I always enjoy a good adventurous historical novel and this was one of them, I enjoyed the plot of the book and the use of World War 1. I thought the characters were written well and worked in this universe. I was invested in what was going on and getting to read this. J.B. RIvard has a great writing style that left me wanting more.

"Ahead, the fog dissipated. Black smoke appeared on the horizon. Below it Gregor saw a dark smudge, possibly a ship. “Standby,” he said, raising binoculars to his eyes. “Three funnels—a cruiser.” As the torpedo boat continued to slow, he tried to interpret the ship’s profile. “Ah,” he said after a long moment, “I think it is German. Hold fire!”
