Renie Mayfield may have survived the attack on Belle Morte, but it changed her forever. She’ll live as a vampire for eternity and cannot move on until she finds out who turned her sister, June, into a rabid.

Plus, her love, Edmond Dantes, faces punishment for saving Renie. There is so much corruption, she doesn’t know what to believe. All she wants to do is free Edmond and get justice for June.

Revelations is the exciting sequel to Belle Morte. I was glad to see this story continue. It’s a great read, especially if you are a fan of vampire reads. Bella Higgin does a wonderful job of bringing characters to life. It’s easy to root for them, and they grow on you completely. However, I wished we would have got more flashbacks of the older vampires’ lives, including Edmond. It was such a tease to only hear it described without really getting into the nitty gritty of things.

Also, I found things came to easy to Renie. It would have been nice to see her struggle some more and really grow as a vampire. It felt like they cheated us, because everyone around her always bailed her out or almost handed her a win.

I did enjoy this read, but Belle Morte is the superior book of the two. If you like vampire stories, especially with some romance; I’d still recommend this read!

Belle Morte ended with a cliffhanger and was super action packed. And we get pulled back into the action right from the start with this book. I adore vampire books and in this book vampires are celebrities and live out in the open. They have donors that feed them without killing them and it's a prestigious job.
From the last book now Renie had infiltrated Bella Morte for information but now she's got a very tight knit crew and something bigger is happening. Oo and the bad guy is gaslighting like crazy! Just telling everyone she did it, it's your word against mine.
What do you do when you know the truth but no one believes you?
This was so action packed as they tried to figure out who was all involved and how widespread it was. Who was really your ally.
Edmund and Renie's relationship grows and becomes stronger.
Loved the dark academia vibes and the vampire hierarchy.

Thank you wattpad for the e-ARC for my honest and voluntary review.

was this book was shorter than the first one? I zipped right through this and before I even knew what had happened, I was at the end. So zippy and action packed in a good way!

I enjoyed this series and this particular book more that the first.
Here you really got to know some of the minor players from the first one better, while also getting to know Renie and Edmond more deeply. They are inseparable and we have those ‘touch her and die’ vibes.
I really enjoy dual POV books, but there was one this about this one that got my nerves… Renie’s POV was in the first person and Edmond’s was in the third person. I’m not going to lie, it bothered me and I wish this was consistent.
It also bothered me how everyone believed the antagonist - how? His story was not believable!
My favorite part of the story was the development of Ysanne, their fierce leader. She played a rather minor role in the first novel, but stepped up to the plate here. We get both a good amount of back story and development.
Overall, I round this one up to a 4 star. I would recommend this book if you like vampires and are looking for a different take on the genre - with vampires being in the public eye with a blood donor system in place.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a digital arc of the book. The opinions expressed are honest and my own.

This was one of my most anticipated reads of the year so I am incredibly grateful for being approved early for this arc.

I went into Revelations without any expectations because I genuinely couldn't guess where the story was going to go after Belle Morte- and Bella Higgin gave me everything I didn't know I needed with this sequel.

She couldn't have picked a better cover AND title because this story is filled with plot twists and revelations (😉) that I could have gotten whiplash. While I love the romance elements between Renie and Edmond, I loved that this story felt almost like a thriller- with vampires. You all know I love vampires.

This one also got a little ✨steamy✨ much to my surprise.

I absolutely loved the addition of Nikki Flynn's character to the story, she's simply iconic. I would DIE for a spin-off story of her growing up and training to be her father's predecessor.

Lastly, I literally couldn't tell if there will be a third book or not by the ending. All I can think is Renie, Isabeau, Edmond, Ludovic, Caoimhe, Ysanne, Roux and Jason are TIRED and need a break! 😅

1st & 3rd person/dual pov
Spice: 2/5

Dare I say I enjoyed book two even more than I did book one? Finding out answers to some of the mysterious events that happened in Belle Morte gave me exactly what I was hoping for out of the sequel. In some ways, I feel like I got some closure that I didn't realize I was seeking until the end of the book. It grabbed me from the first chapter and held onto my attention until I was done. The plot was good, full of secrets and mystery leaving you to wonder who can truly be trusted. Old friendships were tested, some made stronger in the process, and some new potential friends were added along the way. There were even some passionate moments mixed in that I wasn't quite expecting but loved seeing. It was very well written at that. Nothing is described in great detail but detailed enough to paint the picture without turning away readers who may not enjoy spicier content in the books they consume. The switch between 1st and 3rd person didn't bother me at all and I feel like that is due to how the 3rd person chapters are written. It's in a way that almost feels like 1st person so it's not as much of a shift for my brain to process the going back and forth. I'm still not entirely sure what kind of difference it makes to the story by having some of it written in 3rd person but I enjoyed it regardless. That in itself is saying a lot since I usually do not enjoy books I've read in 3rd person.

If you enjoyed book one then I have no doubt you will like book two even more.
Don't forget to review any content warnings provided before reading as there are a few things that some readers could potentially find triggering.

This sequel, to Belle Morte, picks up quickly after the end of the first book. Renie has been turned into a vampire and is dealing with the consequences of that. She's angry and ready to take everyone down.

What I love about this series is the amazing characters. From the vampires - new and old - to the human donors, all of them play a part in this series and they all have their own personality without being muddled. And the relationship that is found for all is awesome, too. Renie and Edmond are just everything, but her relationship with Roux and Jason is beautiful to see, too.

I will say that the story wasn't as good as the first book, but that doesn't mean I wasn't interested or invested. The pacing seemed to be rushing to get everything over with. Things happened so fast sometimes, the main didn't even realize what was happening. This book does end everything nicely and wraps it all up without a cliffhanger.

I'd hate for Renie, Edmond, and the others to have to endure more pain with more sequels, but I'd absolutely read more of this world and characters. Give this series a chance and hopefully enjoy it like I do.

Vampire romances are back with the Belle Morte series. I remember reading these on Wattpad way back when, and loving this installment SO much. I loved the political games, the transition Renie goes through, and the found family aspects. These books are so fun, and the characters truly have such great chemistry with one another. If you're looking for a vampire romance packed with nostalgia, romance, political intrigue & found family, look no further than Belle Morte.

Thank you so much for the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I loved Belle Morte (the first book in this series) so I was super excited to get the ARC of book two! Revelations picks up right where Belle Morte left off. Renie wakes up as a vampire and everyone is trying to figure out how to deal with all the betrayals that took place in the first book.

I enjoyed this book, but I personally liked the first book better. This book started out really strong, then I felt like the middle dragged on a little with all the planning that was going on, then the end picked up again. I enjoyed seeing the relationships between the characters develop more than they had in the first book. Also, this book was a bit more spicy than you usually see in YA books, but I'm here for it! Lastly, I was very happy with the ending. The author tied up all the loose ends and there was no cliffhanger!

Overall, this was a pretty easy read and if you enjoy vampire YA books, I'm betting you'll like this one!

Thank you to NetGalley & Wattpad WEBTOON Book Group for this advanced copy of Revelations.

I went into reading this being very excited because I loved Belle Morte so much and it was on of my favorite reads of 2022. This book continued on from where we left off and it gave us so much more action, twists and lots of hurdles to overcome. I think some parts fell a bit flat for me, but overall this was a great addition to the Belle Morte story.

We see so many relationships and friendships grow, fall apart and some are left uncertain. The way the book ended, leaves me wondering if we will see more of these characters and if another situation is brewing for them to solve/figure out.
In the end, this was a lovely read and I think many people will enjoy it! :)

Revelations follows right where we left off in the first book, Belle Morte. (Revelations is the sequel of Belle Morte and not a standalone novel as it may suggest). We start off in a devastating and action packed state in the book!

While the previous book, Belle Morte, was about the introduction into the world, the culture, the characters, etc. Revelations is the action packed continuation of the fall out of the end of Belle Morte. Revelations had much more action and raw emotion (now that the characters know each other better) and the plot moved quickly. There were some characters that I enjoyed more than others (personal preference) and I still felt like each character really had their own personality and was still easily discernible from the other. I still wasn't as convinced or into the romance between our two main characters, Edmond and Renie, but I did enjoy some of their more raw moments. Their romance still felt sudden and incredibly impactful for such a short amount of time. The interactions between the rest of the cast of characters in this novel felt more nuanced, and therefore more believable and captivating.

The plot did move quickly in this one and everything was much more action packed, and so it made it quicker to read for me because I just *had* to know what would happen next. I enjoyed that the sudden change from luxury to absolutely action did not change the interactions of the characters or the way the world was in a startling way. We did get to see a bit more of the vampire world in the UK for this particular novel. I would have liked the world to be a bit better detailed and explained. This novel felt more surface level since there wasn't much more world building, even though we technically saw another portion of the world. I would have loved to hear about the vampire houses in other countries and to have the world opened up even more.

The authors writing is still very accessible in this novel, and it makes it easy to read and get through at a great pace. The writing itself is quite straightforward, and there isn't much flowery prose. Since there was so much action and so many reveals, it was not as atmospheric or as mysterious as the first one.

I did enjoy this one and found it fun and quick to read, It definitely sucked me in! There some elements missing for me that would have made this an unforgettable read, but it was certainly very enjoyable. I do think the author may come out with more books in this world, as there were still some loose ends to tie up at the end (no cliffhangers though!).

I was pretty meh about Belle Morte, the romance was super blah with no substance but I did like the world the author created so when a friend asked me to buddy read I decided to give this series another chance with Revelations. I was pleasantly surprised by how action packed this book was, almost right from the beginning. There was almost no time for the underdeveloped yet oh so important romance to happen when all the characters are on the run for their lives and I am here for that.

I will say that Revelations was a more engaging read to me then Belle Morte was. This story was fast paced and basically never had a slow point, the characters jumping from one fire to the next the entire story. The romance is still underdeveloped with a instalove vibe I really hate but it was not really the focus of this book. Disclaimer- there was sexy time here, so I would not call YA but more a NA genre read (also lots of violence/death/torture- don't give to younger readers!). I do like the concept for the world as well, where Vampires came out to the mundanes and now live like celebrities, it is a very neat twist on what the future would hold that I appreciate. This story seemed to wrap up completely so I think this is the end of a duology.

I recommend this series for the vampire and paranormal romance fans out there and anyone who likes instalove love.

I was so happy to get this sequel, and it did not disappoint! The mystery aspect really drew me in, and it's such a fantastic take on vampires. Will highly recommend!

4.5⭐️

This is most definitely not a standalone. You have been warned.

The story picks right back up where it left off, Renie survived the attack on the mansion—just barely. Now she’s vampire with a completely different perspective and understanding of how things work and Ysanne made some of the choices she did.
The growth from Renie’s narration is gradual and organic which I liked a lot. Seeing her struggle to comes to terms with something that she had never wanted for herself; watching her grow into her new self and to Edmond’s view as he’s watching the metamorphosis was really well done.
My complaints about this book are incredibly mild, truly, they’re hardly worth complaining about but that’s why we’re here though, so… here’s goes: there’s no epilogue, my understanding is that this is the end of the series, and major things have happened and are happening—and no epilogue? Nothing that tells me these characters are doing good, life is great, they’re happy? No epilogue?! I digress, great book, definitely need to read the first book Belle Morte to understand the context of Revelations but it’s all totally worth it.

Nonstop action keeps the reader turning pages in this sequel to Belle Morte. After an attack on their vampire house, Edmund turned Renie to keep her from permanently dying. As Renie struggles to adjust to being a vampire, she, Edmund and some vampire and human friends are forced to run when they find the plot extended way deeper into their world than they had dreamed.

As they battle for survival, the fate of the truce between vampires and humans rests in their success.

This book was more focused on the war between different vampire houses than on romance, though some light romantic elements still made it in. Edmund still adores Renie and others made romantic connections.

I enjoyed spending time with Renie and Edmund again and seeing what kind of a couple they could be now that Renie is on an even footing with Edmund.

Oh my gawd this was so good, I experienced the same nostalgia I got from the first book reading the second as well. I enjoyed reading it again after having read it years ago on Wattpad. Reine waking up as vampire, people dying, betraying, and the love between Edmond and Reine, so much happens in this book....I most definitely ate this book up in one sitting and I can't wait to read more.

Right off the start, I loved how much more action-packed this one is compared to the first book. I think that is typical though, as the first book has to establish characters and the story world. But in this way, it definitely improved on the pacing and plotting from the first book. I also liked that there were some great horror-esque moments. It’s way more dark and serious than a lot of other vampire books, which I love about it. The tensions and emotions are ramped up even more in this sequel. It is a great continuation from the first book and in a lot of ways I think it’s even better. As with the first book, I think the setting and the world-building are a highlight. I usually love a dual POV, but the shifting between first and third person (I also mentioned this in my review of Belle Morte) is jarring. I think this is a really great series that a lot of people will love and I definitely recommend it if you like vampires. I feel like vampires made a bit of a comeback after falling out of favor for a while, but I think that trend is starting to fizzle out again. That being said, I think Higgin is a fantastic writer and I would love to see what she comes out with next, after this series is finished.

Revelations is the dramatic follow up to Belle Morte, and starts with Renie waking up a freshly turned vampire. There was a lot more action in this instalment since the world building was already in place, which made it a much faster and more gripping read. I wasn't too keen on the romance to be honest - Edmond and Renie felt way too fast in the first book and that wasn't improved here. The other characters were more engaging, but I did mark the book down a bit for how often I had to roll my eyes!

I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

This is the second book in the Belle Morte series, I've read the first one and really enjoyed it so was excited to read this and delve back in to the vampire world.

It's hard to say much about it because I don't want to spoil it for anybody who hasn't read the first one and wants to read them. Check out my review of Belle Morte.

As like the first book this was a quick read. The story picks up Renie's story where the first book finished it was exciting, fast paced with lots of blood and gore!

I loved seeing the different sides to all the characters especially Ysanne.

This was a brilliant sequel definitely a series to read.

Thank you to Netgalley and Wattpad Books for the ARC.
