Anyone who wants a spicy workplace romance will love this book. This book brings all the passion and steam from page one!

For anyone who likes an age gap, alpha male, enemies to lovers, workplace billionaire romance, this is the book for you. You definitely have to be in the mood for a book like this (or at least I do) so make sure that's what you want. IF you are looking for lovey-dovey and sweet this is not the book for you.

The one thing I did not like about this book is it felt a little too insta love for me. I would recommend this story to anyone who is looking for a spicy Valentine's Day read. Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read this story!

This book made me mad. Declan is a bully. He was mean and cruel to Hannah throughout the entire book. His behavior was inexcusable. This was a turn off for me.

What happens when your one night stand happens to be your new boss at your family’s law firm, who now is assigned to mentor you for a full semester. Oh and he’s a huge douche that that you can’t stand. A lot of hotness LEMME TELL YOU. Jesus I wasn’t read for all the heat that was melting each page that I read. And the story line was so good too??!?

Go read it. NOW. Or buy the audio book. The narration is great. But prepared to be dripping like a faucet… ✨you & your 🐱 have been warned✨

If you like desk scenes, office scenes, then this is the book for you!

Im addicted to this series. I knew there was something between Hannah and Declan! This was spicy from the very start. I loved every minute. Hannah is a strong fierce character. Declan is an alphahole that eventually becomes a sweetheart. I cannot wait to read the next one. Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the audio arc in exchange for my honest review.

Unfortunately, this book wasn't for me. There is a difference (to me) on enemies to lovers and assholes who don't deserve the girls, but yet the girl falls anyway?

I really enjoyed the start of this one. I was excited about how they met and their initial night together. Something just shifted after they started working together. Yes - there is a weird conflict, but Declan was honestly just an asshole. Plain and simple. He pushed her away attraction / sexually and was brutal when it came to her working with him. I think the only thing that really drew Hannah to him was the good sex and his career.

I loved the friend, and this had such potential, but the depth with the characters wasn't there.

The Intern by Marni Mann.

Thank you Valentine PR and NetGalley for the audio code! Narrated by: Savannah Peachwood; Lee Samuels. Savannah is one of my favorite narrators so added bonus.

Hannah and Declan, mmm mmm mmm. How is it that anytime Marni writes a new Dalton I’m obsessed? Add Hannah to that list. She’s driven, confident, sexy, smart and doesn’t backdown. In walks Declan, grumpy, domineering, highly successful and now Hannah’s boss after a very steamy one night stand. You can see where this is going and go there it did. OMG the chemistry, the heat, the intensity. Off the charts. Marni is the queen. And this book more than delivered. You can also count on the strong family dynamic in this one as everyone is looking out for Hannah, which is so sweet. I just love this family!! I don’t want this series to end, thankfully we have another book coming. So looking forward to it.

“What Declan didn’t know was that I was a storm and he’d just ramped up the wind inside me.”

“Hannah Dalton wasn’t just a presence. She was a statement. A mood. And I wanted to worship her.”

“It was a game. But this wasn’t about winning. This was about ownership. Hannah’s orgasms were mine. I decided when they happened.”

“Try to whisper instead of roar.”

“There’s nothing better in this world than watching you come.”

“If I give you pain, will you trust that it will eventually lead to pleasure?”

Description:

In the legal world, everyone knows my last name. So, when Declan Shaw—the hottest, most ruthless and sought-after litigator in the state—comes in to mentor my class’s mock trial, I decide not to reveal that piece of personal information.

I want a one-on-one with him like I’m any other law student, especially when we go out to celebrate after class.

But the one-on-one ends with us in the alley behind the bar.
With us stripping off our clothes.
With me screaming his name.
It’s desperate-to-have-you, no-holds-barred, downright filthy sex.

And then, he ghosts me, like a complete alphahole.

But a few weeks later, when I walk into The Dalton Group—my family’s law firm—where I’m starting my internship, my new boss is waiting for me.

The man I despise.
The man I can still taste in my fantasies.
Declan Shaw.

The Intern has become my favorite in The Dalton Family series, and I think that's largely due to Declan. I love a redeemable grump, so Declan was bound to win me over completely. There were a few times when I wanted to shake the daylights out of him, but that was to be expected. The angst is pretty low, and while it's easy enough to see coming once things progress, it's not from the direction I would've thought at the beginning. This series has been great for getting away from the everyday and living vicariously through the characters. Savannah Peachwood and Lee Samuels give voice to the characters, and they do a superb job of keeping the many characters unique while giving us all that makes up Declan and Hannah. The Daltons are an engaging group, and the more I get to know them, the more I like them. I think Hannah may very well be the toughest of the bunch, but she's got a terrific group to take it after. So, if you're looking to get lost in some steamy fun and low angst romance, The Intern is recommended.

Words can’t express how much I loved this audiobook. Marni Mann always gives us a great storyline with interesting, fun, and relatable characters. I especially love how she writes this series with dual POV’s. It allows the reader to be even more invested in the story and MC’s. But this [audio]book – This was the spiciest of all the stories in this series, in my opinion. I’m surprised my earbuds didn’t catch on fire. It was tantalizing and scandalous. The chemistry between Declan and Hannah was sizzling. The smeggsy scenes were explosively hot! Hannah is such a delightful character. But even more than that, she’s strong, smart, and gives Declan a run for his money. I loved her in the last story and how wonderful she was with Everly. This story showed me such much more about Hannah than I ever expected. She seemed like such a sweet and innocent young woman in The Single Dad. She definitely surprised me (and Declan) with her strength and seductiveness. Declan is the epitome of a scorching hot alpha man. He’s successful, confident, commanding, and dangerously delicious. A true alphahole with a hidden sweet side, and a not so hidden naughty side. I loved every single thing about this epic story.

Savannah Peachwood and Lee Samuels are a dream team. They were perfectly cast for their roles. Their timing, pitch, pace, and tones were exemplary. These two narrators are flawless in everything they do. Their characterizations were spot on. They made the smeggsy in the story even more intense. I love the way Lee portrayed Declan. He’s an intense character and Lee embodied him flawlessly. Savannah really embodied Hannah and made her shine. They both brought this story to life. I highly recommend the audiobook version of The Intern. Thank you to Valentine PR and NetGalley for gifting me this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Wow Hannah and Declan were so hot together their chemistry was off the charts and so intense the sexual tension between these two was insane the heat level in this audio was off the charts this is definitely one of the hottest audiobooks I’ve listened too I’m a huge Marni Mann fan and listening to this book was amazing! Definitely recommend!

Hannah has been working her tail off to finally claim her spot working at her family’s law firm. The only thing standing in her way is an internship and the bar. But she’s thrown a curve ball she gets paired up with Declan Shaw, hot shot litigator, playboy and oh yeah the guy she had a one night stand with who promptly blew her off.

Determined to keep things professional, Hannah does the only mature thing she can think of and pretends she doesn’t remember that night when it’s all she can think about as he bosses her around with his gruff attitude and domineering ways. But the chemistry between them won’t go away and they find themselves reluctantly giving in over and over again. But what does this mean for their futures at The Ford Group.

I was so excited to dive into this one after we got a glimpse of their mutual disdain for each other in The Single Dad and it did not disappoint. The chemistry and steamy scenes between these two were 10/10. Definitely not the audiobook you want to listen to with an audience.

I loved how despite his insistence at keeping her at arms length, he acknowledged her talent, smarts and ambition and he wasn’t afraid of taking on a smart well possessed women at the top of her field. The central conflict was a little low stakes for my tastes and resolved fairly quickly but that just gave us more time with this power couple.

I can’t wait for Cam’s story next! Thanks so much to Valentine PR and Marni Mann for providing me with an audio copy for review!

“Hannah Dalton was going to be the end of me. The fear of losing her had gotten in my head.”

Review: This is book 4 in the Dalton Family series. This was my second book by Marni, and wowza! I've always heard how spicy they were! Let me tell you, that is definitely true! I first met Hannah and Declan in The Single Dad and instantly loved Hannah. Then, when I felt the intensity of Declan with her, I was dying to get my hands on their story. I was so excited to find out their book was next.

Hannah is in law school when she meets Declan Shaw. The man is the best litigator and has many reputations. Some good, some not so good. These two are so drawn to one another and when the chemistry building between them finally comes to a head, it explodes. These two were fire! The mouth on Declan...watch out!🥵 Your Kindle will be burning! Oh this man! He could be so mean, but also set you on fire. I loved the sass that Hannah would give right back to him. I loved the little bits that we got of the rest of the Daltons. I am super excited for The Bachelor next because it is Hannah's twin brother Camden. Those who know me, know my obsession with twins, but that isn't the only reason. I can't wait to see who Camden's leading lady is. I have my hopes and dreams of who it is, though!🤞 I can't wait to go back and read the first two books in the series, The Billionaire and The Lawyer. I am really loving these characters and this world. I listened to the audiobook by Lee Samuels and Savannah Peachwood. Lee is newer to me, but he did such a great job bringing grumpy growly Declan to life. Savannah did a fantastic job bringing Hannah to life. I thought they were both perfect and enhanced the story beautifully! I highly recommend this steamy series!

😮‍💨🔥 this audio is sooooo good!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Marni can do no wrong. She can write me a lunch menu and I’ll eat it up!

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧 is no exception! Just look at these tropes:
🔥 Age Gap
🔥 Alpha / Billioanire
🔥 Office / Workplace Romance
🔥 Boss / Employee
🔥 Forced Proximity
🔥 One Night Stand

Declan and Hannah are HOT! Fanned myself through the entire book! When a one night stand turns into your new assigned mentor and they find out your last name is Dalton…bring it on. Declan’s mouth is delicious. Swoony and d!rty!! Hannah is smart and strong and knows what she wants and won’t let anything get in her way.

Ally-ways, conference room tables - y’all better get ready.

I have loved every book in this Dalton series and can’t wait to see what is next!

Rating ⭐️⭐️- listened on audio- Dual POV- office romance- Lawyer Boss and his intern. This book was steamy but I felt it lacked character development. I thought at times it was predictable.
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC.

This was fine. It had the same sort of vibe as the past books but I felt like the lawyer talk was a little bit more present in this one. Declan was more of a jerk than he needed to be and Hannah was way to forgiving but overall this story was what I expected it to be. The thing that bothered me the most was that there was no way Hannah would be able to bake as much as she did with all her lawyer stuff going on at the same time.

The Intern is book #4 in the Dalton Family Series and it was a very enjoyable read. This is Declan and Hannah's story and its an insta-attraction with all the feels. Declan's hot and cold attitude towards Hannah drove me a bit crazy but all in all it was a really good book, full of sexual tension, steam and all the drama.

As for the narration, Savannah Peachwood and Lee Samuels were the perfect Hannah and Declan. They really brought these characters to life.

I received this as an audio galley to listen to for free in exchange for my honest review. Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for giving me access.

As far as the Dalton Family series goes, The Intern was my least favorite. After reading The Single Dad, this one just fell a little flat. I guess this pairing just wasn't for me. That being said, I didn't hate it and it was still enjoyable. Was all the spice there? Absolutely. This checked all the boxes and tropes one could love.

I absolutely loved this!! I read the book when it released and couldn’t pass up being to listen to it as well. These narrators did an AMAZING job!! I already loved the story, but they both brought a whole new level.
I have to give the female narrator a shoutout, she KILLED it. Usually, as reviewers we hear about the male narrator bringing to life our favorite character.. but the female narrator was amazing as well. This was a perfect cast in my opinion.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and author for allowing me to read this book for fee for an honest review. didn’t particularly enjoy this book, though I didn’t finish all of it. The sexual content and language was just too much for me to even listen to as an audiobook. Im sure the author may be a great writer, but the content didn’t appeal to me.

Declan Shaw is the most ruthless litigator in LA, everyone fears standing across from him in the courtroom, it doesn’t help that he is seriously hot. Declan’s player ways are thrown out the window once he meets Hannah, while he’s mentoring her classes mock trial. Suddenly, they are in the alley behind a bar and he has her pinned against the wall. But then he disappears. Until a few weeks later, when Hannah starts her internship at her families law firm, The Dalton Group, and her new mentor is the man she had the best sex with behind a bar and now who she hates but can’t stop fantasizing about.

The Intern is book four (4) in the Dalton Brother series. I have only read The Single Dad (book 3) and was able to follow the story. Every book in this series can be read as a standalone, but previous relationships and characters are mentioned. This books timeline does occur before and during the events of The Single Dad, but nothing substantial is needed to know.

I absolutely loved Hannah! She is strong, intelligent and strong willed, she is going to succeed in her life and get the career she wants. Just because she is a Dalton doesn’t mean she will be handed an internship or a position within The Dalton Group, and was will work her ass off to show her family that she is worth being apart of the team. She also doesn’t want any favouritism because of her last name, so she doesn’t share it, even with Declan.
Declan is just hot. He’s dominant, not just in his work life 👀 Declan is very torn about his feelings for Hannah and how she effected him during the single night together. His jealously is ski high but he can’t have her, she’s a Dalton and he’s her boss. But he’ll take his frustrations out on her. While I wasn’t crazy about some of their interactions and how Declan treated her. He became petty at some times and cruel at others. I would have loved more of a resolution or a proper conversation about his actions. Some additional character development, especially between Hannah and Declan, would have been fantastic but that’s not why were here. There is a slight instalove trope to this as well, while they have an active sexual life, there is limited interaction beyond that to build a relationship on, but that’s not why we’re here and it wasn’t a big deal for me.

After reading The Single Dad, I was excited to read Hannah and Declan’s story. I was expecting more enemies but was shocked with how their story actually began! The spicy..omg the alley scene, THE CONFERENCE ROOM!!!!!! MY GOD. The spice is hot, NSFW hot! Now I did note the parts that made me completely cringe and pull out of the story, now this is just my personal preference on how I like my spice but these moments are the reason behind the lower star rating.

I received the audiobook version and really enjoyed the narration by Savannah Peachwood and Lee Samuels. I have found in the past that the same narrators have been used throughout a standalone series, like this one, which makes it difficult to differentiate between characters, and little ticks you may not have liked in previous books will continue on. I appreciate the different narrators, especially for a character like Declan. Lee Samuels did a fantastic job, and really brought the heat! I also appreciate his ‘female’ voice, it was well done and didn’t pull me out of the story. Savannah Peachwood was also fantastic and seemed to be having so much fun with the character!

If you like off-limits romance, intern/boss, workplace romance, forced proximity, grumpyxsunshine, (lovers to) enemies to lovers, 🌶🌶, 1st person dual POV, age-gap (32M, 24F), second chance romance, no third act breakup, HEA, THIS ONES FOR YOU!

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an advanced audio copy for an honest review. I love you guys 💕

The audiobook narrators did a fantastic job for The Intern.

Office Romance
Enemies to Lovers
Forced Proximity
Slight Forbidden Romance

Hannah is a bada** who can hold her own and I love that. She's such a strong FMC. The spice is off the charts as is all the Dalton Series books. Marni does smutty scenes extremely well and this book is no different. Declan is a huge jerk during the book so I didn't love him as much as other characters in the series, but by the end I really enjoyed him and Hannah.
