple edition to a collection that is just looking to weed some older titles and they want something new but with a lesson. I love the short sentences, the way the pages would be broken up, the main characters determination and independence, and of course the additional sidekick we get along the way.

Book Review

A very sweet short story book with an important message contained. This is an absolutely fantastic story for children of all ages to help teach them not to listen to rumours and what damage can be done through them. The story is rhyming and I had loads of fun reading it myself as a 36 year old and then my 10 year old son also enjoyed reading it. I also read it to my 5 year old twins who absolutely loved the bright and fun illustrations which were very attractive to the eye. The story was funny with a hint of mystery and a twist at the end!! A lovely children's book and I am looking forward to reading more children's books by this author myself and to the children!!!

THE BLUE BAGOO is a cute story of how quickly a rumor can spread. It's all about a little girl who wants to know who the Blue Bagoo is. Everyone in her village says the Blue Bagoo is horrible and it ate family members and does horrible things. But they can't say anything more concrete. And what happens when the little girl finally meets the Blue Bagoo?

Read the story and find out for yourself!

Ooh, and the illustrations are gorgeous! It's all colorful and bright, with a whimsical monster quality. This book is perfect for preschool and young readers alike. It's one I look forward to sharing with my kids.

Beware The Blue Bagoo by Karl Newson.
Our detective addresses us—the reader—on the very first page, and then walks the winding cobbled streets of a Dr. Suess–esque seaside town, taking statements from the residents.
A fun and great read. My daughter loves the illustrations and the story. 5*.

Loved it! A superb book about not just believing everything you hear, but finding out the truth and forming your own opinions. A lovely message about how if you are nice and kind, that is what you'll get back too.

Several times, I thought I must be at the last page, only to find I still had some pages to go and I think it's because a lot of books would finish at the big reveal. I liked how this wasn't the end of the story because actually if you believe rumours and base opinions of others on false information, it doesn't just end when you realise you're wrong, there are reparations to be made and the book shows this.

The illustrations are excellent and children will enjoy looking for clues about the Blue Bagoo on each page.

What a wonderful story about how rumors can really hurt someone.

The Blue Bagoo is a fearsome, terrible creature according to all. But as our narrator investigates just who is the Blue Bagoo, we come to find out the Blue Bagoo is really nothing to be afraid of.

This was a great read aloud; the rhyming was spot on, and the illustrations were not overly colorful but just right. My 7- and 6-year-old boys really enjoyed this, and it was a good opener to have a discussion on how when we hear something that we don't know ourselves to be true we shouldn't just spout it out as such. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has children maybe 5-8 years old.

Thank-you, NetGalley and Quatro Publishing Group - Frances Lincoln Children's Book for this ARC!

Beware of the Blue Bagoo is a rhyming word picture book which makes the story very catchy.

The main character is on the search for the Blue Bagoo throughout the story. Hearing awful and scary things about this creature from others as they search. In the end the main character learns that you can't always listen to judgements and opinions of others, as they are not always true.

The story itself was cute and catchy. Although really young children might catch a fright because of the thought of parents being gobbled up.

The illustrations are busy and full of color.

I liked the idea behind the book, and the illustrations and especially the choice of colour palette is great. This "Bagoo" thing is a bit odd, but the overall message and the rhyming text make it a cute picture book.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group / Francis Lincoln Children's Books for an Advance Review Copy.

This book was super cute. The rhyme and pace of it was excellent, it reads aloud very well and has a wonderfully melodic tone. The message is wonderful- be careful with rumours and strive to live with love and kindness first. And the illustrations were beautiful, I adore them so so much. Will definitely buy a copy for my small ones and recommend to all the parents I know!
