Omg I loved this story. It didn’t feel nearly as cliche or cheesy as what I would expect from Hallmark while still serving up all of the swoony, butterflies in the stomach feelings. Of course there is no steam, just a kiss.

Narration: These are two top tier narrators and you should pick this one up for their performances alone.

Thanks to Dreamscape and NetGalley for my chance to review.

Do the “Cupid chocolates” from Lucy’s shop
really help people meet their One True Love?
Dean, a TV reporter, has his doubts…

Lucy’s chocolate shop, How Sweet It Is, has been in her family for generations…along with the secret recipe for Cupid chocolates. Rumor has it that if you eat one on February 14, you’ll meet your soulmate. Lucy herself isn’t sure if it’s magic or just romantic optimism, but a family legend is at stake. Besides, with her grandmother to support and a rival bakery opening up across the street, it certainly doesn’t hurt to believe.

Dean, an ambitious and skeptical TV reporter, doesn’t like the idea of a business taking advantage of romantic desperation. He doesn’t count on Lucy joining him as he tracks down and interviews couples supposedly brought together by the chocolates. Together, they find that the truth can be complicated…especially when it comes to their own hearts.

My first thought while listening to this was, hey I feel like I am watching a Hallmark movie, and low and behold they made it into one! The type of book that is cute, not a heavy read, and kind of predictable. While it's enjoyable it is not very memorable. Did I enjoy listening to it yes, did I find it cute, and was I entertained yes. There are definitely overly cheesy aspects of the books and at times I was rolling my eyes from the cheeseness but it wasn't too cheesy.

I enjoyed the slow burn aspect of it but again that is something that you come to expect from a Hallmark movie and that is what you get with this book. If you enjoy Hallmark-type books then this is one for you.

A super sweet (no pun intended) story about a what I deem romantic/cynic or sunshine/grump trope that I couldn't not enjoy and sink my teeth right in to. I loved the setting, I loved the concept of the Cupid Chocolates, and I just really all in all enjoyed this fluffy read. I also enjoyed the narrators, which helped with the enjoyment immensely.

This was my first Lizzie Shane's book, and won't be my last. Lucy and Dean's story is beautifully written, sweet, and heartwarming. Lucy is sweet, smart, and caring. Dean is very handsome. They are perfect together. I loved Lucy's grandmother. The characters are great, and interesting. The storyline is engaging, and easy to listen to. Brittany Pressley and Andrew Eiden did an excellent job bringing this story to life. I enjoyed it. I received a copy of this book through NetGalley, a Dreamscape Media Audio production, for an honest review.

How Sweet It Is, is Lucy’s family chocolate shops, that she now runs. One of her families most secret recipes is for the “Cupid Chocolates” and if you eat one of these special chocolates on February 14th, you’ll meet your soulmate. But there is a family legend surrounding the cupid chocolates, so the family has kept it a secret. Until a high end bakery moves in across the street, Lucy must decide if she should market the cupid chocolates and run the risk of the legend. Thats until ambitious and skeptical TV reporter Dean shows up to bring down the business for lying to their customers. Together, Lucy and Dean will uncover the truth of the cupid chocolates and see if they actually work.

Sweeter than Chocolate is a dual 3rd person POV, grumpyxsunshine, small business, dislike to lovers, slow burn, HEA with no steamage romance book.

Its pretty obvious that this book was made by Hallmark, it’s literally on the cover but it is so cute and SWEET! While you can probably guess where the story goes, its still very entertaining and is a very light easy read. Lucy and Dean were great characters, they were well rounded and had interesting backstories. The side characters are also so entertaining! Lucys grandma is everything!

The narration by Brittany Pressley and Andrew Eiden was so well done! Both narrators did an excellent job and kept me engaged the whole time. I finished this in one day so I highly recommend!

Thank you NetGalley, Dreamscape Media & Hallmark Publishing for an advanced audio copy for an honest review. I love you guys 💕

Super cute but not overly memorable sadly. I loved the chocolate storyline cause who doesn’t love chocolate but besides that this one wasn’t a winner for me really. A good palette cleanser romance but overall fairly forgettable.

This is a book that is most certainly made for and by hallmark. If you didn't know before starting it you do once you're about 50 pages in. its not that its a bad book. its just predictable.

Okay, set your expectations, the cover specifically advertises published by Hallmark, so we are guaranteed a happy ending, but that doesn’t stop someone from viewing an inevitably happy ending hallmark movie, so don’t let that stop you from picking up this book. I am a big fan of grumpy/ sunshine romances and listened to this audiobook in 5 short installments. A very cute love story!

The first and foremost word that comes to mind about this book is SWEET!💝🍫

It's a cute Hallmark romance book. A little cheesy but in a perfect sort of way! The narrators, Brittany Pressley and Andrew Eiden are particular favourites of mine and did a fantastic job as usual.

If you need a book to read around Valentine’s Day, choose this one!

Many times in this book, I was reminded of a Hallmark movie in the best way possible. Depending on your experience with Hallmark movies, that might be a little too cheesy at time but around Valentine’s Day, I found it to be the perfect amount of optimistic romance. I think part of the reason it reminded me of a Hallmark movie is that this book is from Hallmark Publishing (which I did not even know existed until I read this book.

I loved the dynamic between all the characters. The “magical chocolates” and the superstition behind them were handed in a unique way. I enjoyed the field reports and the other romance stories that were related to the chocolates.

I highly recommend this book, especially near Valentine’s Day!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Sweeter than Chocolate is exactly that, a good sweet book to get you through the long days and nights. The chocolate shop in town has been passed down through the generations, just as the recipes have, Especially the one for Cupid Chocolates which when eaten are supposed to help you find true love.. However, as with any good magic there are rules that must be followed because of the curse.
This was a cute book that Hallmark is turning into a movie, so if you don't have time to read, or you want to read before you watch, you better hurry.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to read this book. It was super sweet, and was the best way to celebrate valentines day.

I thought that the characters were fun, and matched the Hallmark movie vibe that I adore. (Grandma was my shining star. The Mexican hot chocolate was amazing!)

Super cute, and I can't wait to read more.

A bakery that sells chocolate that makes you find your true love but only on Valentine’s Day?! Nora’s friend Lena found her true love the year Prie and is now engaged!! She made a post about how she found true love on Valentine’s Day after eating one of Hoe Sweet It Is Chocolate shopps’s magic Cupid chocolates. While Lucy battles the opening of a rival bakery, lots of press and keeping her shop open wil she find love too?
Thank you NetGalley for the chance to read this book in exchange for my honest feedback!

I wanted a valentines book to read and decided to try this one. I loved it. I was not surprised to see it is a hallmark movie. It reads like you are watching it on screen. Delightful, fun, predictable but still unique.

I loved this storyline so much that I couldn't put it down. It kind of reminded me of one of my favorite V-Day movies (Valentines Day, 2010) because the movie has a reporter who's a bit skeptic about love just like the reporter in this book. Additionally, I could almost taste the chocolate. The plot was intriguing with a skeptic reporter going after a chocolatier because he thinks her shop's concept is a scam up until his job is on the line, but the damage is already done because now, she doesn't trust him. It was great from start to finish. You will definitely find "Aww!"-worthy moments.

A very "sweet" story about finding love, magic, and taking risks at Valentine's Day! An amazingly written story, performed by two wonderful narrators who brought this book and the characters to life!

Finally! FINALLY I was approved for an audiobook by NetGalley! You guys, I can DEVOUR like, 10 audiobooks in the time it takes me to read an ebook or print book. Come on NetGalley, give this girl more Audiobooks!

Okay. Enough of that. Onto the book!

Sweeter Than Chocolate is a Hallmark book, and TBH, that scared me. I thought, "Oh boy, this is going to be so unbelievably cheesy, what if I can't read more than a page without rolling my eyes?"

Well, fellow readers, I'm happy to announce that I was so off base! This book was absolutely adorable and not at all overly cheesy.

Lucy is a woman with a good head on her shoulders. Her family has a legend about the Cupid Chocolates they make in their chocolate shop: if you eat a Cupid Chocolate you will find your true love. And the magic is strongest on Valentine's Day. Lucy isn't quite sure if she buys into the magic of the Cupid Chocolates, but she's open to the possibilities of her chocolates bringing true love to her patrons.

Meanwhile, Dean is a TV news journalist sent to film a puff piece about Lucy's Cupid Chocolates when they go viral on social media, but what he'd really love to do is create an expose about the fraud Lucy is perpetuating. Chocolates that make you fall in love? What a joke! Unfortunately for Dean, to salvage his career, he has to stick to the puff piece to show his softer side.

After a rocky start, Lucy and Dean soon become allies. But when everything starts to fall apart for Lucy, she starts to believe that the curse also associated with the magic love chocolates, is at work.

This was an adorable slow burn romance. Learning about both Lucy and Dean was so interesting. Dean especially had interesting character growth. But watching Lucy learn to let go and accept the success of the chocolates was heartwarming.

I definitely recommend this adorable contemporary romance to anyone... and not just around Valentine's Day!

I loved this audiobook, if you need a rom com to get you into the Valentine's Day spirit, this one was definitely it.

It was full of the cheesy and amazing romance moments, I loved the "chocolates" and the chocolate shop in this book.

To give a little synopsis, the FMC owns a chocolate shop and the MMC is a news anchor person who investigates frauds. He's supposed to give a puff piece of the chocolate shop because they claim to have a chocolate that lets you find true love.

It was such a cute and quick read for anyone needing some love during the Valentine's Day madness.
