This is the second book in this series, but you don't have to read the others to enjoy this one. This book is great for the middle school reader who is interested in video games and/or fantasy style books. I thought the adventure was fun with just the right amount of drama. I also liked the characters and how they developed over the course of the story. The story itself flowed well from one chapter to the next, held my attention and was excellently written. Overall, a fun engaging book!

this was a great sequel in the Team Chu series, it did everything that I enjoyed from the first book. It was a great concept and worked in this universe. The characters were what I was looking for and it had everything that I was looking for. Julie C. Dao has a great writing style and I enjoyed getting back to this universe.

"I hear a snort and turn to see Molly behind me. Since we left Winterhearth House, she’s pulled her long hair into a high ponytail just like mine and rolled up the sleeves of her baggy shirt the same way I did. “Oh, please,” she says. “You guys know as well as I do that the orc was just an actor in makeup, giving us backstory so we know what our first challenge will be.”
